I accidentally tripped on dph after drinking because it was cold, I had a runny nose, and I didn’t read the label on the bottle since I never thought much of allergy pills. My vision became yellow tinted and there were centipedes and spiders everywhere in my room. Everything started to sound distorted and it literally felt like I was in hell. Probably one of the scariest experiences in my entire life.

lmfao ive done that on accident as well. i drank a whole big bottle of zzzquil (diphenhydramine, literally just liquid benadryl that tastes like nyquil) and the same shit happened to me. weird thing is, though, the insects didnt really scare me. i managed to keep my grip on reality and after smacking one of the spiders that crawled up my arm, my hand went right through it. it was at that moment i knew i was just tripping and somehow ended up more fascinated than horrified. i also hallucinated half of the people i went to high school with, in my bedroom. had full on conversations with people i never talked to, and somehow my twacked out subconcious produced a perfect image of these people despite never talking to them. i then saw my stepdad beat one if my friends up so i went to the laundry room to get a towel to “clean up the blood”, then proceeded to use that towel as a pillow despite the fact i had like 3 on my bed. very strange experience indeed.

I also have insomnia, and my doctor has told me that Benadryl is ok to use on a limited basis, but should not be taken every night. IIRC, anticholinergic drugs work by decreasing your cognitive function, which is good in the short term to promote sleep, but over time can cause more persistent cognitive impairment. Memory loss seems to be an issue with long-term use of most sleep-promoting substances, but some are worse than others. I use high doses of cannabis. It's expensive, but for me it has the strongest effect with the least amount of side effects.

I almost forgot about this brief period of my life. I used to describe this type of trip as "Dreaming With Your Eyes Open". Although the trip was sometimes far more intense than LSD, there was NEVER any sort of Euphoria or sensations of "Enlightenment". It was empty, colorless, and void of all emotion or intellect at all. The girl who got me into it would often refer to "waking up", referring to the successive times that one would seem to "wake up" from whatever dream you may have just been in. But this waking up was not like coming out of a trip. It was only transitioning from one dream-scape to the next. One consistent experience that we both had, which was not mentioned in the video was the ability to see through solid objects, and "Dream Sharing" between others that you may be tripping with. I only did it with one other person than her, and that friend said that he never wanted to ever do it again. I don't think that we had a "bad" trip. But it was a very confusing day for both of us, and it felt like getting stuck in a never-ending dreary day. I think that was the last time that I did it as well. I honestly don't know how someone could actually "enjoy" doing it. The first time I did it I was also on LSD. That was how I met this girl (at a Grateful Dead concert). She just walked up to me and asked if I wanted to trip. I was already tripping on Acid, so it seemed like a perfectly logical thing to do (plus, she was cute). But then she handed me six pills. I didn't know that Acid came in pills (because that's what I thought she meant), but I took them without asking any questions anyway. We then got "stuck" in the bathroom of a 24-hour chicken & waffles restaurant, just staring at the spiders coming out of the filth in-between the tiles of the bathroom walls. I really have no idea how long we were in there, or how we got out. I guess the addition of the LSD and being with this girl made that trip less "dreary" and emotionless than a "normal" DPH trip. But the few times I did it after that, was not really enjoyable at all. At best, it was merely interesting. But for that entire period that I was with that girl doing DPH, it seemed like the sun never came out, and it was always cold & wet. Like being in that movie "River's Edge". I do not recommend it to anyone. (Although I know saying something like that can create intrigue - it seriously is like stepping into a freakin' horror movie. There are far better ways to trip.)

I was like "Whoa! Do you see that!?", and she perfectly described the pattern that she and I could both see THROUGH the jeans. And the pattern moved as I moved the material, so it wasn't something I was seeing in my vision OVER the jeans, it was literally the pattern underneath. She then asked me what her shirt said under her sweater, and I was able to see the design and read the shirt even though I hadn't seen it yet. Another time, when I was driving her car through the mountains of Tennessee, she was nodded out on DPH in the front passenger seat, and started mumbling something like, "No, you can't do that!" I asked what she meant. She said, "You can't drive through the middle of the Taco Bell"... I kinda laughed cuz I thought she was just dreaming something. Almost immediately after that, I drove around a bend in the road through the mountains, and there, just off the highway, was a Taco Bell. And the way the road was shaped, the exit was directly in front of us, and if I had just driven straight, instead of following the curve of the road, I would have driven straight through the middle of the Taco Bell... Very Weird Indeed.

