I've yet to see a single person mention that the skeleton fused with a horse that throws the boomerang is absolutely a reference to the Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne, one of my favorite bosses.

If you pay attention to close up shots of the tree in the land of shadow, the top of it almost looks like roots digging into a cavern ceiling. Makes me think this place may actually be far below the erd tree, where the crucible resides. In the deeproot depths, the erd tree does start to get quite dark and lose all it's golden glow, and you can never quite see the bottom. After all, Hell is usually pretty far down underground in fiction.

There's another bodiless entity we might encounter along with Miquella, Melina, and Ranni. _Shabriri_ Also, I don't think Serosh was a Shadow like Blaidd and Maliketh. Firstly because Shadows were given to the Empyreans, and Godfrey wasn't one of those; and secondly, items that reference Serosh call him the "Lord of Beasts," an "aged counselor of the Golden Lineage," and the "Beast Regent." I think this implies that beyond just binding the bloodlust of Hoarah Loux, Serosh was actually the ruler of the Beastmen before Godfrey became Elden Lord and *allied* with him at some point during his conquests

SO glad that you *get* what makes the lore of FromSoft games so fun! At least, for me. The fact that we're akin to a mix between detectives and archeologists, delving into the history of these worlds and putting the pieces together, being able to speculate and form theories and discuss/debate potential paths these worlds/characters went down to get where they are - it's all SO COOL to me!

i still belive there might be a connection between Melina and Mesmer, the smoldering butterfly possibly shared to both, the same closed eye, something else i forgot now... They might even be the same person changing hair color and all considering Marika and Radagon doing the same it's not that far fetched right? Not having Melina's mother confirmed at least we have Mesmer's mother confirmed right? Also Melina only shows in her "spirit" form right?

i think what make Miquella so terrify is the concept of benevolent dictators. you can butter up a regular dictator because they are self-interested so appealing to what interests them allows you to somewhat direct them... but a dictator who rules for what they believe is the good of the people is far harder to sway. they do what they do out of a perceived necessity, out of the believe that this isnt what you want but what you NEED even if that leads them to abandon you or inflicting horrors upon you themselves they do it out of the good of their hearts and the morals of others can be irrelevant to their goals

i have a theory that messmers power manifesting as flame, his red hair, his unusual proportions, the yellow eyes, the snakes, and almost everything about him and what we know so far of his background and lineage, in my mind makes messmer the very embodiment of all the fears of the golden lineage. also, that creature at 54:08 HEAVILY reminds me of the humming spider head creatures in robes from bloodborne lol

Messmer probably can see the fact that the grace was removed from someone and makes them less even if their grace is returned, that could be why he questioned our role, why make someone Elden lord when you already stripped them of their grace, now that could be a thing but who knows

I'm on the board of the Shadow Lands is at the Ocean the center of the Divine Towers, Ratatoskr made a video about it, the things in 40:00 about Marika concealing and Mimic's Veil also known as Marika's Mischief allow the player to look like a nearby object, the Ocean is larger than Limgrave.

Red Dragon. I am a Thomas Harris fan as well. Never played any Souls games. I saw them as being non-rpgs more akin to combat games but I underestimated the lore and its complexity. My bad. After seeing the erd tree video I am tempted to try elden ring albeit a modded version. I don't have the patience to get constantly killed nor do I see myself as a fighting game player. Some might look down on this as cheating but that's their view not mine. I met George RR Martin many years ago back in the late 1970s at an sf convention in Nashville TN. Before he started writing game of thrones. So I am interested in his contribution to the elden ring. Anyway. I enjoyed your video.

in the comments of Vaatis's video i posited the idea that Messmer's father was either Radagon or more significantly a proto-Radagon. the idea was that Messmer is the first attempt at siring a demigod and the situation in the Land of Shadow was so abhorrent that Messmer had to stay and maintain/clean the plays as an eternal stuward while the history of that land, and him, were whipped clean of the world Marika would later lead. things like fire becoming a taboo, Rad's hate of his red hair and the general hate of giants among other things originate from the early history of the Land of Shadows and Messmer i also hypothesised that Messmer is also the reason Marika chose to find a Lord outside of Radagon to sire children while only yielded one success to which she tagged Rad in to make kids with her rival

The "wicker man" boss thing, I for some reason don't believe Marikas enemies are inside, maybe its just me, but don't you have to make a major sacrifice to gain great power, like to become a god, what did she have to do, the "wicker man" thing is filled with....Numen, her people are inside that thing, they were first then the other species were thrown in to keep the fire burning

vaatividya will still take the consideration of the maiden melina as a part of Radgon and Marika because of the name and the butterfly that has the decriotion of it as to be set a blaze but we never take the consideration of every time Marika and RAdgon go into the marriage and producing children only has threes Ranny Radan and Rykard morgot moguwin and godwin the golden malenia miquila and prehapes Messmeir by that logic and godrick got his father's rune i believe to be godwin the golden because no lord has a rune it is only for the children of the intity that holds the qualities of a vassle like Marika to her children even morgot and moguwn got that despite being omin the pink butterfly is going to be 100% for miquella ulter ego i how ever this might me 00000000.1% chance but i would say our maiden is part of Marika's spirit i mean we simply come in to become Elden Lord while her body simply does not give a respond rather it was RAdgon more than Marika she does not even flinch just drop down like a dead body who she should not be as being the vassile and still the eternal but maybe i am wrong as the finger reader in the table hold just assuming that marika being punished only while she is dead or just seperated her spirit while that does not make since for the maiden's other eye to be blue again new dlc new lore makes me want to scratch everything vaatie put forward and go from begining who knows maybe Elden ring give another dlc after this for the past i mean i would be dumb for asking for explination that cut short with direct "hey this is it" but hey i want more i need more my hunger for Elden ring never ends Edit| finished the video and lost hope for it
