Im at the beginning of S2 and I think its pretty clear since the end of S1 who the killer in S2 is. Because the mother of Brandon James showed at Kieran on the picture, but for some reason they all forgot that. And his reaction when Emma told him his dad was murdered, was hilarious and nonexisting apart from the fact that everyone shows feelings differently. He seems continious very distant, disguised, unnatural, mysterious and lifeless tbh and his answers feel so briefly, impersonally and always exactly what Emma wants to hear. If I were Emma I would be real scared of this guy and I wouldnt feel like that he really loves me. I would have taken Will over Kieran any day, despite all his mistakes. Same with Mr. Branson, he is just like Kieran very scary to me. Piper was much better in hiding her true face imo

I loved Zoe too. I had a huge crush on her. Funny thing is that a couple years after I watched this 2nd season I actually ran into Kiana Lede (the actress) at Complexcon in LA. Literally bumped into her shoulder to shoulder in a crowd setting. We looked back at each other and she smiled. I knew I recognized her but it didn't hit me until about 10 minutes later that she was Zoe in Scream season 2 lol. Ugh... Now she's a famous pop singer.

I feel like the Halloween Special isn’t meant to be looked at as a the finale of the series, but more of an added bonus that was supposed to be filler before the third season arrived. This makes it even more sad that we never got a proper conclusion to this series though.

So...I was hardcore on the Kieran train. I loved the bad boy image and hoped that the image was just that, so when he was revealed to be a part of everything, I was actually devastated. AND THEN...to go back and watch it knowing that he is apart of it...it just makes that consent scene so much more sinister which sends shivers up your spine. I do only view this as a two season series because I truly thought the 3rd season was awful and I just really fell in love with these characters. I wanted to know more about them and see them again. I am curious to know what you think of season 3. I may go back and rewatch it because I may have been a tad salty the first time around lol I also dont acknowledge the Halloween episode so...Kieran is still sitting in jail for me because the Halloween episode was dumb.

A little late but great review. I love Audrey though! I can’t stand Emma, she makes poor decisions and is very annoying. I remember wishing they killed her off and made Brooke or Audrey the lead. I felt like Emma’s mum was super suss, she is tied to the original murders, possibly framed people to cover up her own spree and someone knows. Definitely think the psychiatrist not dying was because she would involved in some way in the real season 3 before that was cancelled. Felt like season 3 Audrey would have been a killer…her ties to Piper, the video in episode 1, her covering her tracks in season 2 and seeing her in the hood at the end of the season…I felt like she is hiding in plain sight, she’s so obvious you don’t really suspect her.

Okay! Yes I really enjoyed season 2 of scream and I'm so glad you reviewed it! I loved how heavy the horror easter eggs were in this season, from each episode being titled after a horror movie and the plot of the episode nodding to the movie it referenced to all of the Scream 2 parallels. I loved that they delved into the psychology side of horror, which I personally thought was a great direction for Emma and the season overall. Loved the gore, darker tone and creativity of the kills (especially the fake out deaths with Bobby Campo as Branson and that final destination nod) I also thought Audrey having a crush on Emma made alot of sense for her character, I thought it was very consistent with the way she interacted and viewed Emma from the beginning and I loved the "finale" with the two of them facing off against Kieran. Someone had pointed out that it was a gender swapped parallel of the finale of the first Scream movie with Billy and Stu and Sidney. Anyways, super badass and loved that for them (also Eli had mentioned that he called the cops and told them Kieran stabbed him, so when they arrived and arrested Kieran, it wasn't completely out of the blue) I really loved how Brooke and Noah bridged the connections of Stavo and Zoe to the core group. Those four were such a solid group together, considering how they all shared scenes and friendships with each other. Which is why despite loving Brooke, low key wish she reacted to Zoes death a little bit more, like, were you not best friends too?? I get that they gave all her emotional scenes towards Jake but I would have loved her alot more if that part of her character was consistent. Also really loved Anthony Ruivivar as Sheriff Acosta in addition to the Scream universe, peep him in AHS and Haunting of Hill House. Zoe is played by Kiana Lede who makes music! so be sure to check that out too. Back to the ending, I would have loved to have kept Kieran alive and in prison as sort of a Silence of the Lamb nod with Emma as Jodie Fosters character with Kieran helping her figure out the third killer from prison. But the Halloween special happened and ruined everything so we don't claim her. Fun fact, Carlson Young once said in an interview with the Witching Hour that if she had continued the storyline with S3, she would have killed everyone off 😌

