The PS2 version that is black with silver accents and green joystick handle and buttons almost looked like if Sega released the Virtua Stick V2 in the US to match the American Saturn console colors....
@richardgmiami4 жыл бұрын
As an owner of two of the American versions of the Virtua Stick, I can confirm that the joystick is super mushy and has no micro switches. Back when I bought them, I got the two with a pc adapter for like $60 altogether. So really no regrets at that price point. Also, if you're into using various console sticks and adapters on PC, you should totally get JoyToKey (joytokey.net/en/). You can map the stick inputs to the keyboard which is good for some games that won't recognize the stick as-is #notsponsored. Also, awesome intro. I subbed just for that.

Got the Playstation 2 Virtua Stick, Modded it with a fight board, I found that 16mm was a clean install in the Start, Select & Turbo. (Which I made Home.) Is there a way to buy new PCB for the Joystick? Also I was thinking about adding Styrene to my Saturn stick overlay. Going to experiment with that, also going to polish and Sand the stick so it feels smoother to the touch.

Thanks Joel for info ! I plan also to mod it with UFB. You can order an LS-56-01 and replace the PCB, microswitch.

I'm working on a pair of refits - imgur.com/gallery/8dusclP I really love this layout. Somehow Sega made a layout that works for: - Mortal Kombat 3+ (run button!) - Guilty Gear (5 buttons across the bottom!) - Literally every 3/4/6-button fighter

Nice work! And using a twin-stick body...so boss. That looks awesome!!!
@mukiex44134 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanthompson4296 Thanks so much! My next plan on the LED model is to: - Clean up that 100Yen sticker (Literally printed that one out and quickly taped it over the no-longer-in-use turbo switches) - Add an adafruit powerboost 1000 'n a second battery so the USB cable doesn't need to be plugged in for the lights - White antennas for the bluetooth, which should match the body better. Your video is 100% the inspiration for me gettin' this one. The actual Twin Sticks are hopefully going into a nice custom box that will be compatible with the latest PS4 V-On title (and all the older ones) edit: the top panels look like they use the "universal mounting bracket" you mentioned in the Hori Real Arcade Pro video! I didn't realize what that was 'til I saw it in your vid! 2nd edit: I wish I could buy HSS bodies. ^o^

To get to the joystick, you just need to pierce the art around the screws and then the LS-56 should be a drop in mod as long as you remove the mounting plate.

Hey man, do you remember what grit sand paper you used for the Virtua stick? I looks really good with the clear coat over it.
@ScanlineCity5 жыл бұрын
I would use three grit levels. Basically something super rough to get all the gunk off. Something in the middle to make a bit smoother and then something super fine to make it nice and smooth before you apply a clear coat. Very important to apply a clear coat so that it does not absorb your hand oils.

I never got the love for this stick. With the odd layout and finishing work that potentially needs done it just seems easier to either buy a Hori stick or build your own with whatever buttons, stick and artwork you want. I get that owning the original thing itself it pretty cool for collectors, but for actually playing games on anything but the Saturn it seems needlessly awkward.
