I’ll make one for you. 5733-2 was advised to wait for 2876 to enter the room. Once 2876 entered, he unlocked the door and began to pin down the slasher and bludge him to death with a candlelight. A second copy of the slasher appeared, 2876 used the knife of the downed slasher to stab both slashers. 2876 and 5733-2 went to the police station to report the attempted murder. The camera cut the the slasher being arrested by the police, and it one again cut to the slasher being sentenced to life in prison. SCP 5733-2 thanks 2876 and he disappears into another story. The tape goes black. When replayed, SCP 5733-2 no longer asked the subject for help, but instead waited for scp 2876. However, 2876 was still contained in its own story while the tape was being replayed. It seemed that when 5733-2 was finally saved, 5733’s tape was locked to that plot. 5733 was classified as neutralized.

It's so sad, a Part II is needed, especially for those who aren't as familiar with the lore of the SCP Foundation Universe. All the man wants to do is help people, even if they're fictional, and also why does The Foundation always crush the spirits of genuinely good SCP's, so sad, so so sad.

I can understand that, especially with 2786 not being able to distinguish between fictional narratives and physical beings; however, what would happen if whatever fictional media he was trapped in was placed inside of SCP 914 "The Clockwork" on Very Fine. Would he become a physical being, and his reality-altering abilities carry over, these are the questions. SCP 2786 just needs a session with a highly skilled therapist, he's sad and lonely it seems, using his heroism as compensation for what he's lacking.

You’ve covered a lot of amazing SCPs on this channel, though I’m going to make a bit of a “reverse request” here. If there is an SCP you shouldn’t do a video on, don’t do SCP 3939. Not because it’s boring, or it isn’t interesting enough to do a video on… it’s because this SCP won’t translate well to a video format. 3939 is stylized as a “choose your own adventure” type narrative and as such, will not translate well to a video style like what is done on this channel. You guys do incredible work here, and I would hate to see your writers get a headache over how to “translate” this one. That said- keep up the great work and looking forward to future content

Those who feel sympathy for this one, really don't. This one actively tries to warp the narrative. In fact, the RAISA documentation goes so far as to say the SCP "is believed to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder and delusions of grandeur". It is a representation of the Hero's Journey Archetype. Ironically enough, the Foundation itself outplayed the "hero" who never really was the hero to begin with. Furthermore, the best explanation for such heightened self-worth may be due to the fact that the archetype is perhaps the most overused element in fictional narratives in the history of literature. But it also leads to a sense of denial and pettiness the likes of which could be akin to that of a spoiled young child with a victim complex and deep, deep pervasiveness of insecurity and pretentiousness. Narratively, if properly done, it is perhaps the most versatile and (arguably) relatable trope there is. But if it's a 2786, then it is very much what I call a "Narrative Killer" or "Story breaker". Unlike its "A Hero is Born" or "Self-Insert Character" forbearers is they stand to indulge or at least make minor alterations to a larger narrative like a CYOA or cameos, which are arguably just as, if not more so, versatile as the Hero's Journey Archetype.

Bullshit. He was doing what he felt was right, saving lives which may not be "real" to us but were real to him. Then the Foundation came in and fucked it all up. Narcissistic personality disorder and delusions of grandeur? Likely never would have cropped up until after they ruined him and his purpose. They did this to him because they knew he would be hostile to them because of their lack of morals.

Fair enough, although the fact the Hero's Journey Archetype is overused may explain why it has such a high degree in self worth, self importance, and overt arrogance. But even for this anomaly, I agree it is a kind of cruel and unusual thing...but I'd argue the fact the journey never ends is a kind of cruel thing itself, especially if the narrative continues to warp, change and is therefore never truly resolved.

Of course they do. Their main goal is to maintain normalcy. To keep anything different from the status quo away from the public, no matter how bad or good or is. Basically a bunch of people being afraid of the truth of the world coming out. Which is why I liked the scp where an alternate universe made contact with the "main" one. Where all scps were public knowledge, and most of them even integrated into society. A nice little view into what was probably the best and most idealistic version of the scp universe.