Today, just finished watching these two seasons for the first time. I see every season of a television series as an absolute conclusion, a complete story. Every further season is just an extension, a further conclusion (just like sequels to a movie). With the first season and with this season, I'm given enough information to imagine my own conclusion (or what happens next) and answer any lingering questions or further my wonder of what will happen next or what the unseen dark hidden secrets really mean. I'll copy/paste my reddit post made today for what I theorize is happening: Maggie (aka Daisy) committed the 1994 murders. Emma is Brandon James' daughter. Kevin Duval knows this and that's why he left years ago, but he still cares about Emma, even though she's not technically his daughter by blood. As for Brandon James... still alive. He killed Kieran. He comes back to Lakewood, in disguise, made-over to be something like a Hollywood big-shot that impresses everyone and is there to gain his daughter's approval. But will Brandon resent Maggie for not speaking the truth about the murders she committed in his name? Will Brandon maintain his new disguise, setting up a big reveal for the "Duvals"? Will Brandon kill up to the reveal? Or is it the other James brother? Are they working together? Will Kevin Duval oppose Brandon, creating a tug-of-war for Emma's alliance/love? Two daddies, one daughter. Who will Emma love more?

We’re shown he had his mask up while talking to her then puts it on fully when she tries to go downstairs before he kills her. So was Kieran cheating with her or was the killer we’re left on a cliffhanger who kills Kieran the one?

(Ik I’m late ) but I think Emma’s dad killed Kieran for messing with her and her friends.. we know he was kinda violent which is why he went away and since he might of heard abt who tried to killed Emma he might of wanted to be a better dad and help her because if he claimed to have went back out of town… why was he at Kieran’s grave? It seems like he might of been keeping an eye on his daughter and her now ex bf… and for Brandon James I think he is alive and might be back.. or the James in the last episode might of been Brandon’s brother but I think more likely Brandon bc he did call Kieran and said who told u to wear my mask? So I think Brandon might have been watching everyone get killed but Emma’s Father ONLY KILLED KIERAN.. I think Brandon might be alive bc remember he got shot once and fell into the lake.. But piper got shot and fell into that lake once too and was still alive.. it was the 2nd shot that killed her … Brandon never got shot twice and he shot in like his shoulder area not somewhere life threatening.(Just my theory tho we won’t ever know unless years later they try to surprise us but most likely not because everyone focusing on Scream Movies with Jenna Ortega which I LOVE THEM TOO)sorry this was so long😂

