As a nursing student I became involved in a near death experiences and wrote a paper on it in the late 1980’s which my English 102 instructor kept my paper. She was fascinated. At that time I worked part time in the emergency room plus had my own out of body experience in labor. I asked my OBGYN about my experience and his answer became a driving force for me to research it. I interviewed doctors, patients, pastors plus applied my experiences as a child and young adult in my personal journey. Even today it is fascinating to me.

I have noticed that nurses talk to their deceased patient. I have experienced this 3 times once when my wife passed, once when my brother-in-law passed, and once when my mother passed. I assumed they were doing so for my benefit, perhaps not though.

I didn't have a near death experience but I did have an out of body experience as a child. I know it wasn't a near death because no one brought me back I just went back. I don't recall how old I was exactly, but I was between 6 and 8 during spring or summer. I was sick with a flu in bed and completely drained of energy after several days of sickness I ended up at my school playground hovering over it. I don't recall floating there, just being there and smelling fresh air, hearing birds and feeling unforgettable peace until I start rising higher than I was comfortable with, which sent me whooshing super fast right back into my body. I have never forgotten this experience and believe it to be a real out of body compared to the normal experience of dreams. It is of course possible that I hallucinated but it felt so real.

I had a near death experience when I was just 5 years old and it is still engrained in my memory. My mum drove with my doctor to the hospital in the middle of the night as I was suffering from a burst appendix. I was taken to surgery immediately and given a complete blood transfusion as my blood was totally poisoned During this operation I floated very high above , seeing the people in white coats and masks and the operation table below. I felt no pain. After being back at home, my mum said that the surgeon had said that if I had come to the hospital 30 minutes later, I would have been dead. So I must have been flat lined for a brief moment when they started working on me. I am convinced that this is what happens.

I had a stroke last 17:42 October. I was in a coma n l was dieing. I could hear doctors. My body was still being driven by my brain. I realized I was dieing when l saw my friends mother at the end of my bed. There was a mist or fog between us. This alerted me to fight for my life. I created a surge and used it to live, not sure what happened but lm still here. X😊😊

What will it take? What? Does God have to appear in front of the surgeons??? Unbelievable! We just lost our 28-year-old daughter in a Florida hospital. She had an appendix that ruptured. And they delayed the treatment for four days. This happened a month ago. The only reason I have not jumped off a bridge to join her is my 95 percent belief in a glorius afterlife. I’ve had a Catholic upbringing, but when we lost our mother, age 72 long time diabetic, who was on a ventilator for six months while I worked her hands every day in the hospital and told her she was going to be all right. My father was with us and by our side every day!! Daddy ❤️That was the year I read two books, life after life, and Saved by the light! And they made sense to me. Total sense!!! and they saved me and my sister, and my father united with us, he was wonderful!!! Then we lost our father eight years after our mother he was shaking in my arms saying hold me son ! now I’m back again trying to keep my family together through this and nobody really cares as much as the parents and the siblings so I again read my old books And Watched videos and this came across this. Which may be the greatest story of them all. Because in the medical profession they claim it’s the brain when someone is in cardiac arrest or who’s heart has stopped, it’s part of the dying process. And this proves they are totally wrong again. I love you, dear Lord Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I’m religious but I’m more spiritual than anything right now. I want to thank everyone in the research field of NDE. I believe! In an amazing afterlife, but I wonder if we knew 100% for sure how different would people be to each other?? Love you all ❤️

Dear Anthony, great testimony ! I'm sorry for your lost. Your daughter is in Heaven and she is so happy. When we die, it means that our life mission is completed. If you feel like reading a great book, I recommend : "Heaven, an unexpected journey", the NDE of Jim Woodford. I have read so many books about NDE's that I truly enjoyed, but this one is special in my heart, I just LOVED it. You will too, I promiss. Also, Randy Kay met Jesus when he had his NDE. You can find Randy on KZbin, he has his own podcast. He cried so much when he told us that he met with Jesus, he won't never forget this event and of course when his time will come, He'll be the happiest man to go back to Heaven.