In East Europe, as a result of cheap chemical plants located in Asia, (mostly China) There is a huge amount of 'research chemicals' floating around. Especially of the NBOMe type. 25I-NBOMe, 25B-NBOMe, and 25C-NBOMe. NBOMe compounds are ultrapotent and highly efficacious agonists of serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors, you'll be tripping HARD and compared to LSD it's a very very similar experience, but doesn't feel as clean. Worse, though, are psychedelic amphetamines like DOB. Dimethoxybromoamphetamine was the worst experience i have ever had in my entire life, and if I were some sick fvkc who tortured people, it would be my weapon of choice. MYSELF and everyone i have ever seen take DOB has gone into severe and lasting psychosis, and when i say lasting i mean months. I couldn't use my brain at it's full capacity for at minimum 3 months, but it feels more like 8, now that its so long ago... All this to say, I have met and known many of your empty epiphany false prophets. The last one I allowed to know me, he ended up drinking anti-freeze in a fit of drug educed psychosis. [Educed not induced because he was prone to psychosis anyway.] Did not die, but was in fact, a terrible person on or off drugs... Can't help but wonder what his personality could've been without all the amphetamines he did. I never saw crystal methamphetamine before meeting Josh. Luckily, nobody in my life now brings any of that shit around me, ive always hated amps and the way they made people act. I still practice chemistrie though!

Shadow people and Hatman can show up when functioning on very little sleep for extended periods of time. I saw plenty when I was pulling 75-80 hour weeks at Coca-Cola, and that was Mon-Fri I got weekends off. Shadow people are a really weird thing to see, once you see one you suddenly start seeing more. And when you make it obvious you've seen/noticed them, they suddenly start to notice you too. Feeling them stare at you is so creepy too. Hatman was weird for me though. Always saw him at a distance and only ever outside. Usually just sent a shiver up my spine (definitely up my spine and not down) but sometimes filled me with dread making me stay inside and away from the windows. I don't smoke, drink or do any sorta drugs. Sleep deprivation is not recommended, and anything that causes hallucinations is usually a bad idea. Don't go looking for Shadow people. Make for cool stories but it's so disturbing actually seeing them, and my experience they are not friendly

I use to take DXM when I was 14-15 years old. Me and a friend did it almost every day for a few months and watch the movie Constantine. Thats until another kid came over and wanted to take them with us and overdosed and went into a seizure. We all 3 ended up in the hospital because when my friends mom was driving him home she began yelling at him and the anxiety of what happened plus his mom yelling made him think he was having a heart attack. I guess he told them I had taken them too because when my parents and I was in bed cops showed up and forced me to go to the hospital where they lied to try to scare me. They told me the kid who had the seizure might not make it that my friend was going into heart surgery and I was going to most likely have a seizure as well. I knew both me and my friend would be fine because I took 8 and he took 10 and we both ate 16 each the previous night. I quit doing it after all that and the few times I've tried doing it since it just made me feel like crap! It use to be kinda like a speedy trippy feeling but I would just get sleepy and feel sick when I tried it again a few years later. I had some amazing experiences on DXM that nothing I've ever tried since came close to it. I have wanted to feel that way again for a very long time but I know there is no point in trying it, I've tried I think like 4 times and just felt crappy every time. Even if I take it as directed I end up feeling sick, I think my body just has a bad reaction to it after doing it too much. I had something very similar happen with alcohol, anytime I try to drink after a half a beer or a shot I'll get sour stomach, hot flashes and a headache.

