Whoever came up the the idea of using all those kids was a genius. It enhanced the entire performance and created memories for those kids that will follow them the rest of their lives. I lived through Kent State and never thought I'd see the like again and then we saw what happened on the streets of Portland, Oregon.

I was a student in the crowd on the Kent State campus on May 4, 1970. This song and seeing these kids so involved means so much to me. When I hear Ohio I am brought back to that day and the sad loss of my fellow students... but this rendition sounds joyful and this is how I want to feel from now on. I am joyful that I got to live another 51 years (so far.)

I was just a kid when this happened but these events made me who I am today. This song always makes me tear up... how could it not? Four kids are dead for no reason just as the song decries. Four dead in Ohio. And nobody ever paid for this dereliction of duty.

This is the most stunning and powerful version of the song I've ever heard -- including the original. What drives the power home for me is that -- all those young musician kids whose parents were kids when the killings took place REALLY got into it. I'm depressed at how history-starved kids are today. This brings me hope; this history came alive for and with those kids. This concert was 7 years ago; they're all gonna be voting come November. Let's see if this made a difference to them.
