Hasn’t happened in Ecuador which allows foreigners to buy even beachfront property. I think inability for foreigners to purchase should keep development down but many countries do have those restrictions and if I was just starting out and much younger it would keep me from ever wanting to live there but not keep me from traveling as a tourist.

Europeans do travel a lot. They also speak more than one language. That is so true about having a "golden ticket". I think Mark is also right that drug addiction and suicides are up amoung young people. They are missing out. i bet if they made a trip to Asia or Africa they will realize how lucky they are. They will also realize that materialism is not fulfilling. There is always the excitement when you buy the latest cellphone or the latest Tesla which they are on the hook for a long time, and the excitement wears off after a few weeks. But America is a capitalism and we are bombarded with ads that tell us what we need to have but in the end is not fulfilling. Scott is lucky to realize all this at a young age. i wiish i had that wisdom. Had i known about places like the Philippines i would have prepared better to get there. I wish YT was around just 10 years earlier.

I went all over Siquijor about 12 years ago. Back then even Filipinos wouldn’t visit because of its voodoo/witchcraft reputation, which is ridiculous of course. But now with all these You Tubbers going that no longer applies!

Regarding the issue of having a girlfriend or a wife, there are several long time expat Philippines travel vloggers who are your age, and they have girlfriends, or a wife, and are happy in their relationships. And up to this day, they are still traveling and vlogging in Philippines, and most of the time solo. So you should, and I believe you too can find a high quality partner like of these guys. You may already know some of these guys because they are the most influencial, and have the most number of subscriber Philippines travel and lifestyle KZbin vloggers.

You don’t have to waste your life while working. I take 5 weeks vacations a year and also go places every other weekend with my family. Don’t wait until you retire to live

PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only & not the ideal country for foreigners to settle foreigners in PH have very limited rights can't own properties & full business ownership foreigners obtain PH citizenship if born & raised in PH which is not the case of newcomers

I watched and tried not to judge the young man. As an American, I lived and worked in the Philippines at around his age and even making a decent U.S. wage there - a desk type job in the PH. Maybe it's a difference in generations, but even with money in my pocket living in the PH, I couldn't just backpack around and party for months at a time. I mean, for me, I'd feel lazy doing that 24/7 for weeks on end; leave a mark on the world man. These kids these days...
