When people protested against the take down of Robert E Lee statue the radical left/antifa brought clubs to attack them, the police was told to stay away. People aren't taking down statues of slave owners. They were taking down a statue of a separatist general who militarily supported the dismantling of the United States. The city had voted on it after several years of debate. Then these conservative/right wing groups poured in from other regions to protest.

I don't think Robert E. Lee was a bad guy, but he did fight against his country. Why have a statue of him? He didn't just support the losing side. He supported the side that rebelled against the United States. I'm pretty sure we don't have any statues commemorating British generals from the Revolution, and I bet the UK doesn't have any statues commemorating George Washington. And some of those groups that came to protest taking down the statue were also looking for a fight and shouting "Jews will not replace us!" The portion of the protest concerning the statue was quickly followed by the Unite the Right rally, which had nothing to do with the statue itself.

I'm not sure why people defend Trump in these events; every good action that he has done so far could be done better by better republicans. If you made a mistake by voting for him, it's okay as long as you recognize that mistake and make better decisions hereafter. I don't mean to try and offend conservative thinkers. It is just objective that Trump is particularly deceitful, and that he handles serious issues without reverence or dedication. It is sad to see what this Presidency has come to. I am all for placing the statues in question in museums, because they are a part of our history showing where we came from, even if it was a morally dark place and how much we have progressed in the promise for "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" not to mention one of my favorites "all men are created equal." I think everyone has a right to a voice, but not when it includes violence, hatred, and racial slurs. I condemn all the Neo-Nazis, KKK, and white Supremacist for there violence and hate. What occurred in Charlottesville, NC was nothing short of terrorism. My dad recently had an ancestor DNA done and we are as white as you get (English/Scottish/Irish on his dad's and German/English on his mom's) surprise, surprise, we have Irish, Scottish,English, Scandinavian, German, Spanish, Chinese, Mongolian boy was my grandma and dad surprised. I challenge all of these White Supremacists, Neo-Nazi's, and KKK to have their DNA check and I bet you that 9 out of 10 have some DNA from a minority group they are against or hate!

What I heard him says is: "there is blame on both sides..." If we extrapolated that, I guess that he also thinks that when a radicalized muslim commits a terrorist act, that there is blame on both the west and radical Islam. Unfortunately, the hatred between the faction has caused a society to reached a point where its practically impossible to have a reasonable conversation. people does not care about the context of discussion. They only care about who is saying and if a people that is voicing their opinion is holding a different opinion from which they advocates, then expect some bloodshed.
