The misdirection: they want you to think of some sort of clothing or the like that may be flattering for a woman to wear. The actual clue: some men think their wives look better when they can't see them than when they can.

Back in the 80s and early 90s, yes. It aired in the mornings on NBC. And aired the reruns on the USA Network.

@@darrendoyle568 That's because USA didn't rerun any episode beyond September 14, 1989, so we didn't get to even see the Jay Stewart mourning tribute episode, which took place beyond September 14, 1989.
