As someone who just bought a raw 40 acre parcel for $20,000 USD, the asking prices on some places absolutely boggle my mind. I put together a nice shipping container home on it for even less. To each their own, but it seems a crime for these cunts to charge so much even if it's got a nice house built. That's not worth more than $100,000k in materials and labor.

As far as I am concerned as tenant if you're paying rent for an office, you have a right to sleep in there if it's not specified term in the lease. As a landlord i try to encourage people make the most of the space that's being rented. One of my properties came with an extra long garage same length as one side of the house. My father was tasked with converting the back end into the studio apartment with small bathroom and kitchenette during the 80s. City ordainces says we couldn't rent it out individually. My grandparents spent 4 decades bundling it with the house rent. They didn't care if you wanted an extra roommate living in the garage, as long as no real laws were broken and you could afford to pay your rent ontime.

I was in the same situation back in 2008 . Sold my house and couldn't find anything either. I was a custom jeweler with an art gallery in Oregon. So I moved in the back with my border collie. I know the feeling hiding me and the dog in the middle of main street town lol. So when local police knocked on door at 11pm wondering what I was doing, I acted like I was working on a project. Did this and found it worked out for 5 years and saved a ton of money.👍so good job for you.

Most businesses in this condo complex had lofts over the office area with many of these lofts being apartments used by the owners. One was 2000 sq feet, but most were around 600 sq feet. If you have a dream, are young and can work 14 hours a day you need a place to sleep still, and the commute to work is just is 2 minutes. Of course the twp looked the other way.

Is it illegal to live in the mezzanine? I dont understand why you have to hide it?

Yea it’s like the way the property is zoned by the city. It’s probably an industrial zoning and not anything including residential.

Gotta do what you gotta do to live. You should write about your experiences an put them in a book. I know you do videography but it would make for a great book on living in a struggle.

There is nothing wrong with doing that. The problem is some people will exploit the "loophole." Hope you are past the statue of limitations, cause I could see some 3 letter task force come knocking retrospectively.

there is also commercial and residential insurance, land lord would be paying commercial and just having "worker" staying in the building could violate terms of service. At least that is what i was told when I stayed at my job for a few nights and my boss informed me of this before anything went further.

@Scybereye12 күн бұрын
@@robertwillis4061 Yeah no, I did stay at work and slept their because of abuse reasons. Fun fact, I was later arrested for domestic violence, and was found not guilty after court. My boss knew my situation and informed me before they where forced to let me go, because they didn't want to fire me, due to insurance reasons. Just keep assuming.
