What a place to be. One place I still have to visit on a wild camp. Due to heart surgery and arthritis, the latter being the most painful, I am limited to hill days of long daylight hours and shorter distances. My days are spent wandering on my own waiting for good light and good vantage points. One of these days I will leave the car at home and use my bus pass and just disappear into the sunset. I just love wilderness.

The man is honestly close becoming as legendary as tam weir . I'm really jealous of the great places you go to Murray. Just found out today that the Mrs and I are expecting a wee boy in December. Can't wait to take him to Arisaig, morar(silver sands) , mallaig and over to Armadale and show him our country. Your videos just bring back my childhood, visiting mallaig, rum, muck, eigg, morar etc. Beautiful.....can you stay over on the silver sands morar or the local hero Beach? The sandbar at the portnadoran campsite is amazing with views to the small Isles.

Ohhh my Murray, they looked like good and worn boots too it’s a walkers worst nightmare when the blisters set in, I really felt it for you, stuck between a rock and a hard place ! Making it up there knowing it’s going to peel a piece of flesh off your heel, and having to let that happen for a good cause, just shows the kind of courage and fortitude that you have. You took one for the Arches there ! I’m sure it was much appreciated, yet it did not stop me from wincing at every step you took, your a good person Murray! Old Owl 🦉 Alaya.

I have been doing this up and down munros for in excess of 30 years now and at 72 its not getting any easier. Sometimes coming down when it hurts most and i'm knackered I think maybe its time ! Then the next day or the day after I search out one of Murray's pieces and think....... i'm gonna check the forecast pick the right day get the maps and books out and I'm away again! Ohh my God Murray ! I’ve only ever done half the length/height and sheerness of that ascent in my life! with my back pack on, and it was a mistake that I couldn’t turn back from, on a nine hour stint to the top and over into the valley and I did it crawling !!! Literally crawling ! I was shixxing myself, and terrified I would be pulled back by my sack, I cannot tell you how brave you are, or explain it to someone who doesn’t walk the high places, but that Murray was a feat of pure faith and guts of iron on your behalf. I laughed my head off when your treat was a coke, as after that nine hour ascent I did I left the valley a day early because I was craving an ice cold coke so much, in fact I left in the dark to start the easy ascent to Los brecitos, back down into the valley and up and over again to the nearest village, my friend was royally peeved at me, so I cracked up when I saw your coke , your a marvel of a person Murray that’s for sure ! One word Murray, epic. Awesome journey and tough going but when you get weather and views like that, its worth the pain every time. I did Ladhar Bheinn the way you descended from the ferry at Inverie, with 2 dogs and camped in the glen en route. Regrettably I didnt get the views you did cos the cloud came in as I ascended to the ridge, so I need to go back. Your're right, its not its best side, but shorter and less painful. The first time tried to reach the summit from Mam Barrisdale an was forced to retreat due to unseasonal serious deep snow all the way up the ridge on the May day Bank holiday a year earlier. Serious wild country, but was with you all the way. Thankyou for taking us with you.

It’s an epic and wild feeling area Lyndsey. Late snow in the mountains is usually a nightmare to hike on (been there a few times ) deep soft melting snow is not much fun to hike up !! Lol glad you got to the summit but shame you never got the views - but the upside is it gives you an excuse to go back :) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
