One of the reasons that I love MKWii so much is just because of how every unlockable character has something to do. It made unlocking the most difficult characters awesome and brought so much to Mario kart. It wasn’t just to race and come first, the single player was actually tons of fun just because of the unlockables. But yea MKWii is the best and I just really like Mario kart

It sucks very badly starting out MK8 Deluxe with nothing to strive toward or unlock. Every character accessible from the start. I mean Karts you have to unlock but once you unlock Mr Scooty and Biddy Buggy with the red and blue wheels, there is literally nothing else to unlock that is substantial which is extremely unfortunate.

honestly, aalthough I missed mission mode from DS, the main issue I had with 7 was the lack of VS mode. In pretty much every other Mario Kart, VS allowed you to play any track you wanted without being locked to the cups. 7 only had the grand prix, and that killed it for me.

This was a drag race course instead of a lap based one, so it made the race last only a minute. I'm sure you can look it up on KZbin. Just put in Wuhu exploit or glitch.

@@lesbianbush Not only do I just have a personal attachment to it, but it has my favorite balance with the item randomness, it's not too chaotic and unfair like Wii, but not too easy like 8 and especially 8 Deluxe. It feels like it encourages just the right amount of skill while still being super fun, which the other games I mentioned definitely are. It was the first game in the series I played as a dumb kid who was bad at video games where I actually felt myself getting better at it instead of dealing with the insanity of Mario Kart Wii. Not only all that, but I just adore the track lineup. The selection of retro tracks is fantastic, it has the best Rainbow Road in the history of the series, and the Wuhu tracks are fantastic. The ones Scott referred to as lame or forgettable I personally found to be at least pretty good. Sorry for the drawn-out explanation, but I just love this game, though I do understand Scott's issues with it, they just don't bother me and in some cases aren't even problems to me at all.

The biggest L I ever took was buying the 3ds new for like $350 and then a week later they lowered the price to like $150. I haven’t played seven myself, but I do have eight, and I agree with Scott here. Yes, there is a level of optimization to be had, but the difference is generally too small for it to feel significant.

I remember when I first saw Mario Kart 8, it was like "DUUUDE YOU CAN DRIVE UPSIDE DOWN" but when you get to play it, you literally can't notice a difference

@Cosmo Yeah, it's something that easily adaptable to. Maybe it's because I played through Wii (again) shortly before 8 that it seemed a bit slow, since there''s not as many opportunities for consistent boosting in the latter.
