I went to a very liberal law school and our opinions changed so much reading and hearing from reformed felons. We started with the naive; just dont violate the law. But we quickly realized that it’s more like the laws apply differently to people depending on race and wealth. It should be that way so we learned how to reach justice using the broken system that we had at the time. Some cases were going to lose going into it but they had to be addressed and debated to make change. But it’s a no win going into a bleak situation and gambling with a persons life. This is just the very edge of the tip of the iceberg of knowledge and skills we tried to hone over 3-4years. I loved it and hated. I do not work in law right now. I burned out fast. I wanted to help and empower people and just drowned in paperwork and running to file with courts in a very old fashioned and analog system when there exists secure tech to make it easier. So frustrating

my question is how was it editing you kissing yourself? lol
@christinacastaneda84296 ай бұрын
My knowledge is anecdotal only. What I find amazing is how simple or small situation are treated as way more dramatic or significant to inmates. These seemingly overwhelming situations feel way more world ending because the people inside are in a closed society. A small fight with a fellow inmate takes up all of a person’s attention and energy when if those same interactions happened on the outside would not be a big deal to the people involved. I get it it’s like because there is nothing else going on around and you cant leave the jail to change your surroundings, change the people interacting with you or distract yourself with other problems or relationships.

Tina I really appreciate your content because both of my parents have been to jail (due to addiction which they both beat 😁) but I just remember them telling me how awful it was. Sometimes I'll show my mom your videos, and she often relates to them. I love how honest and educational you are! I'm 23, and your videos definitely solidify my desire to never want to go there. It's also very helpful to know all of the tips you give - everyone should know what can land you in jail, and what to expect if they end up there! So many things seem ordinary to most until basic rights are taken away! For example, I'm curious to hear you talk more about the things we take for granted and don't often think about unles we end up in jail - such as how humbling it must be to have to go to the bathroom in front of other people... I know I would NOT have a good time there! 😅 Thank you for sharing your stories. You are an inspiration! ❤️🩹☺️

So to make the long story short she used to get bullied cause she could not read and write. So ii had to step up and say something. Why cause ii don't like seeing nobody in mean male or female get bully cause ii use to get bully grow up. I already know cause ii used to do it wit my ex boyfriend

It’s crazy how some jails have tablets and maybe even phones? Idk. My home jail has tablets now where they can send the messages, make calls from a certain time to a certain time, and even do video chats. They can buy games for their tablet, movie passes, and music. But it’s all SO CRAZY EXPENSIVE! I know I couldn’t afford all that AND commissary.

What about CO to CO relationships?? My dad was a Sargent in the prison system and he was a huge cheater!! And ive always wondered if the inmates ever see the CO'S being obvious about flirting, etc??
@divineprophetess32805 ай бұрын
Worked in a prison and a jail and yes. The men are horrible. I was married and every single male was after me. And when I turned them down, they all ganged up on me and started abusing me. If you ever go in, be mindful and don't trust your coworkers. It was inhumane what they did to me.
@nancyleith77654 ай бұрын
You forget the point here. When an inmate is getting out instructions are given not to associate with other inmates, drugs gang. So if your bestie helped you along while locked up fine. You gotta be proud she doesn’t contact you whilst out. That is emotional dépendance

I gave a CO pics I was able to get of myself sent to the jail to give to my. Bf who was also locked up. Me and the CO were cool enough that I slipped these pics through the fence and he said he’d give them to my bf. They were a little revealing and guess what happened…the CO gave them to a random dude on another block! They went through several blocks before another guy I knew who was locked up saw them and took them from the dudes on the block and stopped them from going around. Me and this guy had same yard time and our yards were close enough that we could see and talk to each other (if that one CO was on). He sent me a few things via the CO like a sweatshirt and some contraband and kites through the library.
