I love my 2010 Rav4 with the "ugly tire on the back" 😅. Having the tire on the back gives me an extra secret storage area that no one is the wiser about! I can fit all my work stuff in it.
@gjw454 жыл бұрын
Yep, me too. I have the 2007 model, and I use the secret storage space more than any other feature on the car. Not only for storage and hiding things, but when I rip the lid off, I can fit 2 Mountain bikes inside with ease, as long as the wheels are turned sideways. I was going to update a few years ago, but I have decided to keep and run this car into the ground. It's great for my lifestyle at the moment, which is cycling....and a lot of taking the dog to the beach. The newer ones are not an option for me at this stage. Anyway, having newer cars suck. You always have to worry about them and where you park them, I don't think I will buy new ever again.

Pimpin Truelife I think the new RAV4s are good but for me, I find them a little too big and just like all the other small to midsize SUVs out there. Oh well, I think our next car will be a plug-in sedan, time to change our ways and save gas money.

I am amazed with this vehicle,I bought one for my wife and never had any problems five years. It’s sad I will sell my American car which broke down constantly and buy Toyota / Lexus from now on

I'm about to sell my last America car. Acadia. 98k miles and the AC goes out. Not covered under warranty. I had a s10 blazer that I put 300k miles on never a problem. Bought a new more expensive car from Chevrolet and the quality sucks. Toyota from her on out

Still have our 2008 v6 4wd rav4. Just crossed 200k miles. Had to get the front struts and front passenger side cv fixed. Dramatically improved the handling and back to being very quick and nimble. 260 hp. It rocks!! Can’t get it in v6 anymore I think. That Lexus engine is great.

I have a 2011 (2.5 2AR-FE) AWD and a brand new 2021 XLE AWD RAV4. Both are excellent! A few thoughts, if I were buying one from each of the various generations this very minute: The first generation models are too old at this point and way too high mileage and especially around here. The second generation had too many consistent problems, between ECU early on and 2AZ engine later on. The 3rd generation, while problematic early in it’s run, is rock solid after the 2009 refresh especially. My 2011 is of this updated vintage and no major problems to speak of. The 4th generation is mechanically sound, but physically looks too feminine for my liking. Your tastes may vary. The 5th generation looks back to form physically with the more rugged and masculine appearance. By the 2021 model year, the initial bugs have apparently been worked out and my 2021 XLE has been great so far. We will see what the future holds, but early experiences have been excellent!

My 2014 XA40, @ 66k miles, has been almost perfect. The only “major repair” was the a/c blower replaced…$70 and about an hour and a half of my time versus the $395 the stealership was charging. Great wagon, good power, very well built.

I agree 100% i bought a 2012 Rav4 from Hertz with 21k on it. Today over 175k and still going strong. Changed plugs, oil, brakes, belt and O2 sensors, oil and air filters only. Did transmission oil at 100k & 150k. I use it every day for service work with five to eight stops a day. Think of how many times i have started up that car. I have taken it to Maine many times on hunting trips in horrible weather with snow and ice on back country logging roads. I only use Yokohama AT-S all terrain tires. They always go 50k and nothing can stop them. As a matter of fact i need to order two more soon. Using oil now at an accelerated rate but nothing that i can't live with.

I bought a brand new 2015 back in 2015, xle rav 4, 40k miles now, 2 wheel drive. Transmission a little jerky and misses, ac can be loud, no power and still a bit small for me. But been in some close calls with car accidents and car took care of me well ok on gas and I have had no real issues. Planning on keeping it that why I bought it in the first place for the long run. So far so good.
