Thanks so much for the great commentary. Five of the horses from our barn went to this show, they did pretty good in the western/ ranch horses. I don’t get to see much of their showing because I show a different breed so it was awesome to have a little feel of what I missed when they all leave for 3 and a half weeks. Thank you again.

The black’s rider needs a better trainer for her riding skills! Many of these riders are giving the SMOOTH gaits of the Arabian horse a bad impression /example to the audience!! Especially in the beginning video! This breed has an ultra smooth level ride! There’s nothing like riding an Arabian! Smooth as silk to ride unless the rider ruins the horses motion!
@casdragon_5939 Жыл бұрын
Depends on the gaits. Arabs are built as a trotting breed, not a running breed, so they naturally float and have a bouncier rate than many stock horses. It's easily seen in Western classes. Has literally nothing to do with the trainer and everything to do with basic horse anatomy.

Now the horses that are any different color than brown or white is not a true Arabian! A true Arabian doesn't turn white until it's almost 8 years old! There are no blacks, bays or white stocking Arabians anywhere so I don't know where you're getting the information but it's incorrect! We don't care if the king of Saudi Arabia says they're Arabians they're not unless they have the classic Brown until they're 8 white afterwards! They also have sort of a smashed face look totally different from any other horse breed!!? For instance that horse with the white face is not an Arabian!
@MagnificentHorses2 жыл бұрын
I have a book on horse breeds that says Arabians come in gray, bay, black, chestnut, and occasionally roan. However, many of the classes at this show are half Arabians. That’s why you are seeing so many other colors. Good comment though!
@cynthiajohnston4242 жыл бұрын
I believe you may be thinking of Lipizzaners which are born dark then turn gray at about 8 - 10 yrs. old . I worked for & showed Arabians for a past president of the A. association - he also bred multiple champions for decades & was a " walking textbook " on the breed & its history . Purebred Arabians have " dished " faces & come in many coat colors & many have striking white markings as well as naturally long flowing manes & tales . Historic equine paintings show all these characteristics as still represented today . Part or half Arabians may be crossed w/ several other breeds such as Thoroughbred ,Quarter Horse , Palomino , Paint , Buckskin , etc. & are registered as such & shown in recognized A. Assoc. classes . An ancient breed w/ a fascinating history & contemporary place in today's horse show world .

I am horrified by the amount of knee action shown by these poor Arabs. The breed is meant to float over the ground. Also some of the bits being used are harsh and unnecessary.
@MagnificentHorses2 жыл бұрын
That’s fine if your preference is a more natural gait but I’m not sure why it would be horrifying to watch horses picking up their feet more. And a bit is only harsh if too much pressure is applied. Any bit can be harsh in that regard. But if the riders were applying too much pressure the horse would either stop or else buck the rider off.
@casdragon_5939 Жыл бұрын
Arabs are a trotting breed, not a running breed so yes, they naturally have higher knee action when in collection
@allenmillenium62072 жыл бұрын
Another thing is no Arabian has a tail that drags the ground. Their tails are relatively short compared to other horses! The ones with long tails have tail extensions! This is something that's very new and frankly unattractive and ridiculous!