I had such a powerful NDE when I was nearly five. I’m now 55 years old, and only just discovered what type of tree I was under, in my NDE = was an OLIVE tree! I remember the color, shape & size of the leaves, and the super rough bark of the tree. I was watching an archaeology video, about Israel ; and the host was showing a grove of olive trees. My story - I was 7 months pregnant with my second child, I woke up one morning and just felt I had slept funny a kind of soreness. I rang my mum-in-law.. she said don’t worry baby will be on a nerve. But progressively the pain became worse, a neighbour of mine said come on I’ll take you into hospital. At the time our maternity hospital was separate from the other hospital and about half a mile away from each other. I was in so much pain by the time we got there they didn’t think it was the baby, so by ambulance I was taken to the other hospital. I can remember every uneven road it was excruciating. I can remember being in quite a large room with many Doctors and nurses around me and being wired up, confusion around me they did not know what was wrong and they wouldn’t give me pain killers as it would mask. I heard a young nurse say something which obviously was well over my head at this time. Then I remember being in so much pain I wanted to die I just wanted the pain to stop. Next thing I was in the purest of white light, it should have hurt my eyes it was that bright whiter than white. It was beautiful peaceful unconditional love at its purest. Then I heard, I didn’t see my father or my sister they were Hi Kate. They were over joyed happy, calling me. At that moment I knew and it was a shock reaction which I think must have brought me back. I spent 3 months in hospital I had a PE blood clot in my lung. Baby was fine and then when I arrived home the neighbour who took me in came across to see me. I can remember thinking to myself why was dad and my sister happy I was dead, it really mess with my head but I never spoke a word of it to anyone as I didn’t understand it myself Lyn and I had a coffee and then she said did anything happen to you when you were in hospital, why I said she said well you had a flat line for 3 minutes. My baby will be 32 this week. That experience change my life, I no longer fear death. ❤

I had a NDE on December 26. I heard a pop in my head when I coughed. I immediately left my body and was immersed in bright white light. I came back and the miracles started. I was a sociopath. I was extremely depressed and suicidal. I had no conscience and bad urges to be a serial killer which I was able to fight. I never hurt anybody physically. I was always mad and angry. I was a huge bodybuilder and I enjoyed intimidating people. After my NDE I have a new soul and a conscience. I never had a voice inside me telling me what to do or not do. It’s a strange thing to have to get used to at 55. I am not capable of getting angry. I can’t get mad. I don’t get depressed or even upset about anything. I broke up with my wife yesterday because she cheated and I am not affected because I can’t get upset or angry. It’s strange but a blessing. I spent 55 years being wasted with anger and being mean to people. I was a true jerk. I have normal human empathy and emotions which are very strange for me. I know people normally learn to deal with this as a kid but I didn’t have a conscience or normal emotions. I cry and have empathy now. My 17 year old daughter told me that she had never seen me smile, laugh or be nice. That still makes me cry when I think about how much I wasted my life. I was also blessed with a what feels like unlimited ability to learn and remember anything. I get information downloaded and available to me if I am interested. Right now I am interested in and learning astrology, horticulture, science, physics, both theory and quantum mechanics and physics all have my attention lately. I also only need about 1 hour of sleep a day and I need a little to eat every few days. I usually eat a protein rich eggand cheese sandwich grilled in garlic, olive oil and butter. This all I need about 1 sandwich every 3 days. I still notice small changes every once in awhile. It’s like a game to see what more God has blessed me with

Dr. Jean-Jacques Charbonier, resuscitator, anesthetist, prefers the term: temporary death, because they are not almost dead but dead, they are resuscitated. Also, when we look at the case of Anita Moorjani, to name just this case, her organs stopped functioning and she had stage IV cancer and she was made to understand in Heaven that if she decided to return to earth, she would heal within a few weeks and that's what happened. The greatest scientists studied her file and all they could say was that it was a miracle. I'm sorry for my english, I'm french canadian. All this to say that it is very difficult to remember a dream that goes in all directions and which, very often, makes no sense, but these experiences are clear and crystal clear and they are etched in the memory of the person who experienced it. We must never forget the fruits that these experiences bring to people, because they become totally transformed and want to do good. What about atheists who have become hyper-believers after their experience .

