Space Filipino actually, Sikwate is a Filipino term and Tablea, while a Spanish word, is what we use to call the thing - tablet form ground cacao. quite bitter in that form but awesome in champorado

Something very similar to that happened to me a while ago. I'm indian, and we have a dish thats made from chopped stir fried banana flower (yes, bananas have flowers, they're a fruit ya dingus). One time our family was visiting the farmers market when we saw that one of the farmers had banana flowers out. We grabbed all of them and asked how much they were. The farmer was at first confused and then blown away when we explained you could eat the damned things. he gave them to us for free since he was just gonna throw them away anyhow and was just using them as decorations. From then on until we moved we bought banana flower, banana saplings, and banana flesh from the guy for hella cheap.

If I recall correctly, bananas technically aren't even a tree, being classified as a herbaceous plant, which is an interesting fact considering those things sure as hell look like trees. On a related note, I really wish there were different varieties bananas available in the USA. I'd be fine with seeded bananas if they had seeds anything like that of watermelon, being easy to separate front he fruit and spit out.

Seems similar to how people dont know you can make different things from dandelions. Havent tested my self but roots can be made into a tee while rest of the flower goes well in the salads i have been told.... while most people dont know about this and treat it as weed.
