I find those spine animations you use to be very cool. I find I am already doing most of these exercises. The quadruped supermans I find to be the hardest, one side is easy to balance on compared to the other. That last stretch you did was shown to me by a yoga instructor to stretch the posterior deltoids and rhomboids. It was a nightmare for my right side to say the least. It would be cool if you include more transverse plane exercises. When trying to de-rotate the spine I find it very difficult to figure out which side I should be rotating to specific to my scoliosis. That's the tricky part in all this.

I'm 15 years old. I have 101° curve in thorasic area. Doctor recommended you should get growth rod surgery. Is that good. If I will get that surgery.. in the future is there are any complications???? In

Hi, due to the degree of your curvature surgery would be a very good option for you. what about a resistance band around your triceps and then doing pull aparts, then move the resistance band to your forearms and do it again all the way down to your wrists for mid-low back trap-lat activation and erector spinae muscles?

For the ballerina stretch, wouldn’t it make the curve worse if you lean like that on the side your spine already goes? Looks like you’d need to do it in opposite way

All stretches need to be amended for each curve type. This is why it is very important to have a consultation as we can assess the patients back and make sure exercises/stretches are being prescribed and performed correctly. :)

. We all can't get to where you are but people will do it both ways.. I have levoscoliosis and no stretching has really ever changed nothing but I am in fact very tight on both sides of the door exercises .. so im doing both sides. Ik I need to twist to the left and stretch right side only.. if I'm tight everywhere why not do both... my primary doctor says there's nothing I can do that will change it.. I spent years not believing him fighting it. Im 55..

I will be having an operation probably at the end of this Yr because my curve is over 60 degrees. Do exercises hav any effect since the spine has already curved this much? Is there any point if I will be getting surgery?

Recovery will be difficult. You will have to learn how to move, sit up, stand and even walk again. Depending on the surgery, I had major work done, you may need a walker for about 6 months. You will have bad days, so heads up about that. I had surgery at 12 and still have pain flare ups in my 30’s. Stretching will help with pain and tightness. But speak to the physical therapist about long term exercises.

@@yminlvre hiii! thanks for asking, Ive been doing great! Some days are worse than others but all in all the pain is tolerable. Its been over 4 months since the surgery and everyday tasks are pretty easy. I had xrays almost 2 months ago and my surgeon said my scar is beautiful and the metal work is as it should be. Im starting to dance again even tho I cnt do much. Im acc a gymnast but as of now, gymnastics says HELL NAH so I hav resorted to doing dance first which I just do at home for fun. At school, I miss pe classes so I basically get a free period :))

My doctor told me scoliosis can't be completely cured, but you can prevent it from progressing and maybe it can get better from exercise. Mine got a bit better after doing schroth physiotherapy with a certified instructor for 3 years. :)

If you think of concave being like a cave (inside of the curve) and convex (outside of the curve). You would want to stretch the muscles on the concave side more

I do not know if i have scoliosis, my shoulders are uneven,my head is tilted to one side a little and so is my waist, and my other leg seems longer than the other. Pls help,do i have scoliosis or any underlying problem.

what we can do for 4 yrs. old child when in sitting position, lower lumber spine is more upside visible. But in standing position not visible and it is straight.

HOW THAT ANGLE MEASURED ? FROM HORIZONDAL OR FRO VERTICAL AXIS?

@@jkj1459 err.. I really don't know, all I saw in the x-ray was "Thoracolumbar Dextroscoliosis noted with Cobb's angle of 37.3°c."

Does this work with lower lumbar scoliosis? Mine goes to the right and it lean/stretch on my ball on my right side. 😊

Hi April - scoliosis can be caused by a number of underlying conditions, but the majority of cases are idiopathic, meaning the cause is not known. Idiopathic scoliosis is thought to be linked to genetic factors. More information here: www.scoliosissos.com/news/post/is-scoliosis-hereditary

These general exercises are incorporated in some elements of yoga and so are safe for people to do without medical supervision. However, the ScolioGold programme that we use to improve posture, reduce pain and avoid the need for surgery is very specific to each patient and involves scoliosis-specific physiotherapy. Our methods are very different from the exercises posted in this video.

Вы не уточняете главное. Важно знать тип сколиоза, иначе все будет плохо! А симметричные упражнения можно делать только при 1-2 степени сколиоза