SCP 6500 actually takes note of that, and it goes about bettering the foundation as their actions actually start to cause a “death of magic” scenario and the O5’s vanish after giving directions to the foundations, numerous agents rebel against the overseers and go on the mission set by the O5 and stop the end. Numerous non dangerous Skips are freed, many artifacts and books given to the Serpents in the Library, animals given to Wilson’s Wildlife Solutions and I’m pretty sure a lot of sentient Skips are allowed to leave and live in Three Portland’s.

This. This is the exact story I had been planning to write on the scp wiki. Couldn't do it because of the end sem finals. Universe works in mysterious ways. I was even going to call it the hero. Whose appearance matches the observers idea of a hero with no fixed race or gender. He/ she is mysteriously present at the place of trouble and strangely aquires the exact skill or knowledge to overcome that specific obstacle.

The following documentation has been flagged as COMPROMISED by SCP-2786's effects. Due to the nature of the anomaly, this has been deemed safe for reading for the time being. However, contents of the article may fluctuate between readings and may or may not be considered accurate at this time. Click below to initiate recalibration sequence. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. SCP-2786 Object Class: Keter Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2786 is currently held within a provisional enhanced containment complex, as per review of the Site-180 Director. Due to the nature of SCP-2786, all personnel assigned to the study and reconnaissance of the anomaly are to exhibit extreme caution during testing. Description: SCP-2786 is the designation for a metaphysical entity narrative-based bipedal humanoid of indeterminate age, sex and appearance. SCP-2786 will be idiosyncratically perceived by any being that interacts with it, varying in traits from interaction to interaction. SCP-2786 displays symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and appears fantasy-prone, often having difficulty distinguishing between internal landscapes, narrative works and physical being. SCP-2786's nature was first brought to the attention of the Foundation when several forms of horror media were found to have been illegally altered in a means that did not coincide with standard editing equipment. Upon closer observation, all narratives altered in this manner involved substantially changing the plot to include SCP-2786, who is always perceived as a protagonist or "Deus ex machina" character. SCP-2786's presence within a story ultimately disrupts the flow of events, leading to different (and often positive) endings. SCP-2786's actions within various media suggests it may have a mild form of precognition or anomalous intuition, often preventing characters from progressing the plot in a way that avoids danger entirely. Addendum 2786-1-1A: List of alterations Affected Works Notable Alterations The Shining (Film), 1980 Film is without alteration until halfway through, during a scene in which two characters venture into a hedge maze; SCP-2786 is seen briefly in the background, observing the individuals. Entity moves off camera and is not seen until twenty minutes later. SCP-2786 reappears in the Overlook Hotel, approaching antagonist Jack Torrence from behind. Torrence is seen drinking and conversing with the ghost of a dead bartender. SCP-2786 takes the antagonist's drink, pours it out, and hits him over the head with the glass. The tumbler shatters on impact, Torrence falling from his seat and onto the floor, outside the camera frame. SCP-2786 is briefly seen peering downward, but turns and walks off camera a moment later. The rest of the Torrence family is then escorted off the Overlook's premises by the entity and into the blizzard. Camera cuts to epilogue, Danny and Wendy Torrence in a new studio apartment and apparently doing well. Movie ends forty-five minutes early. Silent Hill (Film), 2006 SCP-2786 manifests early on, warning main character Rose not to bring her daughter to Silent Hill. After it becomes apparent that they are adamant about going, SCP-2786 frowns and disappears off camera. Some time later, Rose goes to start her car only to find it non-functioning for an unknown reason. Unable to make the trip, Rose and her daughter stay inside and build a one thousand piece jigsaw puzzle of a lighthouse until the movie abruptly ends. House of Leaves (Novel), 2000 SCP-2786 appears in the Navidson metanarrative, confronting Karen and insisting she and her family avoid moving to Ash Tree Lane. Karen convinces her husband and the Navidson Record ceases to exist for the remainder of the story. Narrator/protagonist Johnny Truant is no longer negatively affected by the material, going on to describe his life at the tattoo parlor, which seems improved by SCP-2786's presence. Entity is referred to as "HERO" throughout the story, which ends three hundred pages early. Cabin in the Woods (Film), 2012 While not seen right away, SCP-2786 appears shortly into the film, posing as one of the college kids heading to a remote cabin vacation as a group. No characters refer to the entity by name or gender, but do not seem fazed by its presence and react with candor. SCP-2786 attempts to stop the characters from interacting with one of the many cursed items in the basement of the cabin, including the diary of the late Patience Buckner, an event that would otherwise go on to resurrect the undead corpses of her and her family. Unfortunately, SCP-2786 was unable to keep one of the main characters, Marty, from inspecting a set of negatives on a vintage projector reel, setting in motion the release of a large lycanthrope which proceeds to maul one of the teenagers. SCP-2786 appears to pull the creature off of the character, grabbing a spoon from a set of vintage silver cutlery found conveinently nearby and stabbing multiple times until it expires. Film ends without mention of B plot, the final scene detailing their escape from the woods and recounting of the event from the table of a fast-food restaurant in what is presumably a future date. Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Video game), 2010 In affected copy of the game, player was greeted by SCP-2786 when the protagonist Daniel awakens on the floor of Castle Brennenberg without his memory. SCP-2786 addresses the character directly and not the player, insisting they "Sit this one out". SCP-2786 proceeds to progress through the game, the camera following it despite no further dialogue on the character's end, suggesting they were left behind. Player is unable to control any game functions aside from pausing the game, during which SCP-2786 is seen loitering in the background and appearing impatient. Completion of game by SCP-2786 is done swiftly, the entity brute-forcing most puzzles and interacting with the environment in a way that is not possible for the player. Upon encountering a Gatherer, SCP-2786 is heard snorting before brandishing a handgun from an unknown source, which proves effective in terminating the usually impervious enemies. Game proceeds in this manner until SCP-2786 confronts and kills main antagonist Alexander Brennenberg, after which it appears to flex for no one in particular, sigh, and then walk off camera. Game credits roll shortly thereafter.

