My favorite thing about the app is that I can scan food items and it will give me cooking instructions! Love love love it!

I work with people who are blind and visually impaired. I love seeing the new updates for the app and while showing them to my clients today they all loved it as well! As far as the light sensor, a great way to use it would be for those folks who have no light perception to know if a light is on or off when company is over. Frequently when I am with clients I find my self asking them to please turn on the light or where I can find the switch. Since they don't tend to use the light they don't always know if it's on or off.

The light identifier would be very useful to my friends. They’re completely blind, but their sweet baby boy is fully sighted. When I visit, they ask me if the lights are on, as their son isn’t quite old enough yet to tell his mom and dad. As they both own iPhones, I told them about the app.

Hi, Sam! I am a senior with AMD who has lost a tremendous amount of vision (One eye permanently blinded, legally blind in the other, and glaucoma may take it all) and will soon lose it all. I love what you have taught me, but I have to tell you that because I am also hearing impaired the music in the background is driving me crazy. I stopped watching TV totally because of musical accompaniment behind dialogue. I have very expensive hearing aids but they don’t separate music from dialogue well. It is extremely distracting and nerve-wracking. Please rethink adding the music track? Thank you for understanding.

Do they have that app for Android?
@adamguymon70963 жыл бұрын
The sad thing about seeing ai is that the "barcode" feature doesn't even work? I tried on my Android phone and it didn't even read one and I tried a nice good amount of them? I tried to turn the flashlight on and hold the barcode in bright light and it is worthless? The other features that you just demonstrated are cool.

I love seeing AI. I got it a couple of years ago. And I use just about every feature on there. The lighting one is cool because then let me know if I have light on or off in the house. Even though I do not use any light because I do not have no vision anymore. But that is cool pants down number one I got it on my phone when it first came out and had it even when they updated it. I am so I am so glad you have it on your iPad. You can also download it to your iPhone also. If you want. Question are you going to demonstrate tap tap C? And demonstrate be my eye? For those who do not know about them. Because I also have both of them download it for free on my iPhone. And I use them both also I downloaded them as soon as they came out awesome.

Hello Sam We already can download this App in Spain. I´ve been trying it today and it´s really impressive, probably the beginning of something bigger that will arrive in the future! My question is if Do you know if Microsoft is going to release the app for other languages? It would be really useful for millions of people if the AI could understand and speak some languages like spanish, french or chinese. The app speaks very clear english but a terrific spanish lol
@theblindlife7 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don’t know if they’re bringing out more languages in the future. The fact that they just released in a bunch of new countries makes me hopeful that they will
@Vlado_Gudelj7 жыл бұрын
I hope so! That would be great because my grandma can´t speak english :( And by the way thank you very much for your channel. You are doing an awesome job!. I think many people with low vision feel lost like in a state of "limbo". The ophthalmologist tells you that his job is finished and nothing else can be done but at the same time it seems they are not "blind enough" to go to the ONCE, the spanish foundation that provides social services for the blind.

@@Vlado_Gudelj I have written an email to Microsoft asking also for Spanish. I would encourage all Spanish speakers to write them! Saludos desde España. Thanks for to Blind life for this awesome channel!

Rushank Parvate nope, still not available for Android yet. I talked about it in the video but had to cut it out because of time but I think they're only releasing it to IOS as a test. They want to see how well it works before they bring it to their hololens device. That's just a rumor going around but that means they'll never release it on Android. Bummer.

Number one I would recommend of course to make sure your spelling it correctly. Most likely the problem is that if you were searching on an iPad, it’s not technically supported. Up at the top left you can switch from iPad only search to iPhone. Then you’ll find it. That’s what I had to do for my iPad although it works perfectly fine.
