This seemed to always be playing on the radio in my moms 1970 Buick Estate wagon when we were kids. It felt longer than a football field, with 3 rows of seats, and had plenty of places to hide. It was fun being a kid in the 70's.

I am a Japanese man born in 1972. When I was a college student, I was crazy about American West Coast music, and I came across this song on the VHS software that contained this video. It was already a classic at that time, but their greatest hits were released in Japan, so I bought it with my part-time job money and listened to it many times. It may be difficult to present this song with these lyrics in this day and age of politically correctiveness, but I love it because it conveys the love and relaxation of the couple at that time. I still listen to it from time to time.

"Soft Rock" was a subgenre of Pop Rock that originated in Southern California in the 1970s with simple, melodic songs. It was something that dominated radio at the time. Who fits into "Soft Rock"? Phil Collins, Eagles, Rod Stewart, America, Carpenters, Neil Diamond etc. Well, it might not even be my favorite style (and maybe yours too), but something of that kind of nice and easy listening music was certainly appreciated. "Seals & Crofts" were ubiquitous at one time. One of the most successful attractions of the so-called "Soft Rock" in the 70's, the duo composed by Jim Seals and Dash Crofts met in 1958 playing together with the singer Dean Beard. But he only decided to go it alone as a duo in 1969. Seals played guitar, sax and violin, while Crofts handled drums, mandolin, keyboards and guitar.
