Which still beats the hell out of Minnesota's 40 second reload with the same number of *worse guns.* What it comes down to is that Kearsarge is a Tier 10 ship at Tier 9. Even if you took away the planes entirely, Kearsarge would be a Tier 9.5 ship.

The biggest problem with the Kearsarge is not the ship, but the player… specifically those who play it like a CV and just park it behind an island and use the planes. IT’S A BATTLESHIP!!! The guns are its main feature and they are really good guns. I like this ship.

Also, I'd say the general problem with hybrids are the enemies. When given a choice between shooting at an Iowa and a Kearsarge, most will pick the latter. It takes damage (at leat supposedly) more easily, and it's a filthy wall-mart CV so it needs to go.

@@wombat4191 Kearsarge bring the higher firepower than Iowa, more accurate and there is 12 of them! anyone sane would target its first. this is the reason why I like kearsarge, adrenaline rush. 50% HP and its damage reload become monster. not to mention very high HP LOL. the only issue is shell from fast firing low calibr AP.

My one ship would be Atago. Even after all these years she's a solid all round pick. The only issue is as a crusier it can be a bit squishy for newer players, but the heal helps with that a little.

WOW, I just got the Kearsarge, I traded in Alsaka since I owned an Alaska b as well. The Kearsarge is performing like omg for me. First salvo i shot was at a missouri 22km away and hit for 38,873. Next shot was another 15k, then the rocket planes hit a slava for 14k and started 2 fires for another 26k. In just moments the ship already had done over 100k damage. My next match was a close repeat, I praised the ship to my clan, my friends , and even the off - topic discussion. And now with that title headline i was saying Kearsarge is my choice. Then what is the first ship i see. You rock SLM! Keep up your great commentary!

Kearsarge Black has been my go to since i got her. 1.5 million credits a battle, and almost never under 800k credits. She is so powerful too. Literally a tier 9 Montana with super high damage planes. My highest damage game so far was just over 200k and it was in the Sarge

Edit- If someone logs in every day and gets their 3 coal containers per day, it's roughly 210 days to build up the raw coal to buy a coal ship without using a coupon. So in the run of a year of playing the game you will at least get 1 coal ship. Excluding extra coal from special events, and brawls/ranked. Gotta agree, even as mostly a Cruiser/CV player, Kearsarge is likely thee best premium ship available at this very moment. As a Cruiser that broadside is a scary thing to encounter. Pair that with the 38mm flight deck and most HE will actually shatter unless time is taken to carefully aim. As a CV those planes can be quite deadly, because not only will they likely bite into the CV and deal damage but they also spot the CV, and who doesn't like shooting at a spotted CV? They also let you if you know where the CV is, aim your guns, then spot the CV with the rockets, and if the rockets hit or not, you can use the spotting to nuke the CV with your guns. Even the weakness of the flight deck isn't as bad as people think it is, you are less vulnerable than a German BB, and people still like to talk about how tanky those are. Yes it's a weak spot, but it's really not that bad, and can bait some people into shooting higher than they should so they can hit the flight deck, and causing them to over-pen because of how little armour there is to it.

I got the Kearsarge for coal a month ago and I had a really hard time with her. I tried playing her at mid range and I always got HE-spammed to death or ate a few torps which always took half my health away or more. Then I tried a more passive approach and I didn't do any damage because I was too far in the back. The most damage I did overall with both approaches was 80k. The planes are good, but aren't the easiest to use in my opinion. I'm probably just too dumb to play her right. Traded her for the Bayard a few days ago. So, everyone who is successful in this ship, I envy you.

dumb mistake lol..... Kearsarge power is equivalent of its player skill. the SHELL IS SLOWER but it got better dispersion. and mostly plunging fire. Kearsarge have 36mm deck, and one of biggest HP of T9 with American DCP..... if you dead by HE spam its so dumb, unless its from kitakaze, Thunkek or Petro

Since they added the much needed air strike depth charge (ASDC) planes i would say you made a good pick. I got the Kearsarge shortly before subs came out and she was near OP but really fun. When subs came out, all subs made a bee-line for you as they knew you did not have ASDC. However, now at least have some defense against the subs. Having already played CVs for a while, playing the rocket planes was fairly easy and if your good you can get +8k per attack. Timing your planes and gun reload maximizes your damage. One word of caution, most players consider the hybrids like a CV so they, their brother, and their dogs will try to focus fire you; thus, be careful and travel in a group of your teammates. Oh yes i hear the welders on the repair crews are top notch so you get the long American repair time. My fav premium of all of the 268 ships i own is the Massachusetts BB.

