Imagine scientists at NHK in Japan working on 8k Super Hi-Vision (as it was called then) in 1995, to only fast forward to today, where western governments are still dragging their feet with HDTV. Japan has had mandated 8k channels for years. We make do with a couple of 4k channels (mostly upscaled content) and the rest in 1080p/i. A joke.

2:00 Absolutely not. TVs should stick to display tech. Modern history has taught us that connecting your TV to the Internet is a gigantic mistake.

It might be distracting for drivers to have all that going on on the screen. And as far as I know these displays are not completely glass clear transparent. There is a certain amount of blur/dimmness in the screen, due to micro led's.

1:18 this statement is a bit off, since you didn't have to hide any of that behind the tv if you owned a frame tv. what was the whole point.

TV's are so boring in 2025 that art frames, garbage AI features and anti glare panels are the features. Can't wait for another price drop. WOW imagine a mirror that advertises to you and you can watch youtube. Almost like watching youtube while looking at yourself. Incredible!

I remember seeing "see-through displays" in futuristic movies and aside from the benefit of being able to shoot the actor from behind their monitor and still see the person on the other side and what they're seeing...I thought it was absurd. It's like adding a distracting, anti-privacy feature no one would ever want. But now they are making it!! ;D

I pray and hope that Samsung has worked on their quality control this year. And their motion, processing, and upscaling as well! I recently purchased a 77 inch S95C last month and I have to return it because of non stop black out screens while gaming on my PS5 at 4K 120 with audio and eArc issues. Had to book a return/ refund.

There should be a button where if you push it the display has a matte finish and when you turn it off it turns back to a glossy finish. I can't stand matte finish, especially on gaming monitors.

tv industry stopped innovations 5 years ago. There are subtle changes in interfaces , subtle changes in picture quality but in fact there is no innovations. Real innovations. Tv channels dying in favour of streaming. Nothing can change it. btw we don't even need tv channels in 4 k or 8 k. You tube has limitations in stream quality. Pay services too. We don't need anything above 4k because even 4k is not real 4k in streaming. Maybe if you have 4k HDR camera or 4k HDR drone and you are enthusiast , you use new tv capabilities. Of course until you have own server at home because in the moment you upload your content on YT you can throw your 4/8k devices to the basket

Samsung tv’s are the worst. I got one and after 3-4 years the os has never been updated. In addition, there’s loads of software issues with it. My soundbar no longer, suddenly doesn’t work with my tv. Tv freezes and crashes and bugs out.
