Screamin’ Jay Hawkins is a phenomenon. Sadly he’s mostly forgotten about until we singularly keep their memories by continuing to share their great music and performances. Screamin Jay was not only an incredible musician but he was one of the first performance artists inspirating Kiss, Alice Cooper, etc.

Check out Screamin Jay Hawkins Alligator Wine, Yellow Coat, Feast of the Mau Maus, Portrait of a Man… to get a decent selection of a couple of his hits other than “I put a spell on you “.

🤣🤣🤣 Jeff does it again! Hey, in show biz you gotta have a gimmick. Late one night I watched a strange film ("Mystery Train" 1989 directed by Jim Jarmusch) about a bunch of people whose stories crossed in a seedy hotel in Memphis. The desk clerk kept tickling my memory. Don't how, but it finally came to me : "Oh my! That's Screamin Jay Hawkins!"