She’s definitely a solid premium. Planes take a bit of adjustment to learn how to aim since I’m definitely a battleship and cruiser main, but as said Kearsarge is an excellent gunboat. The planes also definitely provide some utility in late game situations where I need to reposition to another flank. (Though, also, planes get a bit funky with leaving your ship on autopilot while flying which had lead to me getting clapped a couple times) As for my personal favorite, while she’s not particularly meta or relevant, Hood. I’ve had her since she was released, and she’s far and away my favorite. Partly historical significance, and also I personally vibe with the play style of that ship. Nowadays other ships do similar play styles and arguably do it better, but, she’s still fun and was definitely worth it for me at least to purchase

Me and a friend of mine started playing this game again about 2 years ago. We both saved up coal for a tier 9 premium, he got the Kearsarge and I got the Pommern. My playstyle suits the pommern and his the kearsarge. But I do believe that its got to do with skill a bit as well. The pommern's guns aren't that bad and the armor is a bit more forgiving in my opinion.

I have the ship that you are showing here plus i am grinding the T9 delaware hybrid BB ship because on T9 and T10 i get more citadel hit's on about every ship that i fire at and i do get theses citadel hit from other ships but not as much as i do with theses hybrid ships so there is no way that i would stop using theses hybrid ships and the planes they really help during a battle after you fire you AP shells then launch your planes go bomb another ship and hit F key to return to your ship and when you get back you have a reloaded AP shell gun to fire at your target. For me i love them you have multiple ways to use firing at a ship. Love you videos please keep them coming. Thank you

Yeah, Kaga farms better than most other T8 premiums. The closest results in farm compared to Kaga, I got on Tirpitz and enjoy this ship very much. I've got it for free from trade-in by selling Immelman (I have FDR anyway and enjoy it very much, while was struggling hard to get good results on Immelman and got only mediocre ones). Recommend Kaga in the first place and Tirpitz on the second (mostly for those who hate CVs). Both those options farm much better, than any T9 premiums (unless you have Missoury, Musashi, Jean Bart, Georgia or Alaska. I don't have them so I campare farm with T9 that are currently possible to get. All current T9 are trash if compared to ships listed above)

If you play a ton of carriers, I reccomend Malta. Very sold CV, deletes light cruisers, does great damage against heavy cruisers and battleships. But otherwise, for everyone else, I absolutely reccomend the Kearsarge. It has a very unique style, good gameplay, and good credit output. Just all around a good fun ship. Worth the coal grind.

Bourgogne or Thunderer, short reload HE spammers that still can annihilate cruisers in one salvo on broadside, are free if you want them to, with eco bonuses they print credits like the old Missouri did.

The Kearsarge is by far at least the most interesting design that is more logical than say the Ise or Tone which are glorified seaplane tenders with heavy guns. The length of the flight deck is more comparable to that of a jeep escort carrier, and that aircraft like Devastators, Avengers, Wildcats, Hellcats, Helldivers, and Dauntless' which can take off from such a deck with assistance of catapults.

It’s a ridiculous design. Which is why nobody actually built one from scratch in reality. The Japanese battleships converted were a bodge job to try and get some use out of 2 old battleships at a time when hulls were in short supply and new construction limited. Fine for WoWs as it’s an arcade game. In reality you don’t want to put a ship with a huge amount of aviation fuel in the range of battleship gunfire. You can’t put a massive armoured deck of the necessary thickness that high up in a ship with out issue. So in WoWs yeah,probably great. In reality complete nonsense.

For certain players it will be a very bad premium cause is promoting sitting in back of the map and using it as a mini cv. Last ships I met did that. Personally after 6 years of WOW Mainz and Pommern you should get first and second get Lutjens.

Pommern is trash in every way (even in farm) by comparison with Tirpitz. Kaga and Tirpitz seem to be the best farmers even when compared to T9 premiums that are possible to get (I don't have Missoury, Musashi, Jean Bart, Georgia and Alaska, while have Pommern, Kearsarge, Z-44 and Agir. Compared to those T9 I have Kaga and Tirp farm 2-3 times better in every battle)

actually i prefer tone, for me she's what a cruiser should be : a lot of tool that u have to use them all to do great. She got decent gun, with ijn he, 50sec reload torp, with nearly the best concealment , heal, hydro, and decent plane that u can gice a lot of health. The commander built and the equipment have to specificaly play with concelment torp and plane u can get all good upgrade for that

On the plus side the Kearsarge is an enhanced credit income ship. On the minus side a 40 second reload. The question for me is do the planes make up for the lower DPM due to the slow reload? Yes if your good with them but no if your not plus once you push in quite often you are to close to the enemy to use planes.

