+Scotty Kilmer think you can test a 2010+ Jaguar XJ, XJL, XF or XFR with an NA 5.0 V8 or supercharged 5.0L? I’ve heard these vehicles have turned them around as far as reliability and can be had decent for relatively cheap. They have ZF 6sp autos. These are GDI but I still see plenty of them around…

TOYOTA DEALER SCAM. I bought a 24 Camry. Getting closer to my 1st 5000 mile oil change. I asked if they used full synthetic that toyota requires . No we use synthetic blend Sorry synthetic blends can contain as little as 10% synthetic. However we will put in full synthetic for a $19 surcharge. I don't believe 16W blend exists. I understand why toyota is offering 2 "free 10k oil changes" eg to increase resale value of 3 yr lease vehicles. This is total crap 5k recommended oil change with 16W full synthetic Or FREE 10k 20W oil changes or pay $19 surcharge BTW $150 is their rate to do an oil change. Looks. Like the bean counters are taking over toyota And take a look at the tiny 2year battery they install. Last I checked a 5 qr jug of mobil 1 full synthetic 16W was under $30 at Walmart

It's been reliable as a wood burning stowe, still looks gorgeous, to me me at least, and is still very fun to drive in the corners. Thought about upgrading to something new, but just don't see the point, especially with all the downsized engines and touch screen everything 🤣

Very few people actually “needs” all wheel drive. When I lived in Denver I learned that snow tires on a two wheel drive car did far better than an awd without. We first experienced this when my wife’s Subaru Forester spun in a circle three times while we tried to make u-turn which caused us to laugh our asses off because there wasn’t anything we could do except wait. If you “need” awd get a 4x4.

@cardo1111
@cardo1111 2 жыл бұрын
Well said. I live in the NY Metro burbs and completely agree with you. Here everyone thinks they need an AWD vehicle some years we get hardly any snow, some a little heavier snowfall. I have found a good set of stud-less dedicated winter or all weather tires will get you through nearly any snow conditions. The only issue is if it is a heavy snowfall and the roads were not plowed yet or the plow truck left some high spots on the road while turning etc. in a standard sedan ground clearance or lack thereof can be an issue.

Yes you're right tires make a huge difference. But awd with winter tires will always beat a front wheel drive with winter tires. I do lots of snowboarding, rock climbing, cross country skiing, etc where the terrain isn't the most friendly and I've driven fwd with winter tires and had the car slip on me. But yea I really agree for sure most people actually don't even need suv's yet they still buy them.

That being said...be careful with the turbo cx7s. I've done a lotttt of turbos, a lotttt of transfer cases (they leak), and just as many timing chains. If you're getting a cx7, get the 2.5l 2wd. They even have their own slogan, "zoom, zoom, boom." Rx-8 engines are also problematic. If you can find a nice 2013 to 2016 cx5, that's the ticket. The skyactiv engines of those years are great.

@@chicoandthem4n So, the regular engine is around 175hp.. and entry level AWD is roughly 32k.. The turbo & transmission have exceptional warranties for 5years/60k. I believe the turbo is covered for 75k miles.. and my old Mazda MX-6 Turbo(s) I owned 3 different vehicles (same model) Never had one issue with any of the turbo housing, cooling.. I think Mazda is fully owned by Toyota. These vehicles are built better then any German 40k dollar SUV's. I never once had a single issue with any of my Mazda 4cyl TURBO engines or turbocharged units. The car gets another 109hp.. which makes the car a great deal of fun to drive. Feels like you are driving a Sports car. Handling, reliability and resale are great. Also every CX-5 is made in Japan, not US, Mexico or Canada. Mazda won SUV of the year for 2020. Its very much worth the extra $27/$30 month extra. If you go for the CX-5 Sport AwD or front wheel drive, you can get a lease. 1000 down, 249/mo for 3yrs/36k. Also price is 5700 cheaper. For basic CX-5.. they are all made, manufactured in Japan 100%.. if you don't mind 175hp.. go with CX-5 Sport. You will get a spectacular deal and they are a great deal of fun to drive and the reliability is top tier quality

Excellent video Scotty as usual. Times are really changing fast. Ever heard of a ODBLink MX+, it’s around $140 and does everything the XTool does if you pair it with your windows laptop and Forscan (1-year license is $12, yes that’s 😱$12). Better yet this Bluetooth scan tool pairs with IOS, Windows and even Android. So I planning on upgrading to an Android T’Eyes CC3 2K head unit so I can display engine telemetry on demand. Other available options on the CC3 head unit aren’t even available on most 2023 model cars without a serious premium. The MX+ also works with Versatune tuning software for Ford/Mazda vehicles if you want to hop up your vehicle.

The noise appears in the morning when I start the car and move (there is no noise if the car is stationary) and it disappears after less than a minute of driving. it is like a loud but not consistent squeaky noise that is very disturbing. but it just goes away quickly and it won't happen if the engine is warm apparently.
