Not really as he was first diagnosed with cancer in 1990, and this was filmed in 2010.

My 1st 2 cars were Austins, an 1100 then an 1800. My Dad gave them to me when he decided to trade up. I have to thank British Leyland for giving me cars that taught me how to fix EVERYTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG WITH A CAR! You name it, it failed. More than once in some cases. Now I'll only buy Japanese vehicles, they always have top ratings for reliability. One of my mates bought a new electric Jaguar last year and it's had 4 flat tires and no spare so she was stranded. I haven't had a flat for over 20 years! I don't know how you make a tire that's prone to failure but if anyone could do it, it's the British. - End of rant
@dataflowc3 ай бұрын
You are not alone, my first car was a 5yr old Austin 1100 and in the short time I had it my list of faults were: radiator, handbrake, head gasket, piston rings, wiper switch, washers, indicators, sidelights, head lamp, battery, steering column, distributor cap, rocker shaft and valve springs, brake calipers, clutch, fuel line, and this is before we get to the body work. It would have cost me less to go everywhere by taxi 😂
@warren52nz3 ай бұрын
@dataflowc Yeah, I've had a 2nd hand Lexus (2007) for about 10 years and nothing's gone wrong with it. Plus it gets the same gas mileage as my 1100 (25 mpg in start stop traffic and 42 on the highway, yet it's a full-size sedan full of features and does 0-100 in 5.2 seconds! The 1100 did it in 35.

I was a child of the 70s and it was a time where adults basically bowed out. Got pissed all the time, left kids to their own devices and took no responsibility. We all left school whenever we wanted and dragged ourselves up. So many teenagers I knew died from being allowed to drink and drive at age 15

I like Sean as a comedian but I am about sick to death of hearing how awful Brits were back in the '70s. Let alone the 60s, 50s or God forbid the 40s. Imagine, if you can, how utterly utterly dreadful those people must have been.
