Tatum's death always gets me and sticks with me because of the choice Rose McGowan made with those final moments. She told Wes Craven she couldn't scream high pitched like the other actresses, her voice was too low. So she was allowed to do it differently and right before her head gets crushed, you can see/hear her call out "Mom!" The fact that her last moments are spent calling for her mom just gets me. I'm so glad that you decided to react to this and I hope you decide to react to the rest of the series! You're in for a hell of a ride.

Love this movie! The opening scene was on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. When audiences saw the opening, they thought Drew Barrymore was going to be the hero. They were in for a shocking surprise.

The thing is with scream is that it was parodying scary movies while also showing their love for horror movies, which is why even though scary movie is great it doesn’t work as well because scream is already satire so that’s why you think ‘are we watching scary movie?’ Because things are a bit silly and they add comedy to it since it’s poking fun of horror movies which is the charm of scream

I like they also show Dawson creek Reference in all the scream movies. Dawson’s creek is based on Kevin Williamson life. The guy who wrote the scream movies that we all love. His life /Dawson creek is about a small town kid who just wanted to make horror movies. And he gave us one of the best ones

I hope you eventually get around to watching Halloween (1978), it's the one that started the slasher craze in the 80s. If it wasn't for Halloween's success, we wouldn't have Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, etc. Also, the principal doesn't hate kids, he actually cares a lot about them. He even says that he loves them over the P.A. He was hard on the pranksters because, yeah, what they were doing was offensive.

3:03 JV this movie started with what they call a “cold open” and it’s when you start a show/movie right away without any credits or a build up to the first intense scene. It’s meant to hook you. And Scream has one of the most iconic cold opens of all time. Every Bond film has a cold open. Especially in TV shows they have em so you weren’t tempted to change the channel. Often in mystery shows the crime happens in the cold open, and then the detectives solve the case after the intro.

Interesting facts: Drew Barrymore was originally going to be the final girl of the movie, but she decided to become the first kill. Which had to of been really shocking to see her die in theaters. Considering her popularity in the 90s and was on the poster. Also, Rose McGowan was able to fit through the cat door. They had to pin her shirt to make the struggle look convincing. Her death almost made the movie rating NC-17

Scream and Scary Movie are a great example of Satire vs Parody Scream is a horror movie in its own right, but it's also a satire of the horror tropes built up since 70s, especially slasher films. Scary Movie is a parody that takes the same concept and just gives it over the top jokes. Fun fact: one of the killers ("Blockbuster Guy") is Matthew Liliard, who would go on to play Shaggy in the Scooby Doo live action movies and voice Shaggy pretty much in every Scooby-Doo media since.

The great thing about Scream was it was so self aware, in that it even though it is a serious subject it constantly refers to old Horror films and makes reference to the plot of them etc. It also spawned superb sequels, each one of them is great too and well worth a watch. You gotta do the sequels, the writing is just so clever. Sarah Michelle Gellar ( Buffy herself! ) is in Scream 2. Really top female actors in all the Scream films Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox (the constants), Drew Barrymore, Rose McGowan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Heather Graham, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Rebecca Gayheart, Emily Mortimer, Emma Roberts, Hayden Pannettiere, Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, and they are just the one I can remember! The plots are just so clever you will love them.

When you're watching it's easier to tell during a re-watch when it's Billy under the costume and when it's Stu under the costume. Also when Sidney is attacked the first time, you can hear the killer saying Easy, Easy just like Stu as he's running up the stairs.(It's very very low though)

Just like watching Scream should be a prerequisite for watching Scary Movie, there are a number of movies that you should watch before you watch Scream. So much of Scream relies on the common tropes of horror movies, particular the slasher movies of the 80's, and having the prior knowledge of those tropes really helps enhance the experience of watching this movie.

PG-13 ratings do allow nudity so long as it is not sexually orientated. A good exaple of this is Titanic which was rated PG-13. Matter of fact, even PG films can contain nudity so long as it is relegated to a brief flash.

Friends ended in 2004 and came on in 1994. Scream cam out in 96 scream 2 98, scream 3 - 2000. Scream 2 and 3 were in the height of FRIENDS

This movie was based on a student murder spree that happened in my hometown in the early 90's. I grew up hearing the stories & we have a mural on campus dedicated to the students that lost their lives. Also, you can show everything in a PG-13 movie outside of the pelvic area.
