Thank you so much Scott. I had exactly the same problem this morning with our old Miele and had it fixed in seconds with your fork in the hole trick. I'm so incredibly grateful to you.

Thanks for the fork trick Scott! Problem is every couple of weeks my Miele G863 Plus gets the intake/drain light after machine fills and then need the fork trick to get her running a full cycle again. Am I looking at imminent pump failure? What to do?
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel8 ай бұрын
Glad to help👍 Can you add a 1/4 cup of vegetable oil after 3 minutes into the cycle to lubricate the pump seal? That may do the trick. You might need a new circulation pump capacitor from Miele USA.
@billduggan84258 ай бұрын
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Yes already did the veggie oil several loads ago, and increased the jetdry to 6. Today its locked up again and fork trick not budging impeller, its totally jammed up, tried turning with pliers and actually broke off some of the plastic vane. Machine is filling just fine but am getting Fault Code 8 "water intake fail". Its a G 863 Plus Type HG01, I think installed in 2005.

Hey Scott, great videos you have offered to us, thanks. I have a 21 year old Miele G 894 SCi Plus that only enters the beginning of the normal wash cycle and nothing else happens. You can hear something start whirring but it does not progress. I tried the "special tool" to see if the circulation pump impeller moves quite a few times now. It didn't move and I'm starting to think that I may have slightly damaged the two fins that are exposed. Tried the hot water & veggie oil but that failed also. Is it time to pull the unit out, flip it over and look for the impeller/motor access or start looking for a new dishwasher? Nearest Miele tech is an hour+ away and only comes out this way once a month.(he was out this way 2 days ago so it will be at least another month, if possible) It has been 21 years of regular service without any problems. This model does not show error codes. The intake/drain light stays dark. The start/stop button will not turn the "whirring" off. Only "unlocking" button disengages the whirring sound. The control circuit board is not available from Miele anymore. Do I have a dead horse? Thank you very much for your help on this.

Hi Gregg, I wonder if the drip plate below the dishwasher is flooded and the drain pump is making the whirring sound. Does it let any water in during the beginning?
@greggarten Жыл бұрын
Howdy and thanks for the quick reply. I can not see the drip plate and after shaking it a bit, I don't hear any water down there. No water comes into the inside while the whirrring is happening. The whirring only stops when you "unlock" the door to open it or cutting the power (either unplug or throwing the breaker). The more I get into this, the more I'm thinking "we've done the easy fixes and ruled things out." Now getting into the more complicated things and I may not be able to get parts.

Do you have any idea on how to fix a Miele dryer wherein the door release button does not function? You have to or open the door manually whihc is a slight inconvenience. There are no issues with the overall function of the machine.

Scott i have a question regarding a inlet/drain light flashing. The drain portion of the cycle works fine, but the inlet water level definitely does not reach the sump cover handle. The circ pump makes several start and stop loud attempts to work before the cycle pauses and then the drain/inlet light flashes. Also I flushed out the inlet filter screen, but it wasn't very cruddy at all. Could you tell me your thoughts?

I think it’s time to replace the water inlet valve👍

Scott, we have a Miele Futura classic that had an F70 fault. We did exactly as you said in one of your videos and pulled drain pan and put it on blocks. The leak is coming from the square drain pump on the bottom of the circulation pump - any ideas how to fix.

You’re right, time for a new partition kit👍

Hi Scott, my G4210 has a narrow opening so I can only insert a bottlewasher into the cavity. I have encountered resistance, but it does move a little. Still getting inlet light 5 flashes then solid. The water drains, tries to fill (reaches 2 inches below filter handle). Used to repeat until I end the program by long press of the play/pause button. Since opening the machine and cleaning the contacts, the drain fill cycle operates only once before sitting at program timer -1. Opening the underside showed no leaking, all contacts were in good condition. I could not access the impeller as I did not want to damage the circulation assembly. Is it time to give Miele my money?

mine spins fine, it drains fine, i can hear it draining into the sink. I can pour a gallonf of hot water from the tap into the dishwasher, run it, and its beginning drain cycle it'll drain all the water out. But i'm still getting error F78. help me man

I think a new circulation motor capacitor will do the trick👍
@schlomoshekelstein9082 жыл бұрын
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Ahh. capacitor I didn't even think to check it when I had it apart. When I took it apart i noticed the impeller was 2 pieces? an induction/tophat funnel and then the impeller head. googling says this is supposed to be one piece and theres like 4-5 threads of people talking about epoxying it with special glue and whatnot. Is this a thing? if i fix the capacitor am I possibly going to run into an F14 issue because of this? Do you have a source for parts for these things? It's a Miele G5975 and I can't even find a replacement motor on ebay or anything. that's my bad for buying 'high quality' i found myself in the market where nobody gives a f and they can afford to just buy a new one instead of stocking parts. I could have bought 5 Bosches for the price of this 'Made in Germany' Miele. Lesson learned. Buy the GM/Chevy 350, not the mercedes
@FastFreeFixes2 жыл бұрын
So, that impeller is the problem . I would epoxy those two pieces back together.
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel2 жыл бұрын
It’s sometimes caused by an impeller that has broken into 2 pieces.
