(Long post) Maya and men in the chat, there is a concept going around that women are the gatekeepers to sex. Some men/women believe it to be true and others don't. I find that in all my years that this concept is most often true. In other words, consensual sex does not happen unless she agrees to it. It does not matter what a man does. He can say the right things, buy her the world, romance her, take care of her needs, etc. She has the final say. I believe that is the way it should be. With that said, I believe society has convinced men that they should constantly be in pursuit of women and women have to constantly feel pursued. It has gotten to the point where women almost demand it now and men feel obligated to do so. In all actuality, I have found the opposite to be true. An many men who practice SR also find to be true. When a man can break away from the constant need for sex, the need for validation from sex, and even his unlink his identity from sex, he will find that he does not need to pursue any longer. He no longer has to worry about fulfilling his sexual desire or the need to constantly persue a woman to the point of objectifying her as a sexual object. A man that has control over his sexual desires will come to realize that a woman will naturally pursue him. This is because he no longer objectives her, pressures her for sex, a relationship, attention, etc. She is free from obligation and will naturally pursue him in her own time frame. A man who is in control of himself is OK with her time frame as he is focused more on her as a human being with love and compassion rather than as a sexual outlet. When this happens she will pursue and she will pursue with everything she can give. All a man has to do is be patient and present. She'll make it worth the wait.

I hope it's obvious, though, that there's a good reason why guys are horny. It actually has to do with biology; we wouldn't be here otherwise. Creativity may play a role, but only a secondary one in most cases. That's in part because the creative life is risky; it may not yield tangible or financial benefits. It also requires great patience and perseverance, a rebellious spirit, often forgoing immediate gratification for later, much bigger rewards. Most careers depend largely on knowledge and information; a creative career is rare. So given that apprehension, given that creativity is a risky proposition, people wind up in fields or situations that do not accommodate creative growth. The result then is suppression, frustration, and all manner of perversity. I'm suggesting that watching porn, for example, is a symptom of people not finding creative outlets.