I did have one last suspect I’m still suspicious of Stavo idk if he had visions but maybe the killer might have been linked to him bc how did he know b4 it happened unless Kieran found them and brought them to life.. ik Stavo was a huge horror fan too so he might of used his imagination but I don’t know for sure but he could have also killed Kieran not likely but he was the only other person besides Kieran and Emma who’s parent worked with the police so he could have known ways around the the police department that’s my only question that won’t be answered but yea I think it was still Emma’s dad that killed Kieran. Okay. So before you get into the Halloween Special (and before I watch it), I'm going to do a semi-detailed rundown of my opinions of each Scream movie, as well as the first two seasons of the show. Scream -- I... Didn't mind this? I guess. But I didn't see where the all the hype was, either. It felt exactly like every other slasher movie, but this time they point out the exact tropes they're going to do. I saw a few times in these Scream reviews where you said the first movie subverted the tropes it called out but the other stuff didn't, but... I don't know a single trope the first film subverted. It's part of why I really dislike the Scream franchise. Every movie, and both seasons 1 and 2 of the show, for that matter, do this weird meta thing that doesn't work at all, because they call out tropes and rules of horror and cinema in general, but then ALWAYS, follow those tropes. It's just the worst kind of meta for me. The only meta movie I thought worked was New Nightmare, where the actors, producers, and Wes Craven of the Elm Street series were playing themselves, but that the Elm Street films were a way to channel a demon, or that a demon attached itself to the films and became real. Another meta part I REALLY loved, is that the script for the movie Wes was writing in New Nightmare, was New Nightmare itself. It was the most meta meta thing to ever meta, but it worked on every level, because it makes you wonder if the events of the real life movie are themselves events within a fictional movie in a world very similar to ours. As for the characters... I didn't like a single one. I suppose maybe Sidney a little bit, but not much. I didn't see any of the killers coming, but I also didn't care. It was lame, and their motivations were lame. Stu is obviously more insane, but Billy blaming Sidney's mom for breaking his family apart when his father was directly participating in the affair was clearly just an excuse on his part. And it also felt a little sexist to blame the affair solely on the woman, as if she was some sort of succubus and his father didn't have a choice. I know we're not supposed to take Billy seriously, but still. It was a little weird. Overall, I didn't enjoy this movie, and I wasn't interested in watching the rest of the franchise. But I was determined to see Jenna Ortega, so I had to just commit to it. Scream 2 -- Still didn't really enjoy this one, but it was better than the first. I mean I have to point out that Luke Wilson as Billy Lumis in Stab is utter perfection. Favorite moment in the franchise for me. He's a gem. Also, this is the point where the meta takes a dive for me. Instead of it being used semi-seriously, they turn it into a complete joke. It was pointless in the first film, but from here on out, except maybe in Scream 5 and 6, as well as the show, they explicitly call out the most aggregious tropes just to act them out exsctly as described. Like with the nod to black people always dying first in horror films. And even funnier, Jada was on the poster of the film, which was not only a nod to Drew Barrymore who was killed immediately, but a self referential joke to black people not lasting long. Still didn't really like any of the characters in this movie, though I have to admit I mistook Timothy Oliphant for Josh Duhamel the entire film. They look so alike, it's unbelievable. As for the twists and turns and killers and misdirections, it felt like the film was playing them all up on purpose, to the point the film was a comedy. Which I guess works, because it work in a serious way in the first film. The twists and motivations were still stupid and (to me) came out of nowhere. And the misdirections were just exaggerated so much that they were obviously misdirections. Though it got MUCH worse in the show. Also, the cast made a lot more stupid decisions in this. Like when Sidney got out of the cop car and neither took the cop's gun nor took of Ghostface's mask was REALLY fucking stupid. Didn't make ANY sense. Scream 3 -- Still not a great movie, no surprise there. But it was funnier and more enjoyable, I guess. I liked the meta-ness with Stab 3 and Scream 3 itself, where the cast of Stab 3 went out exactly like the Scream 3 cast playing the Stab 3 cast. It was funny. And the meta jokes about casting and Hollywood issues made the fact they happened in this movie even funnier. The premise of the movie itself, though? Sidney's mom had a secret actress life for a few years before she got married that neither Sidney nor her father knew about, and that she had a secret child who she rejected, just doesn't make any sense to me. But hey, it gave me a funny Carrie Fisher cameo where she made a joke about herself banging George Lucas to get the part of Leia (which obviously didn't happen). To that's cool, I guess. I did like the inclusion of the bullet proof vest in the film, as it made more sense as to why Ghostface here survived literally everything.
@DarthTingleBinks Жыл бұрын
