Panda pull sounds very interesting! Gonna try it later on. Could you share more tips for extension? I have always found it difficult and thought it might be causes by the lack of fast switch muscle. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more videos coming up! And it is very interesting to learn about Chinese weightlifting!

This video was super helpful, thank you, Gaby! I was trained in Russian-style weightlifting, and we have a similar exercise - a high snatch pull up to the chest or so, but no half squat at the end. Guess it has a difference purpose, but it may be interesting to compare these two.

I usually put the panda pull to the last section after I can't snatch heavy weight, use 80% ~100% PR to do the reps
@venus_weightlifting2 жыл бұрын
@@Dayum286 Yes it can serve as a great accessory exercise for experienced lifters. Beginners who are still trying to find that snatch rhythm can also practice the panda pull before going into the snatch.

Is there a risk of your chin hitting the bar?
@venus_weightlifting2 жыл бұрын
If the bar hits your chin, it's likely due to pulling the bar too high with your arms. Bar height when only rotating the shoulders correctly should be at around chest level

Panda pull is to snatch pull, as jerk is to push press.