I left my body at 15 when a group of friends and I were camping and playing the “pass out game”. It was my family’s land so I knew all the land marks really well. I was going up and up and could see further and further out until I could see the interstate that was probably 3 or 4 miles away. Then I started going back down and couldn’t see as far out anymore. Then I could just see our camp fire, my friends tracker and a group of people in a circle looking down, then I opened my eyes and they were all huddled in a circle around me. They were asking me if I was all right because I really passed out for a while and I remember think or maybe a died for a minute. It would be weeks later before I said anything about my experience. Poorly dictated, in a hurry, but you get the point.

I've never heard the term that you use: a "shallow NDE". I did talk to a young Muslim* dude, once, who was very, very sick and in the hospital, years ago. (His heart didn't stop, but he had this "out-of-body experience".) Is that what you mean, by referring to your experience as a shallow NDE? *P.S.: I only mention 'muslim' because there were religious and cultural overtones to his experience: which is an indication to commenters, here, that there is more to the story.

I am grateful for the experience & I am a far better person than before. I gained so much & I have been able to help many people because of my gifts that I was given. I learned more about helping others than all of the college could possibly teach me. Spread the word to others that this is REAL &, they too will experience upon death. No need to fear. I almost died like 14 times(4 near drownings, 3 overdoses, multiple illnesses, …), and I used to wonder, why am I still alive? But when I put those experiences together with my ghost experience (I was 11), and my dream where a friend who passed away came to me or brought me to heaven , it was amazing. But with those experiences, I feel like I need to share it with people to help them find or continue their faith 🙏 cuz LoveIsTheLight 🌎❤️♾🙏

I have never had a near death experience, but I have had another experience that I wonder if anyone else has had. Twice in my life I have had someone who has just died "stop by" me to say goodbye. The first time was when I was 12 years old. A woman who I was very close to was dying from cancer. We knew she was getting close to dying, but I didn't think it was going to be that day. She was in her home across town from me. I was in the bathroom getting ready for the day that morning. All of a sudden I had a strong awareness of her there. I didn't see or hear anything. I just knew she was there with me and a strong sense of goodbye. I even said good bye out loud to her. Later I found out that was the time she died. The second time was when I was 49 years of age. My mom was dying. We knew it would be soon, and my brother and I had received a call that we needed to get to where my mom was because it would be soon. I was walking out the hotel front door when all of a sudden I felt my mom there. I said "Mom?" And I felt it was a goodbye. When we arrived at the hospice we found that she had passed away right at the time I felt her presence. Both women had a huge impact on my life. I think it may have been because of our strong bond. I wonder if they were having that type of experience that you are describing before they moved on to be with God. Has anyone else experienced this?

My Father was mowing the lawn in my garden (2002) - I was in the house listening to my Mother reading a story to my kids (14 & 12) when it felt like someone tipped a bucket of iced water over me. I instantly knew my father had passed away. I went to look out of the kitchen window and saw him flat to his back! I did CPR on him until the Ambulance arrived but they couldn’t revive him. 3 times after this he appeared so vividly in my dreams until I reminded him he was dead and shouldn’t be with us. Something in the long run I regret as he’s never appear again to me.

II-wx4kv You're making an assumption that the brain is the cause of our thoughts and perceptions of reality. Another view of the function of the brain is consistent with NDE experiences, and that view is that the brain is more like a radio receiver which receives stimulation from the mind, or soul, which acts as the transmitter to the radio. For a person who had never seen a radio before, it appears that the music is coming from the radio, just as it appears that our thoughts are coming from our brain. There are many NDE's where the brain is shut down without brain waves, while at the same time the person finds himself outside of his body with a clear mind. In this situation, the brain can't function at all.
@harlanlang6556
@harlanlang6556 6 ай бұрын
@II-wx4kv Is it the brain that's doing the constructing of all the details? Why not say that the mind is the power? The brain is an instrument through which the mind connects with the body and the material world. Have you seen the movie Avatar? In this movie humans grew these alien bodies and then somehow put the human body to sleep and let the mind inhabit the avatar, the alien form. For me, this is a demonstration of what I'm talking about. The reason we think of the brain as the source of thinking is that we live in a very materialistic culture where only material things are accepted as real. But many, maybe most ancient cultures understood the spiritual reality which underpinned all things. Physicists are now coming back to that understanding with their understanding of the quantum field as the underpinning reality from which the material world emerges. And this quantum field is not a material thing, but more like energy and potential, as I understand it. But the condition of the body can affect our mind. A full bladder at night sends signals to the mind which can then create dreams which might include the need to pee. Anxiety in life, such as the stress of taking tests in school, can cause stressful dreams of going to class and you can't even remember what the class is about. The mind is stressed, but the brain just wants to sleep.