Scream 4 -- Didn't like this. But I like the killer reveals, especially in hindsight. So... The first killer we learn of, the long hair unattractive weirdo nerd boy, first brought up the idea of the new killer livestreaming, and then both he and the character ALWAYS livestreaming joked about not implicating the character always livestreaming. Which is a good misdirection away from the killer, because they BOTH talked about it, and obviously the killer wouldn't reveal himself so obviously. So the fact the one who wasn't livestreaming and brought it up first was the killer was cool. And Jill got slashed on the arm during an encounter with Ghostface. We immediately think back to Scream 2, where Sid's boyfriend got the same treatment but was innocent, despite the suspicions. Here, we're supposed to think the opposite at first, until we realize that Sidney tackled Ghostface down the steps after Jill was slashed. Sid saved Jill. We SAW what happened, so she COULDN'T be the killer. A misdirection of a reveal so early in the movie, and a really good one at that. And we learn to not trust anything in any Scream movie ever again. But the characters were once again bland and boring. I'd talk about why, but they were so bland and boring there's nothing to talk about. Same with most of the franchise. But the killer motivations just didn't make sense. Incel boy was an incel boy and made he didn't get attention. Obviously not to be taken seriously because incels are not serious at all. They all need serious mental help. And Jill's motivation was even dumber than Micky's. Blaming a spree of murders is one thing, but orchestrating a spree of murders to get attention is something else entirely. Like, yeah, serial killers get off on attention, sure, but they don't get off on being the hero. They get off on people knowing they did terrible shit and also not getting caught. Then again, maybe Dexter isn't the best source of info about the minds of serial killers. Also, the entire motivation just felt like a complete insult to the younger generation, clearly showing that nobody understood them. And that's saying something, because the millenials themselves do the same with Gen Z now. Though they're a little better than the generations before them were. Still a disappointment. Scream (2022) -- Right off the bat, there's not enough Jenna Ortega in this. I don't give a shit if she's not playing the main character or if she wasn't AS big at the time. But it's Jenna Ortega, and I'm watching for her. Come on. Also... Now every character is related to a previous character in Scream... Aside from the killers. And Tara. But her sister Sam is Billy's secret daughter nobody new about. I liked the reveal with the same actor coming back as a psychological projection, but it didn't make much sense. Though it did make Sam a more interesting character than ANY of the characters in the other films. Didn't like Mindy at all. She seems like a more annoying, infinitely more attractive (though I'm biased because I'm straight), version of Randy. And no matter how attractive she is, I just can't like her. I didn't like Randy, so there's no way I'm going to like his niece. I'm also just completely over the meta aspect at this point. They might as well get rid of it. However, this movie impressed me some. The characters felt more realistic, the gore wss improved, and Dewey died. It's not that I wanted him to die, but the fact he alive at all after the first film, let alone the second, just didn't make sense. Man basically gets the life beat out of him every movie and revives faster than Jesus supposedly did. Jack Quaid also provided for some actually good comedy in this film. But it's Jack Quaid. You can't not love him. In addition, he's a VERY supportive boyfriend... Which made the fact he was a killer disappointing. I already knew he was the killer due to an interview about Star Trek he did with Jessie Gender a while ago, before I'd seen any of the Scream movies, but the fact he was so supportive made me a little bit mad. But towards the end of the movie they made his being the killer more obvious. The misdirections, while definitely exaggerated, were also a lot better executed here than in the other films, and especially better than in the show. But I need to talk about the killers' motivations... They were terrible. But at the same time, it was a fantastic discussion on toxic fandoms in real life, even making a really funny (and uncalled for) joke about Stab 8 completely disrespecting the fans and the franchise, as well as some Stab fans saying it "raped their childhood" which people have said in real life about both Last Jedi and the prequel trilogy. I did like the deaths of the killers, too, and that Mindy ACTUALLY turns around while telling fake Randy in Stab to turn around. It was maybe the only time I can recall the Scream movie actually subverting tropes. So this movie was a huge improvement on the other films. Not just because it had Jenna Ortega, but because most things in it were done far better, and it was just more fun. But still not great. Scream 6 -- The best cold open. Revealing one of two killers immediately, both of which are killed off immediately, making you wonder just who the fuck is the actual killer. The characters are better here than ever before. Everything here is better than ever before. Except Gale surviving her attack this movie. It was dumb, and it didn't make sense. Basically like every time Dewey survived a Scream movie. Also, I just never liked Gale, so I kinda wanted her to die. Jenna gets more screentime. All I could've asked for. Josh Segarra. That's it. Josh Segarra. Best character in the movie, and boyfriend in the series. Forget the asian girl's name, but her death was disappointing. Killing one of only two lesbians so quickly was definitely weird. Sam not answering Josh Segarra's phone call was dumb. Quinn not being dead didn't make sense. Though that comes later. Ghostface kills random people, and in public. There is the beginning of Scream 2, but that one wasn't obvious about it. This one is. And it actually brought a level of tension to the movie. Kirby!!! Kirby says "fuck movies". I was hopeful they'd abandon the meta aspect of these movies here. They did... And didn't. Oh, well. The characters, while being better here, are more or less the exact same as they were in the first film. Sam is in therapy, though, and Tara promises to go to therapy by the end of the film. Didn't care for the Tara and Chad romance. I just didn't feel it at all. Also, I have a massive crush on Jenna, but I know how to keep a crush on a celebrity healthily. It just didn't come about naturally to me, is all. Also, Chad should've died. His surviving here makes less sense than any time Dewey survived. And the killers... Was a twist, to be sure. And I didn't see the killers being Richie's family. But... It was a choice. To have the film, and the killers be all "fuck the Stab movies" but to also build a shrine to Stab and to their relative was in contradiction to that. And it also felt weird that they wanted revenge for thwir relative when he obviously had an unhealthy obsession with the Stab films. I think there's more to love with this movie than the others, but the twist at the end kinda ruined it. Still my favorite Scream movie , but it doesn't save the franchise for me. But I was too invested at this point.

