I always enjoy your "Laid back" Detecting Videos, I personally think that they are one of the best Detecting related Videos out there at the moment. There are way too many bad ones on KZbin, so it is very pleasing to see you keeping up the good work that you do. Well done John and I will look out for you at the RCM Rally, I am just coming on the Saturday.

You know you’re the only detectorist that l have ever seen and l do watch guys from all over world that has never fully dug a hole and left a target in the ground. I watched a guy dig what he said was approximately 16 inches down and nearly 18 inches in width and after all that he dug up an ancient sword. Most detectorist take every target good and bad as courtesy for the farmer for letting them use the fields.

Sixpence is sometimes also called a bender because they used to be very thin and it was possible to bend it with your fingers. May be related to the term 'going on a bender', presumably because you could buy lots of alcohol with a sixpence at the time.

Missed the live, but completely enjoyed the recording. It would be an epic event or two if you did a Willie Scott colab. He could show you how to dig your bottle dump, then 🤞 walk a field or two together. You both could record for your channels. just a thought. Cheers & thanks for the excellent entertainment. 👍 Pat~ Yukon

Hi John , been using the Deus 2 now for about a week alongside the manticore, it’s interesting using the 2 machines it’s 50/50 on finds so far .. thinking the D2 and the manticore on air tests are equal , on pasture / plough the D2 has about 1-2 inch advantage 🤔

United Sates, Virginia here where three-ringer Civil War bullets and Indian Head Pennies are genuinely "old" and valued. If per chance we detect a coin that breaks into the 1700's a significant mile-stone has been reached. The coins you that you consider "old" in your country were generally crafted from stone over here. Given your cultural history and the value of reporting significant finds to the museum, it seems incredibly ironic that laws and public policies have been put in place that actively embolden and encourage lawless people *not* report. Your diligence in reporting your finds is commendable.

A supportive wife for a metal detectorist is quite easy to achieve, bring them home some treasure that they want to put on their finger or around their neck, lo and behold your spouse is very supportive. Sometimes they want the costume jewelry and sometimes they want the chunky gold rings with the diamonds and sapphires, either way they tend to be supportive. Bronze axe heads are amazing but not something that she wants to see in your hands as you come home from a victorious day of digging.

I once found a Gorgeous 18k ring with i think 11 diamonds in it, the main one was close to 1/2 a carat. Yes, she was supportive for a time, but eventually threw me out and kept my ring. SO, lol that theory doesn't Always hold water. :-) But, i Still love er.
