SEMA 2019 Jeep Gladiator Truck JL Wrangler Products Accessories DAY 3 Rugged Ridge Cargo Glide

Continuing our coverage of all things Jeep JT Gladiator trucks and JL Wranglers at the 2019 SEMA Show, Cindy and I made our way back into the Off Road hall and to check out the plethora of products that Rugged Ridge is bringing to market. This would include their all new replacement fenders for the JL Wrangler that not only sit a bit taller than what you'd find on a Rubicon but also come with built in high clearance DRL's. Of course, the original DRL lights that they came out with last year for factory trimmed fenders has been improved and should finally be available for sale soon. Last but not least, the elusive bolt on snorkel of theirs was on display again only this time, in its final form and as I'm told, with a part number as it's ready for sale now. Another cool product that we came across and thought you might want to see as well was made by a company called Cargo Glide. Essentially, they make a large flat deck that sits in the bed of your JT Gladiator, extends the full length of it, can carry up to a 1,000 lbs of gear and be slid to a completely out. I should note though that they also make a slide track that hangs from the cross bars of any bed rack and have a roof deck that can be pulled out and tilted down with ease for easier access to all your gear on top. Well done guys, love the content. I have had two trucks I set up with bed slides and loved them both, built my own dividers, one for trap shooting/hunting, the other for work with safety gear/medical and tools, both rigs had camper shells and can’t imagine them out in the elements unsecured though. Love the detailed reviews of SEMA this year. Rugged Ridge is doing great. I want that bed rack now. If they could tie into a third piece behind cab for stability that would be awesome! This way it could stand alone or with two cross bars.

Thanks for the cargo glide info. I have been considering this very hard since I will have a bed rack holding my tent up. You just helped me make my mind up in that I need one. Gotta have the 100% pull it seems as well. They have a 70% that I just wasn’t really sold on but this video just mad my mind up for the 100% pull. Great videos of SEMA.

I considered the Cargo Glide in my last build. Instead I went with an RV cargo drawer for 1/3 the cost. Didn't look quite as nice, but it was just as functional at a much lower price. On this build I went with the Decked system. Very much like the upper rack sling and will check those out when they hit the market.

Rugged Ridge has a lot of awesome stuff. Nice to see they've taken some new products for the JL and designed them for the JK. CargoGlide is another great product. I'm amazed there are any JT's on the dealership lots since there are so many being used to showcase aftermarket products. I'd be curious to hear how many JT's were at SEMA. The Red truck at 14:16 in the video. That is nice. I like that bumper with the extended section in front of the tires. I like that look better than the usual short bumper that exposes the large tire and open fender. Very nice. That Ridge snorkel is smoking. The rack looks great and very functional for carrying kayaks and a large Yakima box. Is the rack a Rhino Rack or a Rugged Ridge variation? Man, Rugged Ridge stuff is great. The Cargo Glide for the bed of the truck. That is a great idea. I plan to buy a Gladiator for pulling my Travel Trailer. I'm currently pulling it with a Jeep Sahara. That sliding cargo bed would be great to get to stuff in the bed of the truck while RVing. Great presentation.

Assuming you can drive with the Cargo Slide in the extended position, it would be great if the side rails were the same height as the wheel wells. You’d have additional support/bed length for full sheets (4’x8’) of building materials.

I have to agree with others, that @ruggedridge has really stepped up their game. I’m just a bit concerned with how big their organization has become. Historically when you merge multiple companies, the product quality suffers, and you they tend to become less customer focused. I hope this doesn’t happen with them. I guess time will tell.

10:27 well done. I was just looking at the JT Rubicon on a lot and noticed how with the higher fenders there is a DEEP valley between flare & body which is just bound to get built up with crud . .

It can but the benefits of being higher mean that you can fit a much larger tire without having to install as much of a lift. The trade off is well worth it in my opinion.

Oh I Fully understand the benefit. I think it is one of the Smartest move to come out of Jeep in the last few year.. Notice how they tested the market with their "High Tops" accessory fenders for the JK...right before the JL came out and the Rubi was wearing them stock?

Having seen both in person and up close, I can tell you that these Rugged Ridge ones look much nicer. Cleaner fit and the lip underneath is a sharp detail. These are what I would want.

5:05 Patrick didn’t watch the day of carnage on the JL/JT experience. I have the new Arcus bumper that was on the Telico Jeep and love it. Been waiting for the DRLs and will look at that HD rear bumper that was on the JT. Thanks Eddie and Cindy for all your coverage. A question though. @wayalife...will the Cargo Glide slide out bed tray work in conjunction with the Bed Deck system? I’m thinking this would be great for my JT! I’m a Sheriffs Deputy and I have to Cary a lot of gear in my off duty vehicle, and the Deck system gives me the ability to keep that gear out of the weather and locked securely, but it does take away some of the bed usefulness. Cargo Glide might just be the solution I am looking for.

I somehow doubt it. While it might be possible to install on top of a Decked, I double it could hold 1000 lbs of weight when fully extended. In the end, Decked is just made out of plastic.

Awesome to hear and no, you are not correct. Or at least, not entirely. I can't speak to the legality of it in all states but the air bags are triggered by a sensor that measures deceleration and it's located inside your Jeep
