@geneparmesan87487 ай бұрын
My favourite subtle joke in the whole sequence is when Gary says "To err is human, so... errrrrr." And then gives a victorious sort of shrug like he just made his point. Knowing how Edgar Wright writes his dialogue I'm sure it's an intentional joke but it's just SO understated that it has me wondering if I'm just looking at more things to laugh at.

Cool. Tell us more. Like, what else was shot?
@rakondite2 жыл бұрын
@@asturianix9820 just after Gary King says “I was so beautiful”, there was another line: “I’d f**k me!” I guess they edited that line out as being too complex for the American audience/rating system. There was a more involved escape sequence that was handled by the 1st AD, and some extra bits of destruction. I was right next the guy who got hit by a breakaway piece of set, and I had to lean over the edge over the guard rail - I had no idea if it could take my weight.

@@Yeomannn More dialogue and action. The bit that really stood out was a line that followed “I was so beautiful!”, the line that follows was “I’d f*** me!”, which was cut - presumably because it was considered too crude. There were more explosions and blanks hanging off the balcony. The stuntman next to me had a fall away bit of sit hit him, and I had to drop and lean/drape over a railing. Lots of fun. Cold, but fun.

He doesn't. His name is just Gary King, and he is referred as "Of the humans" to imply to which species he belongs. tho I don't agree with most of the System's methods: like mulching human beings. but I do agree on some level: the System acts like a mature adult, but often forgets it's compassion for living beings. but the one thing I do agree with completely, most of humanity consists of people who're physically adults, but mentally still children. and the sad part is, that it's that kind of childish adults that have the power to change/control the world. while the mentally mature people are powerless to do anything about it. this powerlessness it eats at you, so I gave up, to prevent myself from losing it and it helped focus on myself, improving myself and living with my flaws.

I disagree. It goes on just long enough. Gary starts of sort of floundering as the Network methodically explains it's goals and modus operandi, but he is defiant. Andy gets in on things and starts providing more precise criticism of the Networks plans. All three of them being drunk and belligerent throws the Network off its game and makes it flustered. The music builds while at first it seems like the group is just raging against an impossible to defeat foe but as they actually start winning the argument the music building represents them winning the argument. Ultimately the Network could bring Humanity into the Galactic Community, but only technically. The vast majority of Humanity would be mulched, as demonstrated by the three drunken and defiant fools the Network is currently arguing against. Seeing as that goes against the entire point of what the Network is trying to do it gives up, and the Three Musketeers win.
