Why do reviewers hate the pop out windows? Good ventilation and low noise on the motorway and more secure to leave open in hot weather when parked.

Just lock the screen into landscape before you put it in to the holder so then it can't go back to portrait mode until you unlock it 😁

Great video! Where can I get the £100 per month lease deal? Checked online and £180 is the cheapest offer.

From your unlocked iPhone, swipe down from the top right hand corner to reveal the Control Centre. Press on the red/white button of a padlock with a 3/4 circle around it, so that the button is now black and white. You have now unlocked the screen lock. Swipe up again to remove the Control Centre. When you put the phone landscape, it will now automatically change to landscape orientation.

There should be more videos around the intricacies of leasing, as opposed to buying. With the car world being in a serious transitory period, I was thinking my mum should probably lease her next car(s) for a a few years before the market settles into a more stable groove.

Would you please consider doing an item on how electric cars works for a broader use. Can they be fitted with tow bars, is towing a caravan possible and what would it do to range? Same question about top boxes or bikes on racks etc. I think the broader use of electric cars needs to be explained..you? Thanks

Semi helpful answer, we own a 2018 Golf GTE and had a Westfalia detachable tow bar fitted by the vw dealer pre-pickup, dedicated electrics not universal so the car knows its towing and adjusts many attributes, I beleive including gear changes and power feed in along with the usual stability control stuff. The car is a Hybrid however a couple of things; we were lucky from research pre 2018 there was alot of confusion over whether a tow car could be fitted to a EV/Hybrid of this model (speakEV forums), something to do with manufactorer accreditation. Glad we did however, with Covid restrictions last year affecting abroad holidays, post lockdown one we went exploring the Isle of White which was fab. The unbraked towing capacity for our car is 740KG from memory, i didnt notice my range drop much if at all, of course you can feel the extra weight but just be gentle with the right foot and its no bother. Hope the insight is useful - considering the aerodynamics of a trailer tent are not a massive hinderance compared to a caravan which is taller than a typical car's roof line, id say range on a pure EV - expect to lose 1/3rd to 1/2 at worse your real world non towing range.

I don't get the UK pricing. This thing is the equivalent of £16k in Poland, and that's BEFORE the government grant! With it, it gets as low as £13,5k!

@@PaulByron4d What range are you getting?
@PaulByron4d
@PaulByron4d 3 жыл бұрын
@@serendipity923 really depends on weather and speed and how I drive. It’s around 130-150 miles on full or near full but I’ve done 30 mile trips where I’ve barely used 10 miles due to a lot of downhill areas (very good recuperating on the brakes) to 60 mile trips that seemed to use 80 miles (long dual carriageway)

Really nice,and good to hear 160mi is achievable....even in winter ?
@electricwhirl5175
@electricwhirl5175 3 жыл бұрын
do your own math - in winter (0..+5 'C) on highway I get around 100km (@120km/h) -140km (@90km/h). On the city the same around 140km (if calculator correct, then 87 miles). On summer you can get in eco+ mode with very gentle right foot around 260km. The official range is achievable only if you drive battery down to zero, but that's bad for battery. In practical terms on range left for about 30-40km it starts to limit power/heating. In winter it gets really cold inside so you don't want to drive in eco mode, only with boots, thermo socks, hat and gloves :D

I seem to average 130 miles at the moment, December-now in the UK about -5 to 1 degree Celcius if I'm doing just town trips and a weekly 30 mile round trip to the city (no motorway). I've done 2 longer journeys in December with a long dual carriageway (70-75mph for about 20 minutes) and that really taxed the car so a 60ish mile journey took about 80-90 miles of electric.

36,8 kWh it says in my manual and I get more or less 250 km in summer with a fair amount of motorway driving. In winter it drops to 190 km. But it all depends on how you drive, like a fossil fuel car.
