Cool to hear that gearbox will fit any SCX10. I orded a metal/carbon chassis from banggood, but the center drive-train just is to big for lots of body-shells, so i did order the two-speed transmission with the V8 combo in the hope it would fit. Parts are not in yet. The only thing i do not see is that there is no slipper clutch in this transmission? There is a big one on the original? Still wondering if it is smart to put a brushless system on it.
@GCMRacing14 жыл бұрын
I haven't used a slipper clutch for at least 8 years on any of my trucks. Not important for this style of offroad, and if you know enough to not pull the throttle when it's completely jammed in solid somewhere.
@tgh1177 жыл бұрын
awesome looking product. it appears that it could also fit an ascender platform with not much modification if any at all. keep up the great work.

This is a great setup. However I would like to get a V8 block as I am not using the original body, but going for an old school 55 ford truck or chevy Truck (if I can find it) body. Could I get it with a V8 instead of straight 6?

This is the best thing I have seen all day! YES YES YES
@stwright318ify6 жыл бұрын
I believe looking on your website that you have to buy the gear sets to go inside the transmission and the transfer case correct? You guys have done a masterful job of making the motor, trans and transfer case look true to 1:1 scale. Would a V8 motor fit instead of the straight 6? 👊😀👍🇺🇸🏁🍻

IMA RC Addict all the gears come with the case, a full kit is sold. We also have v8 motors, yes.

None of that has changed from the all stock Axial kit parts. It's frame side left, and axle side right, as stock.

It should fit fine with this, yes. At least the transmission won't be in the way anymore
@xxoTUBBSoxx3 ай бұрын
@GCMRacing1 awesome, thanks for replying so fast. I'll be picking one up soon then! I got the LC80 body when it was first released and never used it, have been wanting it on my SCX10 I for years

Will the motor covers fit over the Hobby wing quickrun fusion motor esc combo?
@GCMRacing13 жыл бұрын
There's a bit of variation on all these new motors, brushless specifically. So in some cases you have to remove a chunk of the side of the block to get the wires to come out, and in some cases, you have to remove a bit of the bottom pulley for wires to come out, but in any case, a round motor can is a round can... still.. so with some mods, most of the motors I've ever seen can still be used on these new brushless setups.

Yes, but you still need to move the servo OFF the front axle (which is common for a 4 link front)

Chris, pardon me if I've missed it...but what motor (Brushless) and pinion setup you recommend for nice clean slow crawling with 10.2 axles. I've got the kit and it's BEAUTIFUL! I've got plenty of motor and pinion options...just want to start strong!
@GCMRacing17 жыл бұрын
You sure do! I strongly VERY much recommend the castle slate full combos. They matched their electronics perfectly in the ESC to match their amazing sensored crawl motors, and it can't be beat!! So crazy smooth! I'd recommend the 2800kv motors in the SCX2 with our scale LowRange trans. www.castlecreations.com/en/rock-crawler?category=bc2b9421-4aea-48aa-8828-468abf4f3e2f

Where does the main battery go? Is that the small battery you were saying goes on the right? So if a scale drivetrain then you will need a very small main battery? I'm new the the hobby so forgive my elementary question
@dustinf117 жыл бұрын
curt248 they probably plan on using a 2200mah battery on the side. It is smaller, but with this gearing; It will last quite awhile.
@GCMRacing17 жыл бұрын
Dustin is right, we use 1100mah 3s or up to 2000mah 2s batteries, and that's easily an hour of trail driving with our trucks. The batteries cost so little, and fit just about anywhere, so we've completely done away with large batteries in scale trucks now. The 1500mah 3s battery in our big D110 truck regularily runs 1hr40minutes in scale comp type of driving.

Do you think this setup will allow enough clearance to get a China jk or new team raffle 4 door on there?
@GCMRacing17 жыл бұрын
Certainly the front end parts will work great on that now.. but there's still rear shock tower problems, and mounting issues putting those bodies on the SCX. There is the Skeleton chassis that's a direct fit for the China JK.

I have a SCX10 -2 Honcho RTR my first real truck I love it! Of course I want to upgrade the hell out of it! I’d like to run that style of motor/gear box to get it over the front more, I’d like to know where to put the battery, not real keen to run it in the back, 2 x 2s one on either side workout how I could run both cells at one time then just have the ecu ect at the rear.? Just a rookie idea! Would love to see how you finish this truck mate. Thanks for making this vid, it’s a cool hobby I love it, just wish I had more money😜

@GCMRacing17 жыл бұрын
Our motor plate and our LRT2 Tcase/Trans combo are the important parts to fit this mount set. You can always bolt the RC4wd motor on to the motor plate from the LRT2 combo. That's been done several times.

I gotta pick this up for my Team associated Element Enduro Trail walker. I'm positive it'll work they look identical frame wise ect. Plus axial n element/Team associated are the children of horizon hobby lol. And if for some reason it doesn't fit correctly I'll modify what ever I need to 😂.. I'm building a trail truck / mud bogger scale truck I got three bodies atm I'm gonna use specifically for it. a 72 Chevy pickup and a K5 blazer and a 77 ford F250 high boy.. the F250 and Chevy pickup I'm going to weather ect. and the blazer imma paint it baby blue and white or a ocean blue and white. I got all kinds of bead locks and tires ect. Iv also taken a set of my Proline Super swamper bogger 1.9s and wore em down purposely "which btw they are about a year old or so anyway and I got 3 other sets two of em brand new never opened lol. Then I got the RC4wD ones I got two sets from them of the boggers. Which are in the packages still. Then I got the famous RC4wD knock off of the interco boggers the "Mud Slinger XL" which I like em. Then I got my personal favorites the Interco Super Swamper TSL/SX all terrain which is the most famous in the 1/1 real world. I got tons of those iv bought maybe 20 sets of em over the last year lol. I got diff compounds which the proline predator compound is my favorite but for the mud bog I'm gonna use a soft yet more stronger compound of the TSL SX swampers and boggers. I haven't fully decided which truck is getting what set of tires n rims atm. But when they are finished they are going to be amazing. I'm even putting real head liner in em real interior lights ect even carpet n rubber mats lol and rusted floor panels lol. And the Ford will most likely be my ginnie ping on motor n esc testing.. I'm actually putting a monster big block brushless motor in it. A 4076 2200kv on a hobbywing Quicrun10BL120 which is currently in my Arrma big rock. Then I got a few other esc and Brushless motors to try out both sensored n sensorless. Reason for the massive big block is because of the mud bogging I want all the wheel speed n raw HP / torque that motor can give. If I break gears I got plenty and my dad owns a Machine shop so I can have custom aluminum and stainless steel and titanium parts made same day all I gotta do is drive over to his place lol. He builds alot of crazy custom parts for bashers like Arrma 3s n 4s mostly metal parts ppl want but can't get like machined aluminum chassis and center drive shafts ect. And he does some really cool custom parts ect for his SCX10/3 and his element Enduro senduros ect. But I deff wanna see what a big motor like that does n performs inside a trail truck.

Nice pile of projects! We do already have a kit for scale driveline in Element chassis, no need to fab stuff! ... Having a bigger motor might be a good way to get some low weight in a truck. Never know. Might be good!
