SCP-6001 - Avalon (SCP Animation)

SCP 6001 is an Esoteric Class anomaly also known as Avalon.
SCP-6001 is an .0083917743 µm micro-singularity located in Tokyo, Japan and in another Tokyo, Japan. SCP6001 connects to a parallel universe hereafter known as A6K. Compared to baseline reality, A6K possesses nearly identical base components, including locations, individuals, and phenom. However, SCP 6001 's counterparts will often differ wildly in terms of complex characteristics and behavior.
The most commonly observed divergences within A6K include lack of cooperation, increased scientific and technological repression, and heightened paranoia, aggression and violence in near-to-all sentient elements. It is unclear if these differences are purely causal, or derived from the nature of A6K itself.
While the dominant scientific institution of A6K, known as the "SCP Foundation", is aware of Phenom 6001, they are incapable of transgressing into our reality due to their limited understanding, and the aperture's infinitesimal size.

Very Rarely do we get a hopeful SCP that shows the possible wonders they could acheive if they did go public. I really love the idea this SCP explores: a utopia that not only survives, but because of paranormal groups like the Foundation, Thrives. Well that, and who wouldn't want things like universal health care? What makes this feel like a pipedream is The Broken Masquerade Canon, where they did go public, and the public started tearing them down simply not knowing how else to respond. Nevertheless, this is a future I would love to see in my lifetime. No more chaos, no more conflict. Just everlasting world peace. That would be a world worth living in.

The problem is that 'world peace' would never happen. People have too disparate of viewpoints on various subjects from sexual to general moral. The only way world peace would happen is if everyone was mind controlled and had the same viewpoints on all subjects.

However, I do think it sadly comes at the cost of the loss of sociocultural differences and individuality. The reason why we have conflict and chaos is because everyone is different and no one respects or agrees with each other all the time. To eliminate conflict, we must eliminate differences. However, do you think it's still humane to eliminate one of the primary things which make us human simply to force cooperation, bliss, and happiness among us? I do think there are alternate solutions to our current problems, those which require only little semi-Orwellian approaches.

I also think, to some extent, people almost enjoy hardship at least on a sub concious level. We constantly fight an up hill battle because to do otherwise life would become mundane. If you climbed Mount Everest, would you feel fulfilled by duch a feat for the rest of your life or would you soon need to look for another goal to achieve

World Peace can be achieved if only those at the top are prevalent enough to take granted society benefits like better salary, better health care, better humanitarian aid and better caring for mother nature. We would at least reduced the problem we have if people are more leaning towards the benefits of each other. But sadly it can't be done. SCP-6001 reminds me of the short story of SCP-500... Where the entire O5-council killed each other for the last pill. And after the last pill was taken it automatically refilled itself with a perscription note stating "Refill limit: Infinite".... meaning if the SCP organiation actually tried to experiment on it for the better of humanity they could have. I like to image this is what happened in 6001 and they found out that 500 had infinite refills which is why the entire human race has the cure for anything

Man, the Foundation finds enough conflicting evidence when it comes to alternate realities. Sure, some of them are paradise, but just as many others are worse hellscapes than the SCP universe itself. Periodically, they'll find one (or more) that are just... the same, though. I forget which, but there is a tunnel or hallway in one of the Sites that links to another reality in each direction, but they are so similar, it takes a bunch of repetitions to figure out it's not a simple looping tunnel. With all that, it's a wonder the Foundation does not simply close off/concrete over any doorways to alternate realities they find.

Yeah, kinda same. Seems really weird that SCPs such as 173 would ever become peaceful, but it is still a very nice story. If they'd only keep the clearly dangerous SCPs locked up and released all the ones that are willing to cooperate (after very carefully checking whether they're lying just to get out and wreak havoc) it could lead to a utopia not very different from this alternate universe.

Think about the GALACTIC EMPIRE in Star Wars for an example of that. What if things are wonderful for a while then some corrupt selfish greedy people start to take control. A system like this lacks the necessary CHECKS AND BALANCES that a government needs to help prevent that horrible fate. Its the metaphor of "all the eggs in one basket" to the Nth degree....

I have an issue with this whole, "When one day they are ready to ask for help..." How is this supposed to happen if the Foundation hides as much as possible from the world? The only people who would know about this would be connected to Foundation in some way. I am pretty sure that if given the opportunity to seek out help from an alternative reality where world peace was achieved, lots of people who agree to ask for that help.

I love the alternate reality with the talking animals, although if I had to change one thing, it would be that the cat responded by saying When In Rome Do As The Vandals which is actually in reference to a punk rock band's album and the name of the band is actually The Vandals and I also think that it would be cool if everybody was considered equal in that reality and had the exact same amount of power as every other creature. I'm a fan if this one, not of fan of how Primrose, at least in the actual story, seems to kind of suggest that the only reason our universe (or I guess the mainstream SCP universe, for lack of a better term) isn't also a paradise is because we're just so dang mean and mistrusting of these anomalies. Like, no. I get that your world is pretty sweet, but no, that's just blatantly and dangerously wrong. There are a great many anomalies that would respond to this whole friendly "Want to work together for a better world?" offer by immediately taking advantage of it to cause as much damage as possible. The idea that nearly every single anomaly that's dangerous is only that way because we humans are just so darn mean is just ridiculous to me. If that's true, then wouldn't that mean there should never have been any examples of anomalies hurting or killing people when uncontained? Because those ones aren't being mistreated by the Foundation, but they're still killing people. Also, how staggeringly arrogant of the CPI to decide that our abundance of problems is a reason to withhold aid. Shouldn't that specifically be a reason to try to aid them? Who looks at a bad situation and decides "You don't deserve my help until you don't need it"?

A lot got skipped over and some errors. I think sticking more to the original narrative flow of the SCP would have made for a better video too. I know you guys prefer the shorter method to churn these out faster (and you surprisingly do a good job on your scripts), you might want to consider putting in longer projects for some SCPs. And give them the proper attention so you don't make the same mistakes like you did in Ouroboros Cycle. As for the SCP itself, it is interesting in some aspects. I do find it a bit too idealistic, but seeing how peace was made with certain SCPs was neat to read.

I heard of this SCP from another KZbin channel and I love the tale that came with this SCP, how a scientist and a cat from two different worlds and might of been or was fiends with the other’s alternate universe self that had died basically become reacquainted as those in charge of Avalon where one being is from decide if the other world should be aware and welcome to their universe and thus decide if the two friends will be able to see each other again or not.

the easiest answer is not every universe has every single scp. many of the scp entries are kind of counter to each other, especially ones where the world ends in the description or the foundation changes forever in testing. the kitchen sink answer is they are now friends with an incredibly large number of high class reality warpers.

as much as I like the concept of this scp, the execution in the article is just plainly off. The Avalon world simply sits and judges the main scp timeline for not being perfect when, by all accounts, the scp’s of the Avalon timeline seem to be weaker/ more neutral to humanity. Unlike Avalon, in the main world every instance of the foundation foolishly locking up or destroying a scp is paired with 4 or more examples of a outwardly hostile scp they can’t afford to be nice toward, or a story where their want to not be as harsh as possible bites them in the butt. It’s very clear that Avalon has nothing close to something like the flesh that hates, and the constant mocking of the main timeline becomes grating 1/4 of the way through the story