Let's look this over again... SCP-5733's monster, the "Suburb Slasher, seems to always be as intelligent as the viewer instructing Heather on how to escape the situation. That said, SCP-5733 is challenging the viewer, itself. At the same time, SCP-5733 seems to always know instantly how to defeat a narrative's antagonist. Considering the fact the Suburb Slasher may copy a viewer with above regular human abilities (such as Agent Bennett with her thaumaturgy), it'd be an interestimg fight for sure.

@@ahitfan1captaina I'm pretty sure SCP-1230 only wants whoever reads it to be the hero. If SCP-2786 would try to force it, there is a 50% chance they'd be enemies. For SCP-423 (Fred), he'd tolerate SCP-2786's existance as long as he is not bothered since Fred only wants to be a Background Character that is not involved with major plotlines of stories.

Undertale is better in every way, from writing to music to gameplay. Also some of Oneshot's fourth-wall breaking puzzles would either break his head open like a Kinder Surprise egg or make him feel more Hollow, but that's besides the point. - SCP *[REDACTED]* (pending official classification)

Of all the games you want SCP-2876 to go to you want the one that has a narrative built to trick the Player? Despite it being able to know the solution instantly, what would happen if SCP-2786 still decides killing is the answer? You ahould already know that in an Amnesia Game he invaded, he not only brute-forced and bypassed many puzzles you should do in Amnesia to progress the Game but he also defeated the Final Boss with a firearm that shouldn't even be in the Game.

If it were me, a Foundation research, tasked with bringing in this "Hero". I'd make a Villain. I'd make a story almost seamless with a world so much like our own. Where We are in control. Creating dialogues designed to break through and posion SCP-2786's mind just enough to break through the walls of media and bleed inkly into a descriptive cell on paper. This is all to say, SCP-001 isn't the most plausible proof of concept used with Anomalies possessing Fiction warping Traits.

They kind of just rewrite stories to have no real suspense and make the villains unable to have any impact. The reason why they're extremely dangerous to the SCP organization is well, they're also fictional so they have the capability of undoing the necessary evils that the SCP organization has to commit. They were releasing D-class personnel which, yeah D-class get treated harsher than they should, but they were still (in large) the villains of their own stories as they're all convicted of horrible crimes each (at least they're supposed to all be death-row criminals and such) so I feel like this SCP unfortunately has tunnel vision and would be very, very difficult to control in a productive manner.
