Consider Haval H2 Second Hand? 50 000km Honest Ownership Update!

Haval H1. 110 000km. Just did regular oil changes and filters. At 100 000km did the belts, shocks, water pump and thermostat. Most services (township oil change - not the dealer) were R1 200. Also did a battery - R1 300. The big service at 100 000km was around R10 000 for everything. Totally reliable - no problems. Oh, also had a stone in the windscreen. R1 500 excess (King Price). Fixed within two weeks. Comprehensive insurance is R700 per month.

Those should even be more reliable as they don't have a turbo. I am glad that the major service is not that expensive as those can be bad in other brands. Thanks a lot for this valuable info, looking forward to 100 000km to see it standing as firm as it's holding right now. I need to shop around for insurance, it's a little expensive considering that we paying for 3 cars on one policy🤔

I don't do 'services' though. That, for me, is a total rip off. I do (township) oil changes - around R1 000 - and if something needs replacing (I check the manual), like the timing belts and bearings, I do it at the dealer. But a proper 'service' - no thanks - not needed. And the car was so cheap (R110 000), and now only worth around R80 000, that the 'penalty' on the resale by not having the 'service book' stamped is OK by me.@@sebuwam

Your breakdown is spot on bro. My dad owned one and the two things I picked up which weren’t so nice was the fuel consumption and the turbo lag, otherwise it’s good value for money.

💯💯. Indeed it's a good value for money car, those are my biggest concerns as well. You always have to squeez everything out of it and the consumption is bad🥲

Interesting, monna. I think it's an ok car, I doubt service would be expensive, so let us know once you start paying for service. The funny thing though, i pay R1400 for 2022 H6 4AWD Luxury. So insurance might be high. But overall, all its a lovely car.

I feel robbed now with the insurance. I am over 30 with no single major claim (except windows) for the last 10 years and still regarded as a high risk above my wife who once claimed, imagine. It is really holding up well, even at service they never brought up any issues. I will surely do an update once we cross over. Thank you so much for coming by my brother🙂🙏🏽🫶🏾

The six star screw screw driver is called torx very common in German cars like VW Audi etc.

Yes, there are things I don't like but at it's price point as a second hand (besides the "inflated" ones) it is still a great contender. It is really holding up well and I am also impressed. She does like it just sometimes she feels it's too big for everyday driving and still misses her old clio but she is fine. Thank you so much🙂🙂🙏🏽

Do not even consider Tiggo 4 Pro Sebuwa, your Haval H2 is waaay better than the Tiggo 4 Pro... Rattles(that can't be known where they comin from), terrible windnoise, with a squeeky sound that's coming from the side mirror erea....most Tiggo 4 Pro owners have this problem, complaining about it...no solutions yet...some had their door rubbers replaced.

Idk maybe yours is a lemon or one of the first batch of pro4 that came into SA especially because I heard it's thing with many manufacturers that some first batches of cars aren't always perfect 🤷🏾‍♂️cause my sister has one that she got brand new, a 2022 Elite S model with the sunroof and the top spec 1.5T CVT auto with currently just under 20 000km on the clock🤔no problems what's so ever and she loves that car, none of the issues you mentioned have never occured on her car plus she also has 2 car seats strapped in the back seats which on their own have rattles lol but nothing to complain about

The sound system is crappy, I also had the same challenges with the wheel sensors, uphill u have no power, ul change down from gear 6 to 3 to just get power..petrol consumption is crappy. traveled from joburg to Nelspruit n when i got to Nelspruitit was 1/4 empty averaging 120/130...for me it's a No on the Haval..

Yoh this sound system😭. I think generally H2 was not well caliberated for performance optimisation. You have to force it to perform in most cases. Change downs are a norm. It almost always goes to fetch the power from lower gears. Go beyond 120 and fuel consumption is something else. To get 700km on a tank you need 110-120 but Nelspruit? I am sure after Machadodorp Toll Plaza real challenges are starting😅

I honestly never had a reason to look for anything else apart from battery, light bulb and windscreen (which came within 2 days). Parts are a nightmare for most brands now actually

I think the screw driver you referring to is called "T20" they come with different sizes like "T10, T15, T20, T25, T30 and so forth, but "T20's are the ones you usually find in most cars for such things

The screwdriver is called torx, if you have a misfortune of owning a vw, you will have a set. The windshield excess with insurance is almost double what i paid to replace my windshield without insurance.

I just googled and you right. Ey that one, I can't even figure out sizes with ease, I think it's there on the Fiesta as well, just don't remember where. Yoh, I was told that the Windscreen here is about R7K but you know these guys with prices. When insured they inflate🤞🏾
