Its interesting to see just how much the circumstances have changed in the GPU market. As of now with the shortages and extremely high demand from gamers, miners, and scalper, ALL GPU models are being sold way above MSRP. I've even seen RTX 3080s being sold for $2000+ which is just insane, which then all of sudden makes an RTX 3090 near MSRP look like a fantastic deal. At this point people are just buying what ever is in stock, regardless of the price tag.

Id recommend this too pal as 4k on 3440x1440 the 3080 sucks with rtx/DSLL and ULTRA turned on in Watchdogs Legions.... But this beast is dogz doo-darz

As an owner, the only thing u can complain about this card is the price and nothing else. It's almost perfect The consistency, reliability and the longevity is just unmatchable Moreover, this also the best card for overclocking an RTX 3090!! Mine arrive yesterday and I wanna say few things about . One , after you mounting the GPU mandatory you will need a bracket ,especially to hold it in the left end corner of the card because she is heavy , no matter if your PCIE port is enforced or no . Secound , pay attention to how many monitoring softwares run in the same time in to your Windows background.(if aht Asus GPU software run in the same time with Armoury Crate and MSI Afterburner will make the fans to continue spinning in idle mode without spinning .After I close the Asus GPU Twicker II, the fan come back to normal behaviour. Third , jumping from a Zotac Extreme Amp 2080ti the difference is huge, apart of the performance uplift , this card have somehow personally, you have RGB sync with the motherboard and the Corsair ICUE ,plus very silent fans comparing with ICStorm 2.0 from Zotac plus 12 Celsius degree cooler (from 72 to 60 in full underload ). Power consumption I see jumps on even 410 watts with setting default out of the box . Performance , is just skyrocket on gaming and creator creation . In my case , the extra 13 GB of VRAM is more that welcome , I see utilisation of 22 GB VRAM in some situations yesterday . Last thing ,I'd you buy this thing , don't forget to go to Asus.com and on the webpage of this card download the bios (yes is a bios version there ) have around 10.22 MB . That will update the card bios (yes , is weird but is there ) . After the update I see the fan rotation being more stable even with the spikes on the power consumption. My final thoughts, buy it if you wanna the best from Ampere Architecture jumping from a older GPU and you really wanna everything from NVidia Ampere Architecture for you . If is to much for you or you don't wanna pay so much, fine , no problem but don't be a troll or hater because is just to much . In my case for my workload is just a good match along with the 5950x . I wish this card to come down to 1350-1450$ so can more people buy it .

I work with Unreal Engine, this is the best card out there, the 3080 has 12 gbs which is ununceptable when you are using metahumans, I also have the nvidia 3090ti founder version which overheat, I can work during hours without any issues.

The ones who know and understand power due to the performance we are already at understand that's very big with these. You can then push it further if you want to. It will consistently outperform the 3080. Kind of like poweruptech showing a 20 percent gain across the board which is very good.

Just got this card... not a big gamer on PC.. I use it for rendering. The statement you made about there only being a 10 sec difference between this card and the 3080 in Blender is complete wrong.... 10 secs in a HUGE MONUMENTAL difference in the rendering world. If I am rendering a 1 minute animation @ 24 frames per second... the difference between the two cards is 240 minutes in time saving. This card, although not called the a Titan, is in the same category... it really is only designed for content creators like you said.. I'll make the money back I spent on this card in a few jobs.. just in time savings. Love your review alot .. hope you are OK with the insight from a professional.

I do not understand this hate for 3090. It's as if people haven't ever bought a high-end product in any other market. Of course there will be a diminishing return. Same goes with cars / houses / food... literally anything. You can buy a car with 450hp that does 0-60 in 4.2s for £80,000... get the next model up for 550hp that does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds £110,000. You are paying £30,000 to shave off 0.3 seconds...It just depends what matters and how much money you have. So no, it's not an expensive disappointment. You had an unrealistic expectation

I have one! I had no GPU in 2020... so i did the F5 thing and i manage to get one and with a free game too! Loving it so far! Problems at the start was that some games crash in max settings. But now with the latest driver i have no issues Running now games at 4K 144FPS with no problems :) Now i'm not buying another for the next 5 years i hope! last GPU i had was 8 years hold!

The 3090 is not the best value for gaming, but what about loading 50+ 4K floating point precision UDIM patches on a creature model in Blender? Or GPU rendering complex 3D assets that require less than 24GB of VRAM? In that case this GPU is a steal at the MSRP, we've never seen anything like it for this price. Combine 2 with NV Link and you can literally have 48GB of shared VRAM. That's amazing for a 3D artist. For gaming, not really best value.

