The book is great, and I can definitely understand what the sentence is trying to say. Though I did come across some grammar mistakes. But that’s just it. Mistakes. The book is still great regardless. I can still understand them so that got to count for something… right? Hmm, well my only concern for these books are…. Why are they taking. After devouring yet savoring SVSSS at the same time, I broke down and made my way to the local B & N to pick up TGCF. I'll say I'm officially hooked on TGCF but SVSSS is still my number 1. What really made me want to applaud Seven Seas is that they changed the glossaries to be as specific as possible for each book! TGCF has all sorts of daoist terms and governmental stuff while SVSSS has your online nerd stuff and also some basics for Buddhism in addition to the Daoist elements as well.

I just got my copy of SVSSS 2 days ago and read it for the first time yesterday and let me tell you, I was hooked! I didn’t expect the story to be like that at all! I can’t wait for the second volume to come out! MXTX is really an incredible author

@@kuroiyuri186 MDZS and I don't get along at the novel level. i've watched the drama and the donghua and although I like the overall concept of MDZS, all of my attempts to read the novel result in me putting it down. I've realized that I just don't like WWX and LWJ. The miscommunication in SVSSS is played off for humor and eventually resolves itself but the miscommunication in MDZS has serious consequences. I have accepted that it will be the novel that just doesn't jive with me.

@@Karuchannie I read MDZS like a year ago when the 4th book came out and I started reading the Heaven Official's Blessing fan translation a few months ago and also bought the first book when it came out but seeing how amazing this version is I want it too! Like compared to this our version is so boring. Also may I just add that you're SO lucky that your girlfriend likes this stuff? I also have a gf and she didn't even watch The Untamed :"( I always tell her that she should read the books or watch The Untames or the Heaven Official's Blessing donghua but she always says no :(((( You're soooo luckyyyy.

@@nikolettbiro5614 I recently got into MDZS, I just read the books through autumn (in pdf, because I spend money on everything else xD) and I loved them, but I couldn't get myself to watch The Untamed, my attention span is not made for that xD. Also, my girlfriend is always interested in whatever I see or hear or watch, so it was easy to get her to watch them. She has watched both the donghua and live action for MDZS, read the manhua, she's halfway through the books now, and we're doing a couple cosplay shooting soon in Wangxian (ofc 2 layer of clothes under the robes because winter sucks xD) but I'm so excited about it, and all the photos we will take there! About TGCF, I only watched the donghua, and read the Manhua, but I'm so excited about the 2nd season! Also, trying to get my ass to finally start reading it, might as well start it in winter break

Even in the web serialization, the footnotes came at the end of the chapter and I was never patient enough to scroll back and forth between them, so I'd only read them after the chapter! Having actual footnotes at the bottom of each page makes such a huge difference in the reading experience. I feel like these editions are perfectly designed to be accessible to new fans which is really exciting. Also I LOVE the blurb on the back. I feel like it's a much more accurate representation of the story than say....the Netflix description. xD

Ah, same. I actually ordered all 3 books and they were supposed to arrive before the 20th. I got the first 2, but TGCF never showed up despite its tracker saying it got delivered. Long story short, Purolator lost my package and their still looking for it and I'll be surprised if I get it before January.

I want to add my own thoughts about Xie Lian's name. 謝 has meanings like "no, thanks" “refuse” “decline”. So add the words together, you will get 謝憐 means "dont feel pitty of me" →"I dont need sympathy'". And I want to make a supplement on San Lang's name too. 三郎, me as a Chinese speaker, I guess MXTX means "拼命三郎", which means eager beaver (especially when you read more you will know what I'm talking about🥺). Yeah, San Lang did his best, gave his best to support his DEITY! Hope I offered something new.

Hello! I’ve recently just watched the animated show of these books and I’ve always wanted to read them, but I’m not sure if I’ll get too confused especially with the diffrent names for all of them and certain Chinese words. I think there’s also a comic version if I’ve heard right but I know the novel would be more detailed for obvious reasons. So if anyone could give there opinion, was it hard to pick up and be able to create scenes in your head as I’m just so used to more graphic novel type books when it comes to Chinese or Japanese novels :)

I read the entire Mo Dao Zu Shi in 2019 with no problems at all, but I really struggled on this novel. I am reading the Scum Villain's Self Saving System right now and it is good (I have watched the donghua so that helps).

This is the most detailed video of this book I've seen and I got all the info I needed to decide to finally buy it. Thanks for mentioning the contents from the online version included! (They didn't cut it into 5 books as the original, but 8 instead, so I've been wondering if the cuts made weren't too awkward.) I initially was hesitating because I don't like the cover title's gold font (I prefer the black chinese characters coz it looks minimalistic against the beautiful art as backdrop but the gold font looks too squiggly and off). Also the spine contains too much text I find it hard to appreciate it sitting on my shelf (The 'tian guan ci fu' could have been removed on the spine or something coz it's already on the cover). BUT, other than the cover the contents are AMAZING. I love the whole bridal sedan art, the footnotes, the detailed TOC and the glossary! 🥰

This novel is my first time hearing of the series, I saw it setting on a table at the book store (with Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System) and didn't buy it. Then bought the Kindel version then felt sad... and went back to the book store 3 days later to buy it! I got the same reacting from the cashier when I bought Heaven Offical's Blessing from Boooks-A-Million! I'm kind of glad the novel introduction to the series and I did think San Lang was on the cover....
