Asgard was just kind of a sliver of a planet, not a whole planet. Is it possible that a celestial was born from Asgard, but they had the power to at least keep part of their home intact? A civilization powerful enough to survive the birth of a celestial would be pretty god-tier.

I just hope at some point Thor can meet/see Loki from the series. I think it would be a great thing for Thor to see this version of Loki. Thor mentions often how much he believed in Loki and hoped he'd change. So for Thor to see Loki as a guardian of his own multiverse of sorts and what he did and how he had changed would be pretty cool to see.

That blank statements is unequivocally false. In Thor L&T, We see that the gods abandoned earth and those who didn't, have had their hand in the cookie jar for so long. Ie. Thor falling to earth, Odin Conquering Earth, Loki attacking Earth. We see that Gorr's god was using his people. We see that gorr killed numerous gods, even the gods who lived and cultivated alongside their people. We see that Gorr kills a kind and peaceful god who doesn't have a people to worship him. Saying "Gorr is Right" is saying "This Serial killer is not that bad." As Odin says, "I am not God of all people. I am King of Asgard." And the MCU Asgardians are long lived mortals aside from the actual gods.

14:15 One can even reference Ultron for the "they started as Protectors" part. His primary purpose was to protect earth, but he decided that to protect earth, he has to actively go out and decimate humanity. Similarly, a young Odin might have thought in order to protect Asgard and the rest of the galaxy, he had to conquer it first.

Sometimes, one must conquer to bring order. Because a unified galaxy, at least won't breakdown like a regular splintered galaxy would. It even gives the benefit of a person that people could unite against, but at the very least. There can be relative peace and stability.

I kinda hate that the necrosword corrupted gorr. In Jasson Aaron's Thor run they make the point that gorr isn't insane and actually in control of his actions, making him more terrifying, and it makes the reader (and Thor) question whether he us right. In Love & Thunder the audience had to SEE the gods beings dicks and then have gorr comment on it later so we could maybe agree with him, because otherwise we just see him as insane. Not super related to this vid but thought I'd bring it it up.

Anyone who has ever heard of "Unworthy Thor" now knows after reading this, that Gorr was indeed right. In the Original Sin story, Nick Fury, also known at the time as The Man On The Wall, stole Uatu's eye and this granted him the vision of Uatu and when Thor came at him, he whispered in his ear and instantly Thor could no longer hold Mjolnir. The words he said to Thor? "Gorr was right" There you have it.

@NyahJustice
@NyahJustice 11 ай бұрын
@RELAXcowboy It was always interesting to me that all it took for Mjolnir to reject Thor was for Fury to get him to acknowledge his doubts about his God hood. This is why comics Gorr is the best Marvel villian. It didn't matter that he died relatively quickly (minus his resurrection in King Thor), his legacy haunts Thor to this day.

Gorr has a pretty good point. In the comic, he kills gods of murder and torture. He should have stuck with being a cosmic version of Punisher. I believe that Disney is going to use the Multiverse Saga as a way to reboot the MCU. I maintained this for years and with declining box office takes, I'm sure they will bring this to a close, wait a few years, then start it up again.

10:20 Asgardians are never in any movie depicted as aliens with advanced technology that was mistaken for magic. There are two related comments in Thor's movie. Thr first is by Jane Foster who misquotes Carl Sagan. The original quote is "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". It means that advanced technology can look like magic, not, as Jane Foster misquotes, that "magic is only technology we don't understand". And the other by Thor himself stating that for Asgardians technology and magic are one and the same. That's not the same thing as stating that they don't use magic, but only advanced technology.

10:12 is the relevant time stamp. I agree that there is enough there to assume they use actual magic. IIRC in Thor Love and Thunder Jane Foster has some kind of Asgardian magic machine to try to cure her of her cancer. Loki has magic, there are Asgardian witches, their more powerful weapons are sentient on some level, lol.

I like the theory that the "gods" are eternals that never learned their purpose, so they took on the purpose of the people they were assigned to protect. They became ineffective and lazy because their people had served the celestials purpose, they retreat to the "god city" subconsciously, like an instinct. To be collect and redistributed or destroyed.

