Wilton Norman Chamberlain is probably the greatest athlete of all time. Basketball and Volleyball hall of fame, great track athlete in college, Arnold said he had world class strength and Hank Stram said he could have been the greatest wide receiver of all time. That’s a pretty wide spectrum.

Greatest athlete is too hard to judge. Jordan? Vince Carter? Barkley for what he could do?David Robinson? Shaq for what he could do for his size. He made quick post moves for his size? Kobe? DWade? LeBron? Zion? Kevin Johnson/ Nate Robinson/ Allen Iverson? It's too subjective. David Robinson for sure is in the running.

Living here in SA since '88....I actually went to a Spurs game before the Admiral & Ninja came to town! Imagining a guy 7 ft tall walking the whole court on his hands is insanely athletic. Dave was 7 ft legit...met him! I think he's shrunk an inch or two. Dave & Wilt are the most athletic 7 footers ever. Hakeem not 7 ft tall, 6'10 ish, the most skilled. Hakeem had no weaknesses

Sometimes people need a rest. If they just played 4 games in 5 days, having a practice immediately is probably not the best idea. It's best not to be so negative when you don't know the full circumstances. For a team that was typically getting 55-60+ wins in the 90's in the middle of the Jordan era, questioning their work ethic makes little sense.

It's weird how on a video barely 9000 people viewed that has nothing to do with Michael Jordan, there's a dozen Jordan fans being toxic in the comments. Do they click on every "most athletic NBA player" opinion video hoping to hear Jordan's name for the 400th time, smile briefly, then immediately close it? Otherwise, begin crusade in the comments about how wrong whatever person in the video is? wtf XD I'm literally a HUGE Jordan fan and think he's the GOAT, but those people are absolutely ridiculous and embarrass normal fans of all teams and players imo. As for this video, Sean is allowed his opinion. He feels that a guy who's seven inches taller and weighs more than 40 lbs more than MJ is more impressive athletically despite having a slightly lesser vertical (still 40") and a couple seconds slower 40 yard dash, that is fine. It is arguably more impressive, so he's entitled to his opinion on that.

@@theuniversegalaxynba Show you my facts about what? That LeBron and Kobe fans are/were worse than MJ ones? Any evidence for any argument either way (yours or mine) would all be anecdotal and need to be taken with a grain of salt. I would argue though, that you perhaps haven't seen "all of the information" either if you're that insistent that MJ fans are the worst out there. I'm guessing you're mainly talking about youtube comments? Since the whole Last Dance thing was fairly recent, I wouldn't argue that MJ fans lately have been bad or even that they might be the worst on this specific website for now, but overall, it's actually not what I've seen over the past 20 years. My "evidence" would be the experience of posting on all of the most popular basketball forums since the mid 2000s (and this is pre-youtube as well), where I can absolutely guarantee you, the threads were all littered with Kobe fans insisting, he's the best player ever while he was still playing, and lately (especially since LeBron's Cavs title), were all doing the same. Since you're a basketball youtube uploader, you probably do run into the bad MJ fans due to some of the content (like this one) you're uploading. But if you were to frequent more NBA forums, you don't see it as frequent. There's more LeBron ones now. And 10-15 years ago, the Kobe ones were much, much worse than both imo. But yeah sure, I could talk to you on your podcast some time if you want. Just DM me the info.

@pebutts
@pebutts Жыл бұрын
@@jgpsalm23 There exists no actual record of Jordan's 40 time or vertical leap measured by a reliable source. The same is true of Robinson. His 40 yard dash time comes from a story told by Roy Williams, who said that the coaches lined all the players up at the start of the year each year to see how fast they could run. Why they would do this is a mystery, but his story is that Jordan ran a 4.38 or 4.39 in 1982. The fastest 3/4 sprint time in NBA combine history was 2.91 seconds by Cookie Belcher. Adjusted for distance that works out to a 4.6 second 40 time. In other words, supposedly Jordan, who never trained as a sprinter or ran track, ran a whole 0.3 faster than any NBA player in combine history. In fact, he allegedly ran faster than almost all players in the NFL combine, where the record for a tight end (i.e. a player of Jordan's size) is 4.38 seconds. Sorry, but I'm not buying it, no matter what Roy Williams says. Jordan's supposed 48 inch vertical is an urban legend. Nobody can ever find where this was actually measured, though commonly it's sourced to unofficial measurements at North Carolina, though no actual source can be identified.