I used to trip on DPH a lot when I was younger. I’d take 2 boxes of 20 50mg pills and towards the end my body would start retching as soon as I put the first pills in my mouth, it was like my body was begging me not to do it again. I remember that the first symptom before the full hallucinations would kick in was seeing these jelly spiders all over the walls. Then the invisible people would turn up, but by that point the dissociation was so bad I didn’t know I’d taken anything or that I was tripping or who I was. It was always a distinctly unpleasant experience, a very ‘dirty’ high. I was a smoker, and I would often have ‘ghost cigarettes’ appear in my hands - they weren’t real, but I could see them, then I would think I’d dropped them and panic that I was going to burn the house down. My legs would also tend to go numb and take on a blue tinge; I’ve now heard about a lot of people who have died due to their hearts giving out under the influence or shortly after; I guess it’s really hard on your heart, which makes a lot of sense and lines up with the symptoms I experienced. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it, even if you’re someone who likes hallucinogenic substances. If you’re just looking to get high, seek out weed. Honestly I think no drug is worth it, but if you’re determined, then that is a far better option. If you can get a clean supply, almost any of your ‘classic’ safer drugs would be a better option; pot, x, murhrooms, acid. DPH isn’t safe, it isn’t pleasant, it isn’t fun, it isn’t an eye-opening or spiritual experience. Because it’s a dissociative deliriant, many people have wound up in the hospital, after worrying family and friends and being fully incapable of saying that they’d taken such-and-such, and completely impossible to calm down. Sometimes they’d get violent or just do stuff that was dangerous.

43 minute mark; this is true, this is what it’s like, I’ve never heard it described from someone else. One thing missing is what I call “the mumble”; the apparitions you see are indistinguishable from actual people, and when you speak to them in a normal tone your voice roars in your own ears (this didn’t happen with real people I spoke to). I was diagnosed as full blown paranoid schizophrenic for a full three days, I’ve experienced LSD and shrooms after this incident and they are laughable in comparison, like comparing SpongeBob to Saving Private Ryan. The worst part is, it happened to me unintentionally, as I was still a kid and had no idea what to expect and I didn’t even know what a high was. If you’re one of these “edgy” kids who think that talking about this stuff like it’s going to earn scene points or make you intriguing, you are wrong; where I went for three days is something I wouldn’t even wish on a war criminal or even Vlad Tepes himself. Chubbyemu has at least one video recounting the effects of dph overdose on the body. He also has a video on dextromethorphan, which was mentioned as well. Though benadryl is not meant to be used as a sleeping aid, years ago my dad's primary care doctor repeatedly suggested he use it for such, assuring us it was safe, and my family had to deal with my dad developing a minor dependence on it. This was incredibly frustrating as my dad had dementia and was a kidney transplant recipient, so he was in no position to be experiencing any further confusion from its drowsy effects, or potentially toxic doses of anything. My dad was also prescribed amitriptyline by this doctor for his mood. Both benadryl and amitriptyline are anticholinergics that are associated to increased dementia risk and activity! They were actively making his brain function worse. We were able to fix the dependency by having his medication reviewed and adjusted with a pharmacist and his transplant team, which helped some with his sleep patterns as well, but I still hold a grudge against that doctor for contributing to my dad's decline.

As a recovering H addict, I wish you the best. It's a fucked up road to go down, and I feel legitimately lucky to have survived it. 4 months clean from H, quitting was the best thing I ever did for myself. Still have cravings, it's no cake walk but all I need to do is think about when I would be sitting there covered In blood cursing and screaming and tears run down my face, snot running down from my nose shivering because I can't hit a vein... That is usually enough to end my cravings... Talk to a doctor about Sublocade it's a life saver its what saved me. It's an injection once every 30 days that's pretty much like extended release Suboxone, makes it so u can't use, and gets rid of withdrawals. It hurts a bit cause they inject it into your belly but it's 1000% worth it, if you ever feel serious about getting off the shit I recommend trying Sublocade. Good luck