I went with Aorus Xtreme. Vapour chamber cooling and 4 f*****g slots.. I undervolted mine reducing the power load and got a lot of gpu boost, 2075 avg on stock clocks 95% of the time. Manually tuned fan curve where at 60c,fan spins at 75% speed. So with these settings combined, my temps stays under 60C, around 56-58C, ambient 13C (winters). Great review.

I hate to be this guy but this benchmark comparison is not done properly or even objectively. The question should have been a Stock RTX 3080 FE vs a Stock RTX 3090 FE and comparing those results to this card. Or even a MSI RTX 3090 or EVGA RTX 3090 FTW or another high end Board Partner card release. It's always been common knowledge that the XX80* have always been better bang for the buck than the Titan grade card and the RTX 3090 is this series Titan grade GPU. Getting that additional 15-20% is much high cost in this teir because it requires only high yield GPUs that cannot be used for lower end GPUS. If a GPU yields low that GPU is literally scrapped or recycled. Not locked, modified, and rebranded. That's another reason why there's so much VRAMM is trying to accommodate the needs of customers who spend twice or even three times as much for the Titan grade GPU. Nvidia makes these design calls and not ASUS. I felt like in your review you were faulting ASUS a ton for Nvidia design choices. Not to mention you missed something entirely when it came to noise. Other reviews show this card using the 2nd bios that performs the exact same but in silent fan mode. Same GPU performance, just more heat less noise. I beleive your comparison to cards that don't have this feature were unfair. You should have compared a fan curve you modified so that each card would be spinning at the same RPMs at the same temps. This requires some math and research but it's the industry standard for fair and actually the MSI card is louder at the same RPMs, just a note I thought you should consider for future reviews. I agree that cost on all RTX 3090s is not ASUS's fault and the price point on this GPU isn't ASUS's fault either. However, you are presenting it as such. It's the consumer conception that this card is "better" making it harder to purchase in the GPU shortage, and raising its price over time. Further raising the white edition. I just think you fixated on the wrong aspects of this RTX 3090 and did a subjective and unfair review of this board partners approach to a top tier RTX 3090. There's great value in your approach to benchmark and real world case data and its well presented. I think you just were fixated on the wrong points and could have compared more relevant data for a "fair" comparison. Still a good video!

Influencers & KZbinrs alike need to be held to a higher standard when they put information out on the web. On my own forums and Facebook Groups we hold our experts and admins to that same standard. Someone who cares about what information they put out there would ammend their mistakes and release corrected content. It's our jobs as viewers to call out bad content. The 3090 makes the difference when you water cool it and unlock the power limit. That gives you another 10-15% which combined with the 24 GB memory that will make the card viable in 4K for much longer is then worth the upgrade in my opinion. But if you are not doing that and are gonna upgrade again with the next generation then the 3080 is definitely the perfect choice.

Another thing people aren't saying in any of the reviews is about the 10GB of VRAM the 3080 has. I honestly didn't care at all about a 3090 given the price, but if you watch the VRAM usage on higher resolutions (1600p, 2160p) you'll see you've almost hit that 10GB ceiling... my 3080 has been near 9GB VRAM usage in Division 2, COD: Cold War, and even Battlefront II in some cases... sure people can wait for a 3080 Ti or a 40 series card... but if you're desperate, or can't deal with waiting for an unknown... there are worse things you can buy right now. Not to mention at this point, who is to say Nvidia won't just charge $1K for a 4080, or $800 for a 4070? Sure the performance will be greater than Ampere, but how long did you have to wait for that? Also... good luck finding another Gaming X Trio for $850... MSI has increased their prices again, that thing is over $1k now...

@@thinkbeforeyoupost9766 But answering shortly yes water cooling will slightly improve your performance even without overclocking. Because your card is dropping boost clock speed every couple degrees. Under water it will run at least 20-30c cooler which will allow it boost higher however you should not be afraid to overclock. Modern cards are designed in the way you can't destroy it by overclock without physically modding the hardware.

Noice I got the first 3090 that I could buy. Would have got a 3080, but never could beat the bots. And I'm SOOO glad I did get the 90 Because half my use is going to VR and 3090 on average performs 33% better in VR due to such high render resolutions , and maxing out ram Some games, the 90 was 50% faster than the 80. So if u care about VR which is becoming more epic daily... then, it really makes the 90 a serious choice, over the 15% you might get in today's games. Although I foresee even normal triple A titles being able to take advantage and use up to 16 gig of vram SOON consoles all have more than 10 10 is just not enough going forward And Infact is Nvidia trying to pull a fast 1 on people with planned obsolescence.

