I got tired of panhandling, being homeless, trying to get a hookup, having "friends" who don't care about me, the anxiety and depression. I was over it all. I went to detox for two weeks, a 30-day rehab, then a 3 month rehab, and then I did a 6 month program! Now I have my own apartment and four years sober! I had done 30-day rehabs before, but apparently, I wasn't ready.

@leslie3550 Жыл бұрын
@jennsimpson_backup3333 it absolutely can be you. I'm sure you've heard this before, but if I can get clean and sober, so can you. It's not easy unless you are ready and ready to want it. Even so, there will be cravings and dreams sometimes. And just because you are sober doesn't mean life becomes perfect. Things get easier and better because you now have a real feeling of gratitude. We have to put one foot in front of the other to stay sober, to not be homeless, get those things back (kids, family, license, ect), to like yourself, ect. But trust me, as long as you stay clean and sober life WILL GET BETTER! ♥️

Congratulations to you, my son just checked in detox on Friday morning. They are putting him in a program afterward. He had a place with my mom and me and us both at friends and his other grandparents. He messed it up at every place. Everyone gave up, but I'm still here for him. Now, he's been homeless for a few years. I'm so happy and proud he did this. So relieved. He lost his girlfriend on june 11th she took a pill, and the next morning, she was gone, and he found her. It was her 40th birthday. On june 12th. I'm in my car but clean. I need to get my life together also. God bless us all!

The jails and prisons here do inhumane things and are not places of rehabilitation. We NEED reform and we NEED IT NOW. It's disgusting and appalling the things that happen and you can't have an inhumane stuff going on or it will get out of control. We have learned this from History. Humans are idiots! We need more awesome people like you to speak out on what happens so the general public will realize and want change to happen.

American prisons are quite easy going, when my father was arrested in Georgia during Soviet times he was in a tiny cell with 14 other starving, being beating everyday. American prisons system is hard but your lucky that USA has human rights. (My dad was arrested for being a pro Georgian independence who sadly was killed during the 2nd Putin invasion in the country )

Imagine being less intelligent so you can’t understand what’s up so well. It’s easy to see how some of these guys get tricked into basically liking being arrested. Did you ever realize that white tees are what they give you when they release you from jail. Slides shoes are so regular for some men they walk like they do in jail all the time shuffling feet you can heart them coming

As a german i agree totally with that! I just can't believe that it is so much different between germany and the USA. Crazy what going on in your jails

But the struggle of focusing on where YOU are at based on YOUR recovery and not in relation to the people around you and what they’re doing (which I have a very hard time doing at this point after a huge life event) is so real and speaks out to me a lot

20 years clean next month…it IS possible to overcome addiction for good…it’s like when you’re driving your car and you have your front view which represents your future…your side mirrors which represent your present…your rear view to represent your past…if you spend more time looking in the rear view mirror you will crash and never get anywhere…if you want to move forward you have to spend most of your time looking out your windshield than your other mirrors…utilize your side mirrors to protect you from any immediate danger and recognize opportunities before changing lanes…but spend most of your time looking forward and you’ll be much more safer and have the best chance to arrive at being clean forever…there is a point when you will hardly if ever think about drugs again…I’m proof…DOC was cocaine 10 years as a functioning addict…glad that’s over 👍

My nephew got caught up in drugs, which eventually landed him in jail, and from jail into rehab, which he got himself kicked out of for two weeks..twice. Nobody in the family wanted him, and I could see this cycle starting of taking him back to rehab, getting himself kicked out which was going to look really bad compliance wise when he finally got a trial date. Jail scared him, and he really wanted to turn his life around, so, even though I was finally free of all responsibility for the first time in 57 years, I offered him a place to stay. I live a long way away from his old friends and stomping ground ( important) and my only rule was no drugs. He has just celebrated 4 years clean, and we are still living together and his charges, by the time they got to court were vacated, because he had turned his life around. Half the reason it’s so hard for people is because they have nowhere to go except back to the same place, around the same people..or they are homeless..and so they fall back into what they know and it becomes a vicious cycle..I’m so proud of you for making this channel, it’s so important and if you help just one person, that’s one person saved. God bless you for being courageous and honest. It’s hard, and you’re winning. Much love from 🇦🇺🐨🦘💛♥️🌺♥️

Your videos are so fantastic!! Jails should not be for-profit and the way we treat people in jails and prisons is so inhumane. But to shift topics, don’t feel like you can only make videos about the past! I love your cooking and makeup content 💗

I know it feels horrendous, I've dealt with food addiction issues in my past and I still struggle sometimes, but I will take my worst day now than my best day dealing with a food addiction that led to me being over 400 pounds and unable to move!

You know, I have never been in trouble. Thank God, However, I always wondered what it was like in jail. I can appreciate what you are doing here with your channel. Good people can make some bad choices right, just don't ever let it define who you are. So, I work in pharmacy, 37 years now. I have seen some bad things unfortunately thought out these years. Drugs really can hurt people in every way shape or form whether it be street drugs or pharmaceutical. I love your energy and you are doing a really good thing for people that really need this right now. I commend you for doing this. Not too many people would ever go on a limb and be so vulnerable and truly honest. I don't know who would bring another person down, it is horrible to think about especially, when the are in or have recovered. This can happen to you, to anyone. Compassion, empathy, support and love is what people need. Anything else, move on and let it go. I want you to know that I am also supporting you. You should be very proud of yourself! Keep going girl! You got this!

Dear Tina, long time viewer. I might’ve commented on a video of yours before just don’t remember, but as the saying goes first time commenter. First I want to say thank you for sharing I’ve never been arrested and hope to never. But basically second thing, some context of why I’m here in your comments now. I stumbled across one of your videos on my shorts page in the past, and I thought it was relatable and I liked it and ever since then you’ve flooded my feed. And lastly I want to thank you. I’ve been having a rough last few years and this current year I’ve turned to drugs. I’ve always smoked the occasional weed. But recently it’s turned into harder and harder things. I’m back working in the restaurant industry serving tables after getting fired from a real nice and high paying job,, I had a rough last relationship involving an abortion and a lot of regrets on both sides. And I had a failed attempt. I’ve turned into a shallow hole of an existence. But your videos have helped me a lot and have made me want to get sober,, and be happy as me not doped up all the time. I’ve been putting a lot of work in setting aside all my money that would be for drugs into savings. I currently don’t have a bank account so most of it’s in cash from tips I get. I still have my rough days and I have turned back to drugs a few times now. I’ve considered rehab but always skip out on it. Seeing the cash still makes me tempted sometimes. But I have been making a lot of strives towards the good. And you’re all to thank for it. I still do have my bad days as I said. But I’m trying my best and one day as your videos say,, it will get better. Thank you for sharing your journey and thank you for being you. Sending all the love. ❤