I had a ton of experience with these and it's a pretty dirty drug. You get extremely sick before anything kicks in, roll of the dice as to what happens next. I was kinda lucky to only have a few minor incidents, its no surprise people get hurt since you're entirely out of it and don't feel pain. It's been many years, but I remember thinking I was in a party boat lounge room when really I was lost on the staircase. One time I was in the rainforest except it was my friends closet. While binging wilfred seasons 1-3 I began thinking my entire life was just a dark comedy reality TV show and the directors were about to show themselves like Truman show. I was devastated to realize my life was in fact NOT an elaborate joke. Somehow always picked both the worst and best movies, like Enter the void, the conspiracy theorist and John dies at the end. I mostly like to talk about all the dumb and funny stuff from my past, but those were dark times and I could've ended up in a bad spot. Anyone thinking of doing this stuff needs help, prob have some deep issues going on.

I still have hallucinations 2 years later and I feel my mind has been irreversibly altered. Don't do it for fun people, it felt like I was being dragged down to hell while being watched by a million eyes. The shadows moved and I swore I heard people running around outside of my room, I couldn't sleep despite feeling extremely exhausted. That was only from 4 pills. I can't begin to imagine doing actual high doses of allergy meds. I DON'T recommend. I was able to tame it a bit thru downing 2 or 3 glasses of water.

Besides the most uncomfortable body load on both, I had a full 30 minute conversation with my friend and gf at the time that never actually happened and she wasn't even there. Saw giant spiders, cats when I didn't have a cat, and kept getting jumpscared by nothing at all. Once my chest started hurting and my heart started racing I panicked and went home to sleep it off. I’m not a druggie nor some Creepypasta bro, but I’ve had to stop using Benadryl when i have allergies in late summer because I would have really vivid and sometimes nightmarish dreams. Some were silly like it being 90 degrees in reality but i was dreaming I was playing Fallout New Vegas in a Blizzard, but there was one that kept me up all night Afterwards. There was a girl i was aware of in Highschool, a floozy, always in trouble, trailer trash. I knew she existed but l mainly kept to myself in school because I hated the cliques. Anyway, a decade later, i took some allergy meds after my allergies started getting really bad. That night, I had a dream where this girl found me at my house and was knocking at my door. I open it, confused as to what was going on, and get broadsided by a baseless and false accusation of sexual misconduct from a highschool party i never attended. I deny it, but before i can shut the door, I get ambushed by a film crew from a True Crime tv show who essentially shove their way into my house. That was a bizarre trip. Hope it never happens again.

I took benadryl to help sleep one night, then the next morning, I had an unknown allergic reaction (weird bumps and hives on my legs and arms). I took another dose after breakfast, and it sent me to the hospital. My limbs were very shaky. I was scared because I thought I was going to have an epileptic seizure - something that I've never experienced. My thoughts were also muddied and dark. Some were suicidal, some were about me running away out of the emergency room, and some were borderline psychotic. It also sounded like I heard static in the background the while time. After I woke up from this state, I kept this secret to myself. After that, I've never touched benadryl again. This was back in fall of 2023.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and I am also a registered nurse. I acknowledge and respect your academic achievements, but I must point out that your comment could be interpreted as a scare tactic. It is crucial to understand that Benadryl, like any other over-the-counter or prescribed medication, may not be suitable for everyone and can potentially cause severe side effects if consumed in excessive amounts or over a prolonged period of time. Providing a mere suggestion to completely avoid a certain course of action does not seem to be appropriate medical guidance in my opinion. It is important to consider that individuals may interpret this advice differently, especially when it comes from a psychologist who emphasizes their plea for others to refrain from pursuing such a path. However, this plea lacks sufficient explanation in terms that can be comprehended by individuals who are not medical professionals. It is worth mentioning that the effects of Benedryl, like any other medication, can vary from person to person. While some individuals may have negative experiences with regular doses of Benedryl, it is essential to address these issues properly. Unfortunately, seeking answers on the internet may expose you to scare tactics that can potentially have a greater impact on your mental well-being than the actual drug itself. Remember, what works for one person may not work for another. If you frequently or severely experience episodes of sleep paralysis, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional rather than relying on information from Google or KZbin videos where someone may share similar symptoms but does not have the same body and brain wiring.If an individual is experiencing sleep deprivation and resorts to searching on Google or watching KZbin videos about their symptoms, they may unknowingly expose themselves to a frightening outcome due to the influence of a few misleading sources.