As someone with keasarge i do not recomend it, u will get farmed by dds with high explosive... take pommern instead... insane secondaries+ 12 decent enouth guns + torps.

There are a few problems with this ship, first, if you are a PvE player, you can't take this into ops, the credit making PvE mode. Next, some people will hate you for bringing extra "fun police" into the match, and on a related note, you are stuck with the Tiny Tims, while some make like them, others not so much, if you don't like the Tiny Tims on the tech line CVs, this may not be the ship for you as they are main gimmick. Finally, if your are someone who does struggle with aspects of BBs in general or USN BBs in particular, you should fine a ship more inline with you play style. There is no universal "1 premium to rule them all" as what works for me may not work for you,

I have heard you say how good the Keararge is many times, however, I have yet to see anyone make any real impact in the game with it as they always play it like a carrier in the back, so I'm not really sold on it, My go to make credits and have fun is the Thunderer which of course is no longer available!

kearsarge is solid battleship, even if you remove the CV capabilities.... its gun is accurate as heck. the issue is the shell is really slow and not everyone have good predicting abiities.

I have a hard time saying which I would prefer if I could get 1...I have almost all premium ships released pre Christmas 2022 and I have played a lot. Some of my favourites are benham, Belfast, musashi. What I also really enjoy playing is Tiger 59 and some of the American premium t8 cruisers. They are high risk high reward , a playstile I love

Pommern with full Secondary build and the long range thing with concealment. I have a 48% win rate but with pommern, even with all the careless ways I play it... pushing up when there's no need to and dying with a big boom, I have somehow managed to have a 57% win rate with it and a good ammount of avg damage on it. Brawling maybe dead for the game but not for me.

I struggle with the Kearsarge. The bullets are soooo floaty, I barely hit anything over 14 kms, if I go closer I am farmed instantly. I also don't like the tiny tim rockets, they arm in 6 secs or so, I play with the medium rockets on US CVs...

My one ship to recommend would have to be Alaska B. Yes its only available on black friday. Yes WG might pull it to put into some gambling mechanic. But as long as it keeps coming back and being the price of a T9 premium its easily the best premium you can get. Good guns, good survivability, Good utility. Its just never bad.

@@jamesdoe3713farming tier 10 BB with HE at long range is easy and quite braindead way of playing the game sure you have big damage number but you yeld next to zero battle impact in the match. Infact Yoshino, Thunderer, Vincent, Conqueror can do the same HE slinging role if not better than Meck, damage isn’t eveything in the game. How is your PR stat in Meck tho, that’s what I care about.

Hybrid ships should lose half their turrets. If given one, I would never buy it, I would only use the guns. Got rid of my CV's at the rework and haven't played on one since. Dutch cruisers also don't get played as CV's and thus hardly ever played.

for me, if I were to only pick one ship it would be HSF Harekaze. Top in class stealth for speed. 38 knots with 5.35 concealment? Yes please. AA is decent. she wins in dd fights if she is ready for them due to fire rate, or disengagement to let the team handle it while she spots. Basically nothing out spots her and she can outgun what matches her stealth.

I absolutely agree, Sea Lord. The Kearsarge was my first premium ship and I got it for coal of course. The funny thing is that until WoWS introduced the Armory, I had absolutely no idea what to do with coal and vouchers. I'd been playing for over a year, so I had heaps of coal and a 25% off voucher. It mightn't look like it, but it can brawl too. I actually used it in Tier IX brawls quite often. I still haven't spent any real money on the game. Coal is certainly the way to go to get ships with premium economy.

Napoli is just...better. It's more fun, it's got carry potential, and it's a lot more tanky than Kearsarge. Don't trust Sealord on this one, you cannot push in or have game impact in a Kearsarge, that superstructure is massive and you suffer so much in uptiers. Just get the Napoli, the SAP secondaries and fuel smoke is amazing.

Here’s the thing about Napoli, she isn’t a premium, she’s a “special” ship and doesn’t have the baked in premium economy. So if you have the exact same performance in Kearsarge and Napoli, the Kearsarge will net you more credits. Now the Napoli is more fun, sure, but when talking about purchasing a premium to do premium things, Kearsarge is better imo