Dr. Long is one of my favorites! His presentations are so organized, concise and interesting. I almost daily visit his NDERF site where there are new downloads of NDE experiences every week. After reading so many of them, you get a sense of what a genuine NDE is like. It's interesting that people who live in Western countries have become more and more materialistic, less spiritual and less interested in religion, and the discovery of NDE's is reviving "knowledge" of an afterlife and showing that the teachings of ancient religions concerning this afterlife are based in reality and not just wishful thinking. And it's also interesting that NDE experiences don't usually tell people that when they return to their earthly life they should join a particular church or connect with a particular religion. They're shown what is important in life....love and kindness, and that they have a purpose, but never come back knowing what that purpose is. My feeling is that this purpose in life has to be our actions in showing love to people. It reminds me of Jesus telling his disciples that they would be known by the love they show to one another.

The details these people describe is hard to explain otherwise. Death has a certain curiosity, much of religion itself is connected with many of us wanting to know what's coming. The blind experiencing vision, much more spherical vision, is astounding.

This is fascinating! I have never had a near death experience but I have experienced “anesthetic awareness” - during the birth of my third child in 1990 I had to undergo an emergency C-Section after being in labor for eight hours. They put me under and I “woke up” while laying there. I say “woke up” but it was awful. I could hear the medical team talking. I could not move or open my eyes and I started to panic when I realized they were about to begin the operation. Somehow I was able to move one finger and scratch it on the operating table. I heard someone say “She’s awake” and the next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room as they handed me my baby. I was told afterwards by the nurse that it happened because they try not to over anesthetize the mother so as not to kill the baby during the emergency c-section! I’m glad about that! But I wanted to confirm as Dr. Lang said that this type of experience is NOTHING like what I’ve heard and read about NDE’s.

I was with my mom when she was dying also. She was in her 90s had had a stroke and had not been able to speak for a couple weeks. Then a couple days before she died when she became unconscious and seemed asleep, she started talking - calling out to her family members who had died, one by one over a period of maybe 15? hours. Most of them she just said their name in love as though she was greeting them. Two of them she asked them for help- her mother and one of her four brothers. In particular, she asked her brother to help her “get in.” Then when he apparently could not, she asked him to help her get in the “back door.” She spoke to her brother who died in WWII at the age of about 19 as though he were super young, calling him “Billy” although she had always spoken of him as “Bill.” She always spoke to her dad as “Daddy” although she always called him “Dad” in our presence. She died maybe a day or two later. Still unable to say a word when her eyes were open, unlike this brief time she was unconscious. I am sure she was not really dead during that time she was seeing her family since it went on so long, but was just near death. She was in a nursing home.

Suddenly I was inside it and I felt a profound love, it felt like I was plugged into it and was given the answers to every question I have ever had…I knew why I was here and what my purpose was…I kept saying Yes yes yes and was filled with overwhelming Love and joy…then someone said you have to go back and I was sucked back in to my body. Consciousness is sustained for at least three minutes after blood perfusion is interrupted. Perhaps the most famous account is that of Anton Lavoisier, the famous scientist who was beheaded during the French Revolution. Before he was beheaded, he arranged with friends to have them observe him blinking his eyes as long as he remained conscious. Brain cells, like all eukaryotic cells, generate most of their ATP energy via the Krebs cycle, which occurs in mitochondria. This requires oxygen. But the oxygen in arterial blood and tissues isn’t immediately exhausted when circulation ceases. Furthermore, cells can sustain themselves for a time even after oxygen is exhausted via “anaerobic” pathways that generate ATP energy. So, these accounts of “near death” experiences merely reflect continued consciousness that is sustained until all sources of cellular energy are exhausted. Just because the EKG goes “flat” doesn’t mean that consciousness is extinguished.