“Mom, I want to get the Screwtape Letters.” “We have screwtape letters at home.” Screwtape letters at home: that cringe Hatman story
@skyeparker13336 ай бұрын
The eerie similarity between The Screwtape Letters and the Hatman story make me think that the Hatman is probably an actual Biblical demon that people are able to perceive when in the dangerously suggestible altered mind state of heavy delirium brought on by tripping on DPH. Like the drug is a sneak-peek preview into Actual Hell and the Hatman is literally Satan incarnate (or a lesser demon) in the way it seems to not be able to touch or control you physically but only watch you menacingly, but can also mess with you in many other unknown scary hellish psychological ways through the nightmarish hallucinations. Like where acid and mushrooms can by very spiritually religious experiences that many people say is like witnessing God, DPH is the opposite side of the coin where many people could say it was like witnessing Satan. Idk, this is just speculation. But it's videos like these that make me viscerally feel in my soul that I need to stay away from DPH because it feels against God. I pray that myself you all would would learn from the nightmare description of this video and never try DPH in the first place. But I understand there will be a number of people that are intrigued by this video and will unfortunately end up having to learn that lesson the hard way, and I pray that they would learn it quick without tragic levels of literal brainrot by spiritual demons. Stay safe and trust in Jesus Christ and soon your soul will feel the light of God and you will not be tempted by demonic drugs like DPH. God bless!

I am 15 years old and I have no intent of using Benadryl or any other serious drugs of that sort. I enjoy watching these videos to really take in on how serious these addictions can get further increasing my fear, therefore keeping me away from these terrible drugs. It’s sad to hear about these addictions and all of the lives that have been taken by such a drug. If anyone is struggling with addiction, I hope you find help before it’s too late. There is much more to live for in life than just drugs.

3:18 I've had extreme insomnia for well over a decade. I've taken 8 25 mg tablets of Benadryl to try and sleep. It put me down but it didn't last. Now if i take it i get odd sensations in my joints and muscles that are very unpleasant.

Watched this because I've been taking Benadryl for this annoying itch in one spot of my throat this past week and my bf told me some ppl use it to get high. I smoke pot and have experimented with a couple of drugs before but after watching this and finding out about possible long term effects I decided I'll just continue taking the appropriate dose only as needed, I don't feel like having any crazy trips, my life is crazy enough already. lol

Oh men, you don’t know how your video helped me, I’ve been experiencing similar side effects this year (I have been using it for 6 months for depression by medical prescription), but now I understand a lot of things. I thought that it was the cannabis, but now seeing that my pills are 100mg and I had to take 2 some days, mixed with cannabis, some nights were terrific, and also I considered the idea that I had brain damage or something, but your iceberg was perfectly explained, you got a new subscriber 🙌🏻

In large enough doses, DPH can block organophosphates from binding and flush them from your system. This means most nerve agents are less or not effective at all. You will probably die from overdose, but not the nerve agent.

this is super nitpicky but why are you acting like Benadryl is not marketed as a sleep aid? It's literally sold as a sleep aid called Nytol and has been sold this way for several decades. taking it for sleep is one of the intended uses of diphenhydramine.

