I bought one from the dealer brand new back in 2014 when I didn't know any better. But my wife liked it so much, she ended up driving it to and from her workplace. By the time she accumulated 90,000 miles on it, she gave it back to me, and I kept driving it up to 145,000 miles until I traded it for a new vehicle. There was nothing wrong with it. I could have kept accumulating miles on it because all the maintenance was done at the dealer. I am treating the new vehicle the same way. I've had an Outlander Sport since 2014 with no major issues till this year (driven mostly in PA and the exhaust is now shot). While I consider Mitsubishi to be average, I will say they make great air conditioners. We've since moved to Texas and the AC keeps us quite chilly. I'm willing to buy another Mitsubishi based on my experience with the AC alone.

I've had a 2008 EVO Lancer GSR since new. After 250,000km, it needed a new clutch and a turbo. The turbo was still working but a check of the bearings showed that it was about due for replacement. These are both wear items IMO, so I was OK with that. The only thing that bothered me was the AYC pump, which had to be replaced 3 times. The third one was relocated from behind the rear differential to inside the trunk, and it never gave any problems after that. Mitsubishi should have replaced the first two under warrantee, but they didn't which is why I think that 10year/100k warrantee is completely fraudulent. Otherwise, the car is great and I still drive it today.

I had a 2011 Outlander SE that I drove for 9 years, putting around 160k miles on it. Got close to 30mpg on long highway trips, which was great for that generation. Engine was never a problem. I also found it very comfortable, especially as a tall driver. My biggest issues were no local dealer (two had either stopped handling Mitsubishi or shutdown altogether) and ability to get parts. At the end, the cost of some of the suspension and exhaust items I needed were more than the car was worth. They had sold so few of them in the US from those years (< 10k/yr), that it was difficult to get parts when I needed them.