When OBE takes place, the vision is 360 degrees. Secondly, under OBE, the spiritual body can go through any close door or barrier with no problem or not hit by a ceiling fan. @@YOUARESOFT. Your answer proves my point and was exactly what I was looking for. And that is we both have anecdotes and none of them can be verified therefore they are worthless. You often hear "seen people during their NDE they hadn't even known had died" but I've never seen such an interview or statement by any such family to validate this. It's just some anecdote which then moves through the fake-scientists Greyson, Jeffrey Long and others and it automatically becomes a "fact". And it's further spread by other NDE-book writers, who wants to make a buck and make their own brain-trip more legitimate. The claim itself is not evidence. I can claim that I'm 3 meters high, and others agree, then go on youtube and argue that there are humans that are 3 meters tall because others have seen it. It's very easy. It's harder to get these witnesses to actually come forward, let alone prove it. Show me an interview on KZbin where this is corroborated by both the NDE:er and the third party together. You won't find such a case. You need to ask yourself WHY scientists fail to prove NDEs whenever they are actually done through real science and controlled experiments. Have anyone EVER seen the cards and symbols that have been placed in multiple studies over the years high up near the ceiling? No, never. The excuse is that "they weren't looking". Even If they placed a cap on top of the patient with trump in a thong, I'm 100% sure they wouldn't see it, even though they were looking at their body. Because they never left it.

It's strange that Vicki like so many others had 360 degree vision but the reason the studies in the ER haven't confirmed it is the display is"way off" on a cabinet where the patient can't see it because they're looking down where the action is.

Same question. I talked to a guy who died and believed that he was being taken to heaven via that same “tunnel”. He was not at all a Christian, so I wondered why did he feel like he was on his way to heaven. Part of me almost wonders if everyone goes to heaven where God is to be judged first? That would make sense why people would feel peace and love because they were going towards God’s presence without knowing that they are going to the judgment seat? Maybe I’m way off, but just a thought.

it's because of this reason, that all experiences need to judged by the bible. I have no doubt that both god and the devil put out visions. remember that the devil comes like an angel of light to deceive people.

If not real based on the fact that all religions experience the same thing then what can it be? Just seeking for understanding as I have wondered too about the fact that people of all beliefs including atheism go through the same thing. Dr Long has talked about hellish or distressing NDEs. This is what he says. Firstly, the number is very very low. Secondly, they are usually in comas or where its not really near death in that their brains still function, so most likely are hallucinations. From NDE accounts, you could be in a dark place called "the void" some feel immense fear while some felt nothinf, but usually they end up in the light anw.

I had a look on Dr Long's website. In the first 'Exceptional NDE' story I read, the man speaks of meeting an ancestor: "For some reason I asked if he was Atlantean. He replied, 'Far older.' He explained that he was part of the first colonists. I asked, 'Colonists of what?' He told me Earth." and then: "He said that although we are the same species, he comes from a humanity that evolved on another world. His physical appearance is different and might be a little jarring." This all sounds demonic and New Age to me. Before I became a Christian, I read about reincarnation, and it was so convincing to me because so many people who had been hypnotised described the very same experience of 'death' and learning from their past lives, and choosing their new lives. They had verifiable information about their past lives and had weird and wonderful memories. Then I realised that demons can create these illusions. This NDE stuff seems the same to me. None of it leads to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way.
@lynseypearson
@lynseypearson 7 ай бұрын
I just read another 'Exceptional NDE' story by 'Jeff'. Jeff states that this was not even an NDE; it was a strange experience he had at home where "energy from above was entering my body from top to bottom." Jeff talks about how Jesus is real, but then goes on to say: "We knew God before we decided to come to earth in physical form. Our guides help us choose each life to learn what we need to learn. Sometimes we are a man, others a woman. Sometimes white, black or brown. We need to come back to earth repeatedly until we learn before we graduate. For some, it takes hundreds of lifetimes." He goes on to say: "God also filled in the answer of why he sometimes lets horrible things happen on Earth. Why do innocent kids die of disease? Most times the lesson isn’t for the child that passes, the lesson is for their loved ones to experience what they need to experience." This is unbiblical nonsense. Is Dr Long a Christian? If so, why is he publishing these unbiblical stories?