Season 1: I was surprised to see your level of hatred for this season. I actually really enjoyed it. It was dumb at times. At a lot of times. But for a Scream property, it was great. Not saying much, because Scream it's great, and I'm not sure it ever will be, but it was pretty solid for me. There's too much to talk about with this, though, so I'm going to give my thoughts on the characters, as well as killer, misdirections, setup, and reveal. Emma: Is alright, I guess. I had JUST watched Mike Flanagan's new Netflix show right before this, so I was excited to see Will Fitzgerald, but other than that, the character didn't blow me away. Will: Dick. Jake: The dickiest dick to ever dick. The entire season he tries to get in Brooke's pants, and it pisses me off anyone was even friends with him. But I hated him when he put Noah out on the raft. Brooke: She was... Interesting. I guess. They certainly went places I didn't expect with her character, being a high school student and all. Noah: Didn't care for him much, but I loved his relationship with Riley by the end of the second episode. Riley: Utter perfection. She's hot, Asian, nerdy, and into nerdy boys. Literally everything I could've asked for. You know, if I ever asked for anything at all. And I hated that she died so soon. Audrey: Was Audrey, I guess. That's about it. I feel relatively the same about her as I did Emma. As in, I didn't. I was completely indifferent. Kieran: I actually really liked him early on. But then I checked the description of the Halloween Special and spoiled about him being a killer. But I thought he'd be the season 1 killer. He wasn't. The misdirections and all the secrets were... Annoying. As always. But here even moreso. It all feels like it's there just to pad out the runtime and add fake drama. The killer... Was a surprise. See, with the spoil about Kieran, I was paying very close attention to him, and I was sure he was the killer. Especially when Emma and Piper went to see Brandon's mom and she tried to recall Brandon's BOY's name. Every name she said started with the letter 'K'. I was like, it's basically confirmed. And even though I doubted their confidence to have the killer be in a relationship with his half sister, every clue was just obviously pointing to Kieran, and when Piper told Emma about Brandon's mom pointing to Kieran's picture basically confirmed to me that they were bold enough to do inc*st in the show. And then theyd didn't. Which in hindsight is probably good. They would've gotten a LOT of shit for it. But at the same time, there was NOTHING pointing to Piper. And she outright incriminated Kieran, so it doesn't make sense that they were working together. At all. But whatever. The rest of the builup to the killer was alright, I guess. I also appreciate the choice to avoid the connection to the films, even if that wasn't the original decision. Season 2: I fucking hated this season. Now, the obvious misdirections are entire side plots drawn out for no reason other to meet the mandate for the longer season, Brooke lost her mind and got with Jake, the dickiest dick to ever dick, and Noah is once again with the single minority character. Well, not single. Most of the police force we see in the show are people of color. Interesting choice given to the nature of the organization, but whatever. Also, there's Gustavo. But Zoey is basically Riley reincarnated. And they took her away from even harder than they did Riley. I mean, holy shit, the cruelty to show us a video feed on a phone of Zoey drowning, exactly the situation we saw Noah in for that entire episode, only for them to find Zoey dead and for the video to be pre-recorded was... It was cruel, it was disturbing, and it was disgusting. And for those reasons, it is both my favorite and least favorite death in the franchise. Ely was... Weird as fuck. I was almost certain by the end of the season that the description of the Halloween Special was intentionally incorrect to make me focus on Kieran when it was Ely all along. All the clues were pointing to Ely, and unlike last season, NONE OF THEM pointed to Kieran. He was innocent, even though everything he did was suspicious. He was always gone whenever the killer wss around, and always showed up whenever they left, but he shows genuine care for the other Lakewood Sixers. I WANTED my spoil to be a fake spoil. And the reveal was just... dumb as fuck. Kieran says a similar, yet still noticeably different thing to Emma and then she makes a huge leap out of nowhere based on nothing? It was so DUMB. Honestly, before Kieran was confirmed the killer, I was banking on Ely, Ms. Lang, or both. Because I knew for a fact Kieran didn't film himself taped up in the funhouse. The angle didn't make sense for that, and both Ely and Ms. Lang were suspicious as all hell. Also, Brooke's dad went to another blackmail bribery thing when he went to get killed, but Ely was the one with the files, not Kieran. Kieran saw them, sure, but he didn't seem like he gave a shit, whereas Ely and his mom were both clearly working together to blackmail him. As for the characters in this season, they felt a lot more tropey and sterotypical. They always made dumb, unreasonable, and irrational choices, whereas they made some smart choices in season 1. This season was like the entire CW on crack. Also, the misdirections were even more front and center that you just wanted it to end despite it being dragged on for episodes and episodes. I mean I haven't outright loved anything Scream related, but this season was especially bad. Though I was interested in the setup for Brandon James being alive? That I guess went nowhere because there wasn't a continuation with this cast outside of the Halloween Special. But that brings me to the end. Overall, I don't see the appeal. I don't really like Slashers at all, but some of them have their appeal. Especially the Evil Dead films. Those are, again, the only exception I've seen. I will edit this comment later after I've seen the special, and again after seeing season 3 of the show. Also, upon reconsideration (I watched the movies like 2 weeks ago and the first season yesterday), I think I like Scream (2022) and Scream 6 more than the show. But I like season 1 more than the other movies. Edit: Also, the show just cannot pass the cardboard test at all. Which means none of the women characters are written well, even if they're simultaneously the best written characters on the show.