FACastello is really a unique person in the DPH community. You didnt pay him nearly enough service in the iceberg. He wrote a book about DPH and it its basically the lore behind the creation of the subreddit. Its full with stories, poems snippets out of the life of his regular use of dph. Its a good introduction to why people use this drug recreationally. Hope hell release a vol 2 soon

I witnessed my friend overdosed on benadryl, but i didnt now it at the time. I never had seen an overdose first hand, so i just thought they were having a psychotic break or just a really bad panic attack. They later apologized for putting me through that and talked about it a little. He said that he was freezing cold, and that it felt like bugs were crawling all over their skin. They also said that i had a third eye and was all misty.

on my overdose i started having a seizure which i banged my head on the wall alerting my parents and then they like "woke me up" and i was fine and talking to them and stuff and then they let me fall back asleep and i had another seizure. It's been 13 years since I've taken DPH, did my research what I could back in 2010, everything was zooming in and out and cracks in the floor looked like they were infested with termites, relatively speaking a decent trip, I ended up taking 20 pills as a so called "going big or go home" moment, welp after I fought the sleep I felt like I was floating, my body felt like I was 200 feet tall, brain was slowed down so much. What made me stop was the involuntary muscle spasms I'd get when I'd be done tripping. I couldn't get to sleep, I threw away the rest of the bottle and never went back. It's a hell of a drug but not worth it. I don't regret taking it though.

I'm not an expert on this, but I think that the "Eh, this drug sucks" comes from the fact that most DPH users actively dislike taking it, and are pretty open about not enjoying it, but still take it anyways due to being addicted. Then again, I'm not the brightest bulb, nor too active in the community, so who knows?
@trala89119 ай бұрын
Yeah, either addicted or just desperate to escape reality. I used to take it quite a lot, and never once enjoyed it. I kept taking it because I hated my life, and even a waking nightmare was preferable. I wouldn’t have recommended it to anyone, then or now, as I was under no delusions that it was a good time. But then I would be gripped by the desperation of not wanting to spend another night as myself, and literally anything felt preferable.

When we take it because of our addiction its because it has similar affects to low quality marijuana. It gives you the body tingles and warmth and also relaxes you, but it dehydrates you so bad that it can cause horrible kidney and liver problems.

The insect hallucinations mentioned are just like a nightmare i had when i was very very young, probably before i even began schooling. I kept waking up inside the dream only for the insects to become worse. First it was a spider in my bed, then I "woke up". Then it was spiders and centipedes all over the floor, crawling up toward me. I "woke up" again, after trying to scream. Then they were not just on the floor, also on the bed, and falling from the ceiling onto me. I "woke up" again. Seemed normal, finally. Went to tell my parents, but they werent home. No one was home. When i came back from checking the backyard, there were robots in the house, firing upon me, hitting me in the chest. I cursed and ran back to my room and finally WOKE UP for good. Tattooed on my brain💀

1:55 The active ingredient in Unisom (sleep aid) is either DPH or Doxylamine (both antihistamine/deliriant) if someone takes "benadryl" to fall asleep, its probably because generic benadryl is cheaper per pill than generic Unisom in many cases even though they are the exact same thing.

Once I accidentally took 100mg on an empty stomach, and I’m a complete lightweight with any drugs and I’m not a regular user of anything(just coffee). I usually only take 1 or 2 pills for a runny nose, but on that particular day, I forgot that I had already taken 50mg and took 2 more pills. It was so scary. My hallucinations were of ghosts standing above me next to my bed, and when I was finally starting to fall asleep, I heard birds chirping at 12am. Never again.

I have a Benadryl addiction. I take 2 every night before I go to bed when I hit my dab pen. It gets me fucked up but the scary part is that its slowly killing you when you take it regularly. It starts out as really bad dehydration, then slowly turning from urine retention, kidney aches, kidney stones, liver problems and eventually memory loss and kidney failure. Benadryl will kill you if you dont read the label. Im trying to stop but its hard. Dont take Benadryl for more than 4 days straight. Dont take more than 2 pills in one day. Trust me. Its scarier than being addicted to coke and xanx, because its so easy to get and since its OTC its considered "safe", which it really isnt. If you dont want dementia and kidney problems later in life, stop taking it altogether.
@marymartin87639 ай бұрын
You’re addicted but you only take 2 pills per night (the recommended dose)? You can take 2 every 4-6 hours safely, you don’t have a problem you just want people to look at you as an addict, which is quite odd… I’m just going to go ahead and assume you’re very young. There’s not an addict in this world who only takes the recommended dose once a day.