I had an NDE but i don't have any proof of the actual dying. I can only tell you what i experienced. One night i was aseep beside my husband, he'd been quite ill with cancer but he was in remission. I was having trouble with my sleeping and i would stop breathing through the night. ( i now know it is called sleep apnea). Well i had finally fallen asleep when suddenly i was floating up to the top right hand corner of the ceiling in my bedroom. I could just see above the curtain rod and see the street outside my bedroom. It was very dark and wet, not raining tho. Not a soul in sight but it looked so still outside. It hadn't rained at all so i don't know why it was so wet but it was like looking into another realm. I looked back to my left and landed on the bed end of my bed. ( it was an old wooden bed with both ends as high as each other. I was sitting on the bed end of my bed with my legs crossed just looking down at my husband and myself laying in the bed asleep so i thought. Suddenly i realised there was someone sitting next to me the same as i was and i said but without words " oh is that what it's like to die?" It was me thinking and the person knew what i was thinking and vice versa i knew what the person was thinking. Telepathically. The person next to me said without words " yes" I said " wow there is nothing to be afraid of. dying just happens." ( i didn't know I was dead until i saw myself laying next to my husband.) The person disappeared and suddenly i drew in a huge breath as i had come back into my body. I never knew who that person was but i felt as if i knew them and that i could trust them. There was no fear in any of this experience, yet i was always very afraid of dying because i would stop breathing during the night. I have told very few people about this but am willing to talk about it when the need arises. It was in the late 70s or early 80s I was in my 20s i had 2 children at the time. I have had 2 other spiritual experiences and other unbelievable experiences but not by me dying. I know it wasn't a dream as i remember it so vividly and im in my 60s now.

I remember in my 30's waking up one morning and as I lay in bed, I looked towards the window at the bottom of my bed and could see the sun shining through from the gap at the top of my closed curtains. I smiled and was thinking about what to do with my day when all of a sudden I had this weird sense of a presence that had entered my bedroom. As I slowly turned my head towards the bedroom door, a HUGE angel appeared above me from the ceiling and this angel held one finger to his/her lips, in my mind I heard "shhhh, everything will be ok." Next thing I was travelling at speed through a tunnel and what staggered me afterwards was I seemed to know exactly where I was going. I panicked BIG TIME, thinking about my 3 young children, I was pleading with God, "please, I cannot leave my children, I love my children, please don't take me away from my children, pleeeeeese". Next thing I heard this almighty EXPLOSION in my head and I immediately opened my eyes and I was back in my bed. I lay there thinking that explosion, I'd never heard ANYTHING as loud as that before, then remembering the tunnel, I jumped out of bed, put my slippers on and hurried downstairs. Once in the kitchen, I paced up and down like a lunatic repeating over and over "what in God's name just happened". I must have been at it for 20 minutes or so, in total shock as it felt realer than real and remembering the angel communicating with me what seemed like telepathically. I've never ever forgot that and I'm 62 now. I often wonder had I not fought to stay with my children, what might I have learned from that? Back then, I was never into nde's. Didn't even know anything about them or the afterlife. I do recall also in my teens, going on journeys after I'd fallen asleep, where I was floating and it was so freaking real that I was convinced on awakening that I could get out of bed and literally raise myself from the floor and float. Of course though, I couldn't mores the pity lol as it was a wonderful feeling to feel so light and free with no actual need to walk. Just glide along. I miss those experiences.

Most near death experiencers don’t experience Jesus. You should really let your mind open up to all of the experiencers, not just those which coincide with your world view. Why would Jesus send someone to hell just because they have a religion where they don’t believe he is the son of God? That’s literally condemning a person for having different beliefs or being born in a different culture, which I call psychopathy &/or narcissism. We are given free will to believe what we believe, and he created us to be the way we are! That is literally the opposite of a loving Jesus. People are not judged, nor condemned. If they go to hell, it is by their own creation.

Would much rather hear an after death experience - the kind Lazarus experienced which made those around remark, "He stinketh" however it was said in Aramaic.

I hear you, but give this a chance. The evidence is remarkable.

This is comforting to me. I lost the love of my life last year. Since he didn't get the Lazarus experience, I know that only his body died, not the real him. He is in the Heavenly Realm. I'll take what I can get.

I’ve always thought the same thing. And sometimes I wonder why any experience Lazarus may have had during death was never mentioned in the Bible. Perhaps because Jesus wants us to believe and trust HIS words and not Lazarus’s words.