NOTE: Had to do three separate comments because despite trying to keep it short, my comment was too long for KZbin to post. Didn't know they had a character limit. Edit: I'll probably add more comments than edit any of the previous ones for the Halloween Special and season 3.

Okay. The Halloween Special... Right off the bat, it feels odd that it had literally nothing to do with the main plot and premise of the series. But I guess that's a good thing, because the other seasons aren't that great. Alex: You know, it's a lot like Piper in season 1 and Kieran in season 2. There was nothing going for it, and it came out of nowhere. I guess we never did see him and Billy together at the same time, but... Even that's very little. Honestly, I had Gina dead to rights. She said she didn't want to go to the island, she was only character who could have been in Lakewood to kill Kieran, and when she got on the island she was stalking Audrey for over a day. And when she showed up in the special, she showed up out of nowhere, "found" the sheriff's head at the house even though he was killed a ways away from the house, and she said she took a boat, but when they all got to the docks, none of the boats were there, meaning she had plenty of time to get rid of them all. And then the whole thing about thinking Audrey was cheating was total bs because Audrey literally asked her if she wanted to go. Which she would not have done if she was going to cheat. But I guess it would've been problematic to have a redhead lesbian be the killer, because it would mean killing off yet another lesbian in the show. Even if she was the most likely. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded that "Alex" turned out to be the killer if they both hinted at it more concretely, and if they hadn't outright shown him killing Jeremy. As for the rest of the special, it was not very interesting. Basically all the problems the show itself had. Also... I don't know what the weird thing with Emma's dad showing up at Kieran's grave was. Or why Kieran had a grave. I assume it was either misdirection, or we would've gotten a reveal that either Emma's dad was the killer, or that her dad was actually Brandon James? But neither of those seems likely, especially with the heavy setup for Brandon James himself being alive, both in season 2, and the check in to a motel at the end of this special. But I guess that's what they'd want us to think, so for all I know, it could've been Emma's dad. But that would've been super dumb. Despite this being longer than an episode of the show, though, it felt faster. And I think that's because in total it was one whole short story, rather than one story painstakingly dragged out over 10+ episodes.

it may seem as if laing was pointless, but i think the reason they didn’t kill her off was after kieran and emma go to see her, she has a convo about emma with the sheriff. which made everyone very suspicious about emma. laing said emma has trauma and a disease where she could be passing her trauma onto audrey and they could be the killers and they don’t realize they are doing it. also, emma stole the keys to her house, only bc she was still alive. and that’s how they found out about the blessed sisters home where piper and laing lived for a very short time.

Now, season 1 was really fun, it was also pretty bad, but really fun, but hot dayum season 2 was great, I think a lot of the plot holes from season 1 are kinda fixed, and I say kinda very loosely, the acting still sucked and the soundtrack (ie. The licensed music) was still bad, but season 2 definitely stepped up and became bettwr
