If you just want to do a few, you can also put your cuttings in a cup of water in a sunny window.

Yep you can do lots of plants that way. I propagate all my bushes, roses etc... some I use a rooting compound but works great.

Fyi that our NFT channels fill with roots as week and the water starts leaking. We have had success with taking off the lid, laying it (and plants) on their side, and cutting off about 1" of the roots on either side, then putting back together and putting back in system. It doesnt seem to harm the plants.

Love your vids! When I saw what you were doing, I assumed that you would use a rooting compound on the cut end of the basil. I don;t know if that would have helped, but I will be interested to see what your rooting success looks like.

It works great for basil. I do use rooting compound when I propagate bushes, roses ect...

Dang, that was an impressive root blockage! You're right about basil, not many people like varieties other than the 'normal' Genevese or sweet. Tried growing purple and thai before but it was just a waste of time the family didn't like them as much.

Hi Joe!, I have been thinking about hydroponics since I first saw it at Epco Center in Florida back in the 80"s I did start small in containers years ago just fooling around. Very easy to get going and be successful on a small scale. Go for it!!
