My wild suggestion for Sandslash; Bide would have one hit Sandslash based on your hp. Crits would still mess you up, but fishing for that to not happen is faster than grinding to 100. Also I think Reflect was a wasted turn. Crits ignore it anyway and it's just a free attempt for him

Venomoth is likely a Fire/Ghost. It's because moths fly into heat sources, like fire and bug zappers. Maybe you could do a run with a custom Venomoth, sometime, where it learns porygon's attack, conversion, so it can change its type. It's really cool that you finally found the time to upload magnemite's run in yellow.

Given its now dual steel typing and quad weakness to ground, which you have covered the benefits of ground moves in gen 2, there is a part 2 to this, which is the Jhoto/gen 2 run of this as Magneton, for some fairness to this Pokémon.

And ,since Magneton constists of 3 Magnemites, does that mean you could in theory do a Magneton run? As the guy who BEGGED for the run which you happily obliged me with here of Magnemite only in Yellow (after suffering in Red on my own months back with the little Mag) I will not kid you around Scott. I'm not gonna pretend I was like "oh cool" and played it cool seeing this in my feed. Oh no. I literally raised BOTH FISTS in the air after sitting down at my computer and said "YES!!!" I made meatball sandwiches and now I know why. Amazing, illustrious timing on your part! I'm so darn excited to watch this thank you so much. Also for those playing at home , I told Scott it took me to level 83 iirc. But I reasonably believed with the right luck 77-78 could be done against the E4. I've written pretty big guides to a couple youtubers about this, including the illustrious Jrose11, but you are the bravest one by far by being the only acceptance of this challenge much less in Yellow. So I hope any of that helped you whittle time/leveling down whatsoever as someone with less experience doing this. I'm watching now YAY! :D

You got SO much luckier then me regarding the Hiker. I had to fight him probably 5 times before getting a run worth a darn because of the selfdestructs. It was miserable.

So at 75 (same I was at lance originally butting head against wall; where you're at before even attempted E4) stats for mine were: 106 ATK 161 DEF 133 SPD 191 SPEC You were blessed? with special and the speed definitely makes a difference. So I checked my stats at level 86 it was 121 ATK 186 DEF 152 SPD 219 SPEC I forgot I went back again just to prove it wasn't a fluke run. But I was curious to see what its level was there. Just in case curious to where I was when made comments a few months back.

As you can tell by it being one of Sabrina's Pokémon in Red and Blue, Venomoþ is clearly a Ψychic-type Pokémon. Judging by Koga using one, I would say ðat it is Poison / Ψychic.

I love the editing in this episode, especially the 10 screens at 28:23 . I think the gym leader screens are very well presented too, with enough time and information to really inform the viewer. Great job! I loved the sprite for magneton as a child. Playing Gold recently, I see a lot of similarities between that sprite and the sprite for Ho-Oh. The card was also cool too. Gives this sense of power.

Early game: Nights (Purrloin) (Level 12): Never got the chance to evolve into Liepard. Middle-game: Phoebe (Watchog) (Level 40): The pain of losing a Normal-type Pokemon... Mina (Stoutland) (Level 49): Critical hits hates me. Magneto (Magnezone) (Level 64): My panic lead Magnezone to die. Rest in peace. All in all, 4 Pokemon has died in my nuzlocke. Rest in Peace...

Gosh, that Giovanni battle was a constant barrage of critical hits. Great to see Magnemite get plenty of spotlight, particularly in Yellow Version, where Magnemite is rarely used (love it's sprite in this game). The abundance of Normal moves and lack of type options was an expected obstacle, though it was surprising to see just how difficult a single Sandslash was consistently throughout this run. 12:25 - Also, Electric/Flying Venomoth is adorable.

Nice! To help you in future runs: you can just talk To trainers in blaines gym directly To fight them; and you get stats points for all EVs in gen1, no such thing as only for an specific IV like other gens.

yep, stat experience is completely unrestricted (you can also gain more than 255/stat)

This only works in RB - leveling up against Pokemon with higher specific stats will increase stat growth in the desired area though. So targetting Voltorb will provide a higher speed yield than Slowpoke. You might still gain speed stat exp from Slowpoke, but you only gain as much as its base stat.

The steel type made such interesting changed for magnemite. It took years to remember it didn't get levitate in gen III.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Yellow Version Pikachu is the only Electric type to learn Thunderbolt by Level Up in Gen 1. Also, there is only 1 Thunderbolt TM... so once you use your Thunderbolt TM, the only STAB options you have for Electric Types, are Thunder Shock, and Thunder, with the Exception's being for Electabuzz which learns Thunder Punch, and Electrode which learns no Damage Dealing Electric moves by Level Up, and with only 1 TM for Thunder too, if you use The TM's for Thunderbolt and Thunder on other Pokemon, then Electrode gets no Offensive STAB Attacks! So yeah, Electric is a very scarce attack type unless you have easy access to trade to other games to teach Thunderbolt/Thunder on other games, after all, alot of non Electric Types benefit from learning Thunderbolt too. (Leaving this comment before watching the video, so you may have mentioned all this... or, maybe not. But unless I'm wrong, then here is your fun fact for the Day!)