@Seravasvu I think something important is that its not meant to be used only for gaming, we have the 3080 for that, this is meant to be a powerful tool to make renders quickly, great for coding, vr, and other specialty things. Gaming is just something that this monster of a card can easily handle while you take breaks from whatever thing that need all of the power in the 3090

That's an epic deal. I mean at that price point it's definitely worth it. And most of the early comments missed the point of the video. At that time it just didn't make sense to buy over a 3080 because it was double the price for maybe another 10%. For workstation users it's a different story.

Since its release, I've always said the 3090 is garbage card because the value extremely sucks (the worst value Nvidia gpu) and the performance u get over 3080 is next to none. Basically paying too much for the Vram. Right now however, 3090 is great choice if u can find one for under $550. Its better than most 40 series cards as those sucks value and specs wise as well.

You could push it considerably further with 500w ftw3 vbios. I'd say it a huge waste buying card likenthis not throwing a waterblock and pumping tons of power in it. This card is not a waste at all it is a waste for casual users.

Your GPU must be water cooled as mine hits 85-C in the Shadow of the tomb raider bench. with my PC case all open to the air while benching, and i was using 99-100% GPU usage.

Its not watercooled at all. Using the same cooler for this review. You'll want to check your power settings and fan curve profiles.

@@DannyzReviews HI again :) I found the problem, I have this case www.thermaltake.com/level-20-ht-snow-chassis.html and the AIO rad is at the bottom of the case with push pull sucking air out of the case underneath, and the top fan is also sucking out air... so i just opened the left side door and temps are in there 70's now even at 100%CPU usage @1900MHZ with your settings just a little higher voltage. and cyberpunk 2077 plays at 4k ultra everything with ray tracing set to its highest setting and i get 58 FPS average, the back fans are all sucking air into the case, 7 of them with the exception of the top case fan taking air out all corsair RGB with ICUE, mabye i need to spin around the AIO rad fans , but then that would draw in warm air.....

I bought a used one with a 2-year warranty for 800€ i work in Blender and its great card on of best best best card that you can get for that job Idk why some kidos who thinks this card is for gaming and then talk about like 3070 or 3080 that is cheaper, yeah its cheaper but if you dont look just gaming but also work from home work in photoshop or blender etc then this card is monster and stop talk shit and nosens for no reason...

Double the price? The 3080 ti is around 2000ish for this card and 2300-2400 for 3090. This card is well worth the extra cash. Not a great time to buy computer parts

Yikes my founders 3090 runs at 2140 and +1000 memory rock solid stable and with an aggressive fan curve.. that still isn’t loud because the fans are awesome...never tops 54 degrees even at 400 watts. Plus it fits solid with 0 sag since it’s all aluminum and uses 3 full mounting slots. Glad I passed on the strix this time. Plus the flow through fan cools my oc’d ram 😁

my asus rog strix 3090 oc heats up a lot also I have error id 14 nvlddmkm.sys but it only freezes playing games (I don't have blue screens) every time it makes it more abundant with more games. I think it is due to the voltage or it is simply the nvidia driver and this card comes from the factory defective. my power supply is a corsair hx 1200w ryzen 5900x, motherboard asus x570 tuf gaming plus wifi ram 32gb newskill and everything is well ventilated... sorry my english

You can tell this gpu is not for gaming. That crazy amount of vram is only good if you had an 8k tv. with the amount of price difference from the 3080 is not justified to the amount of performance youre getting. I have an rtx 3080 and my pc is solo for gaming with my 4k monitor, nothing else. And unless youre a youtuber with ads you can easily afford it even if its for gaming only. Im talking about average consumers. 3080 is where its at.

Ive had the 3080 then upgraded to 3090 after enough game time and research. If the plan is to play 4k with all textures with upcoming future games, the 3090 is where its at. If the plan is 1440p stick to the 3080 you should be fine. As far as 4k gaming the 3090 is king and will only become more noticeable as games become more demanding, not so much with current games.

No.... sub 2100 Mhz is complete trash. Some random person got a custom 3090 up to ~3014 Mhz using LN2 the other day, beating out Kingpin products. Pretty crazy. The 3090 "Should" be running up to like....2300-2400Mhz+ without LN2, given it can suck up nearly 500 watts on the high end like you mentioned. That performance cannot justify the power usage, its a big waste.
