This kind of why I wish the Beehive and the Crossed hands should have swapped placed because the Crossed Hands is where Gary kicked the hornet's nest originally not the Beehive and there was just as much hands crossed at the Beehive if not way more

@@scottchaison1001 all of the pubs' names foreshadow what happens there in the story when the gang visits them - not just The World's End. Draco wolf is saying saying that the pubs the Crossed Handsand The Beehive should have switched name : it makes more sense for the Crossed hand to be named The beehive considering Gary "kicked the hornet's nest" there, and they fought (crossed hand) at the hornet as much as they did at the crossed hand, if not more. There's a LOT of foreshadowing (& details &depth in general) in this film - it's why it's my favorite movie of the cornetto trilogy, despite being the least popular of the three. There's the famous part in the intro where you can very faintly see the alien's craft land fall down to Earth in the sky when Gary and Andy are sitting on the hill, the characters being around gary, the "king", having names related to a royal court (gary *king* , steven *prince* , Andy *knight* .ley, *reverend* green, peter *page* , oliver *chamberlain* ), two characters named after spices/condiments (becky *salt* , mad *basil* - althought not too sure if it has any meaning; I do know basil comes from the greek word for "king"), peter's old bully literally being named little hawk (hawkson - the hawk being a predatory, vicious animals striking when their prey least expect it - just like in the intro !), and Mr *Shepherd* could be seen as trying to guide Gary in the intro and failing, or, when converted into a blank, for being the one trying to get the guys to submit, to the alien's will or whatever. In fact, the intro pretty much foreshadows the entire movie one way or another.

That’s one of many things I love about this film. Consistently until things hit the wall in the beehive, the network doesn’t attack the gang unless they are actively attacked first. They only start to fight proactively when the gang become more unwieldy. After all, if they can get you to join them peacefully, they will.

i like... well, everything about this scene, but something i just noticed watching this that i like is that right at the end of the scene as the group looks over the bathroom, they're all heavily breathing in unison. (see how their shoulders rise and fall) kind of a prelude to the immaculate alabama song sequence coming up.

At this point they didn’t wanna give themselves away or their cause so quickly. The blanks thought they could easily turn the gang with no problem. Gary and the boys were probably the only ones who not only said no, but fought back and the blanks weren’t expecting that.

I see what you’re getting at and technically you’re right there wasn’t really any logic in pushing the hairdryer since everyone was already a blank but I think it was more for the audiences sake than anything else, we don’t know until the end of the movie that everybody in newton haven has been taken over, I wouldn’t even be surprised if they did it just for the sake of taking precautions and reducing suspicion in case anyone else in town was human.

I'm pretty sure the officer wasn't turned yet, he acted mostly normal and actually nice and when the group chug their beer before leaving, all the pub-bots all turn their heads and look at them, all except the police officer who keeps looking towards the bar or wherever and doesn't turn, I think he was probably converted not long after The Network would've realized since he's by himself, and they'd need a clean up in the bathroom, to just get rid of another potential threat
