7 HOURS?! Good Lord, Robin. How long did it take to record it?
@VoxStoica2 жыл бұрын
Approximately 130 hours. [Record + Edit + Video + KZbin] = is approximately 25:1 work to final length. Bit less for simple things like the letters, a bit more if the video/summary is more detailed.

Saddened that we're not doing these one at a time. There's little chance for a discussion of individual messages in a compilation like this. As for those messages, I have never actively disliked Seneca until "on the consolation of the bereaved." Among its toxic messages, "oh, he was just a kid when he died, you shouldn't be so sad," "you're not actually this sad, you're just looking for attention," and "you shouldn't be sad your kid died: he might have grown up to be a douchebag." Not that there are no worthwhile lines or ideas in there, but there's some toxic, myopic nonsense in there too.
@PoptartParasol2 жыл бұрын
He had one child who died in infancy and never had any other children as far as we know. So, keep in mind that that view is probably influenced by his personal tragedy. Knowing this.. I feel more so pity than hate, I guess he never came to terms with it himself.

Interestingly enough that is one of my more favored letters of his collection. “...Let me give you a scolding, you are like a woman in the way you take your sons death.”