Great video, but as someone who’s been reading marvel since the mid 80s, it always seemed pretty well understood that the one above all is either Stan Lee or meant to represent the authors since they have total control over the characters, their universes, and the outcome of their lives without any threat to themselves from those characters and universes. I don’t think that it’s ever meant to be an actual character

I do wish Gorr could have lived and became something bigger. Or done better. Everyone I know personally loved it as it is. Its their favorite MCU film as of lately. These being casual MCU fans. And more die hard fans I know grew to enjoy it alot. Point is, I hope more people come to like it more than they did or to back and give it another shot.

For me, the issue isn’t so much whether someone with power exists, or even that they have all that and do nothing with it. It’s more a matter of how they came to be in such a comfortable position and yet still do nothing, or nothing compared to what they’ve taken, at the very least. Living in a still Scamperial ruled nation, where it’s all about making the princes rich and powerful, simply for their own money and power’s sake… Oh, Superman, where are you now?

I dunno about this one; For Gorr, while I understand why he'd be pissed, him killing so many Gods, whether he knows if they're good or bad or not, actually leaves him as a worse character than the Gods he so hates. The Gorr Comics actually portrayed this well. Not to mention, entire species and planets are now doomed because of him. The comics show this actually very well in full, cause some planets wouldn't be able to support life/be hospitable for most life or sentient beings to live and grow. When Gorr wipes out Pantheons, some planets entire ability to support life is taken away. One time, after some Sky Gods died, the planet's atmosphere couldn't naturally keep it up, and it stopped raining and the weather was destructive/chaotic. In the Comics he mentioned how he "knew the truth" and that Sentient life and stuff would blast into existence, and no "Gods" were needed cause life would happen with or without them, but he doesn't get that entirely true, as there's plenty of Planets where without the Gods, the planet simply couldn't sustain life. And when he went after Asgardians, and said Thor's entire Pantheon would be wiped out, it makes you wonder... he's killing all Gods based off the action of a single situation he alone dealt with? And assumed every God everywhere must be the same? Even though ironically it was his Gods fighting to protect life in the Universe by facing Knull who carried the Necrosword. Gorr then kills his God when he asks for help, not even knowing the situation. The movie doesn't do justice to either the Argument for or against Gorr or the Gods nearly as well...

I actually have a theory about the necro sword and why it appeared in Gorr's hands. It's because he was the last of his people the last of that particular God's worshipers. And considering that his God was a cruel God eternity granted him the power to judge his God.

That would have been an interesting thru line. If that sword appeared in that circumstance only...but Gorr didn't put it down when others have before.

What's so special about "god killing" weapons? Gods can be killed by regular weapons. I'm pretty sure Hulk could kill Asgardians by punching them hard enough.

Well seeing as slamming him into concrete so hard it left a imprint didn't kill him, I'm not so sure...but also by this theory Hulk would qualify as a god...

To be honest, the quality of the movie itself aside, Gorr was certainly not a villain. He was right. He just got blinded by his hatred, but isn't it understandable?

Damn i want a directors cut of this film. The studio made them cut out so much for no reason and everything theyve released would have helped the plot and quality so much

J Michael Strazinski wrote this theme the best. The gods of chaos (Shadows) and order (Vorlons) fought each other using races they uplifted as proxies, only the these lesser races got tired of that, made a huge space fleet, and told the Shadows and Vorlons to 'get the hell out of our galaxy'. (5 years of Babylon 5 condensed)

So you hinted that maybe Knull created the Necro sword, but what if like you said. Galactus forged the sword. And Knull saw the potential of the sword and stole it from him, or was given it by Galactus. Then, Gorr had his 'discussion' with Rupa and the sword chose Gorr to weild it becaise it believed he was or would be more effective at serving it's purpose than Knull. Who probably wanted it as a prop for intimidation.

What if Galactus' purpose is to maintain balance of the Celestials as we see with EGO, he wanted to infect every world in the universe to spread his influence. So with the Celestials being birthed, Galactus is like the predator who consumes the Celestial essence appointed by his choosing. And since Tiamat, though dead, is now residing in Earth - this would be the perfect opportunity for Galactus to arrive and enter conflict.

Quick question. If Kang started it wouldn't it lead to the same point in secret wars with the doom council which pretty much does the same thing? It's very hard to follow the continuity of Marvel Comics when you compare Comics versus movies and don't get me wrong I'm a fan of both but its very difficult.
