As an Aussie I don't understand how anyone could possibly be against universal healthcare? Sure it's not perfect, but if paying an extra cent in taxes gives someone who's going to die unless they get the medical treatment they need, I'm more than happy to pay for it!!! We also have private healthcare on top of universal healthcare that does provide better healthcare coverage for more expensive procedures/services; but if we didn't have Medicare we would all be screwed beyond belief.
@ryannicholls36627 жыл бұрын
Yeah but rich people who can afford healthcare can't bare the idea of paying extra taxes for other people's benefit.

Even Trump admitted your country has great healthcare.
@MrRjhyt7 жыл бұрын
As a Scotsman, I have to object. Australian Healthcare is about 9.5% of GDP, and for the US, it's about 17%. They'd be saving money having universal healthcare. As in the UK, you just don't pay at the point of delivery. Even in France it's only 11.5% of GDP. Isn't it a christian virtue to care for your neighbour.
@TheCalvin19027 жыл бұрын
Many Americans don't want a single penny of their money going to brown people. Because of this, universal healthcare will always be in jeopardy no matter what. Time to build that wall - just further North than originally planned.

+Rebecca Tens of millions of Americans have been brainwashed almost beyond belief. It's sad, violent, and horribly destructive. Our politics, too, are hopelessly corrupt, our politicians are almost completely owned by the billionaires who have bought our political system, whole. --I have yet to speak with someone against universal health care who has the ability to marshal even basic facts on the matter. They've been taught, and believe, things that are obviously even blatantly false, yet they recite nonsense without apparent qualm. It could hardly be worse, here. In addition, the rich have turned health care into corporate welfare. It funnels *_one and a half trillion dollars_* in unnecessary extra costs every year to the already wealthy. They have a true death grip on the system.

It was very refreshing then and so I still respect him today - please keep my personal experience in mind when passing judgment on this man, specifically: he clearly is grounded enough to know perfection is a myth, for him and anyone else, but listening... really taking the moment to listen before you next speak - that's as close one can get to perfecting the art of communication. Im Heckin Mad Every human I know and half the ones in the phone book are more qualified than Trump. And every human I have ever met and _ALL_ the people in the phone book are fundamentally better human beings. In a world of hyperbole, I can assure you that I am not exaggerating. The president is not only unqualified and fundamentally unsuitable for the job, he's really one of the worst human beings on the planet. One of the folksy things that people say is, 'Can you imagine what it would be like to have a beer with them?' Most every president or prime minister I've put through that 'test' has come back as either a yes or a no. Mostly a yes. But when I run Trump through that, it's not only a 'no', it's also either a 'leave the bar he walked into' or 'dump the beer on his liar hair'. And that opens the door to another reason to detest Trump. He is so thoroughly intertwined with dishonesty that even his hair and his skin tone are lies.

Let's remember, too, that John McCain has spent his 30+ years in the Senate screwing over ordinary people on behalf of his wealthy donor-owners. McCain had the astonishing gall to pick Sarah Palin as his VP while running under the banner "Country First." A more cynical stunt is hard to imagine. It's nice that McCain chose for a change not to gut everyday Americans, but it doesn't change what his career has been about: The ownership of our political system by a few thousand of the wealthiest people in the country. McCain has done untold damage to this country and its people. This fundamentally changes nothing about his life and the endless harm he's done.
