As was pointed out multiple times within minutes of posting the video (impressive), yes - I didn't update the totals for Quantumania and Cocaine Bear on the top 5 chart. They're in the proper position, but the totals are wrong. I'm beginning to think it's subconscious self-sabotage at this point and will be consulting my therapist. Or I was tired after an all-nighter doing my Oscars video. Either way - mistake noted and I'm sure no one else will comment on it!

Sorry To Bother you But, Pathaan's Worldwide Box Office is $128M Dollars. The Production House "YRF" is giving the Numbers the last they updated it was $127.68M Now The Gross is not in millions so they have stopped reporting but the trades are reporting the numbers & Another Indian Film Called " Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar" Did $1.24M in USA in limited release in it's opening weekend & $12.8M in box office weekend Worldwide. As always the numbers where not reported to The Numbers Or Box Office Mojo Website. It Has Become A Routine To Not Update The Numbers To These Sites By The Production Houses LOL.

@Rahul jain There are always contradictory and missing numbers for Indian box office films. I've tried and tried to track down reliable information and it's a jumble of conflicting information. I do my best, but I can only devote so much time to it.

@@DanMurrellMovies yeah I understand Dan, there are lot of different numbers floating around even from reliable different sources as well. I understand your situation. it's the production houses that don't report box office nos to these sites. So sorry if i said something that might hurt you in anyway, it's also difficult sometimes even for me to get accurate numbers for my box office videos as well on my channel "The News Dome" it takes hours sometimes for research. I am just happy you talk about indian films in some context. Thank you for your videos. Love from India.

Dan, I love the new small theater spotlight you’re doing, you should look into an Atlanta theater called the Plaza, it’s Atlanta’s oldest movie theater still running, and it shows fantastic older and new movies sometimes on 35mm. Also, since Atlanta is such a hot filming spot, people like Francis Ford Coppola stop by. They also recently bought another small theater called the tara which is a small Atlanta theater, that was operated by regal until they closed it last year. I’ve talk to the people there before and they truly love film and everything it encompasses. they deserve some attention for the work they’re putting in. Love the show.

If you’re still looking for Independent Theaters, The Texas Theater is one in my local market I love. It’s the theater that Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested at, and since then it’s been a historical landmark. They’re a big part of the local film scene in the state. They’re doing a screening of some local short films next week my friends managed to get into actually. It’s been shouted out by a bunch of celebrities, they even have a pre-show of people like Werner Hertzog and Kevin Smith talking about how cool the place is. It’s a neat place and I’d like to see it get some love.

30:56 I've said this before, but the reason why EEAAO is only available for purchase on VOD right now is because of the pay-one TV deal A24 has with Showtime prevents the film from being available to rent on VOD while it is currently on Showtime. All the premium pay-TV channels used to always have clauses in these deals that prevents films from being available to rent on VOD services while they're making their initial 18-month run on those channels. The reason why it isn't as common nowadays as it once was is due to some studios withholding their films for their own streaming services (where they aren't abided by these clauses and can do whatever they want), as well as the other studios making new deals that don't have these clauses included.

I liked the color tracker, but I think it only needs to be done that way every once in a while. The movies aren't really going to move position at this point so there is no need to see this detail again until a few more movies come out and some movement is made. This would give us the information we want, while also saving everybody's eyeballs from overload. As always, excellent show.

The "phase color" for the MCU Franchise Tracker should be a gradient of one color, so it's easier to see. Earliest films are White - newest films are Dark, etc.

Dear Dan. Love your charts videos. In your Franchise Tracker could you make a "debut-relative-to-budget"-chart? Or the debut's percentage of the budget? That could work without the need for inflation adjustment, as inflation is a bit crazy these days.
@djstubbain1 Жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, The color coding for the MCU franchise tracker is a wonderful idea, but as you have observed, it doesn't really work well with the way you've visualised it. It would be much easier to follow, if it it presented in a bar chart, with the colors of the bars differing for the different phases. Then it would also be visually easier to follow the ranking of the movies. Thanks for all the work and effort you put into your videos.

Hey Dan, I wonder if like you done the domestic total chart and the world wide charts. Would you consider adding to the show a top 10 list for opening weekends of the year? So we can track and see what films end up in the high opening weekend range. Could even at the end of the year compare that list to the year total and see if there similar stuff

Though I like the idea to color-code the MCU franchise films by their phases, I do think that the colorful boxes made it slightly hard to see what MCU movie you were discussing. Maybe instead of having the boxes be in color, I think having the type/movie titles be color-coded could make it less distracting. 🤔 But this is only a suggestion, as I really like the efforts you put into the presentation regardless!

The idea of the color coded Marvel chart is great. The only advice I give you is that the green for Phase 5 is too similar to the yellow of phase 4. As a colorblind person, they both look the same shade of yellow to me. You only need to pick a darker green for phase 5, that doesn't look like yellow, and it is perfect. Thanks.

'Bruce Tracy and Willis Morgan'. Classic Dan. R.I.P..D., by the way, seems to have acquired an oddball cult status since its original release. Defiantly a bit of a crazy box office situation this beging section of the year is a very solid perfomance and we are not out of the woods yet as several more big movies lined up...some more potential than other but we have about another month or so of big titles to get though. It may mean this spring office will actually give the summer movies a run for here money this year...probally not but still a strong atart to the year with very few movies flopping and a lot exceeding expectations.

Franchise tracker feedback for the MCU : keep the fill of the boxes white and only highlight the border in different colors. Also, I had a thought about what is the determinant for a franchise. I originally thought it was interconnected movies that aren't direct sequels but are in the same universe (Marvel, DC, Saw). So I found it curious hearing Scream being referred to as a franchise since as of now the movies are all direct sequels of the previous. It doesn't have any spinoffs or movies that aren't named Scream. Would a franchise be movies that have 2+ sequels?
