We need more people out here like that. People that have learnt to lead and not follow and people that will tell the truth and not glorify nonsense coming from them it will leave an impression on your soul. There’s no consistency with sentencing. I have a friend who got 8 years for mdma. First offense. I was over 1000g but still. 4 years for a murder vs 8 years for drug offense of a substance that isn’t even super destructive like fent/meth. Makes no sense

I’m always crying when I hear about youth incarceration being so long. My son was sentenced to 99yrs for an agg robb, and he was 16yrs old. He is now 40. The victim received 7 stitches and her car was returned to the same spot where it was taken. I believe no crime should go unpunished but the punishment should fit the crime. You have criminals who commit far worse crimes involving death and they receive a far less sentence. These young people deserve a second chance. I read that the kids who end up in prison are the poor, single parent homes, low income homes etc. That is not true in our case. I wish Texas had a program like this to hear what the younger inmates have to say. Most have self educated themselves and feel they can give back to the community based on their experiences to prevent other youth from going down the wrong path. Good luck to all especially the young man who’s been incarnate since he was 16yrs old. You will be the one to change the system. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Growing up in America you have to be grateful if you made it out of gang infested environments or if you came from a home that was full of abuse and trauma. Never take that for granted . As a child I was neglected by both of my parents and I could have easily gotten caught up in the street life. Somehow I made it out but at the same time I know I could have easily became caught up in the system like these men. Stay motivated 💪🙏🏾

It’s not until they get locked up behind prison walls when they all of a sudden want to become Malcolm X. And frankly they don’t really have a choice. Trying to act like some tough street gangster in prison isn’t impressing anybody in there 😂

clearly you didnt see the fact that he was 16 when he went in. correct, there are consequences for doing wrong, but life at 16 is steep. im sure that you like 99% of us broke the law as a juvenile, whether it was underage drinking, smoking weed, or fighting (all minor, all crimes), so its very difficult for me to say that a 16 year old should get a life sentence, i dont know what these men did but anything less than the most heinous of heinous crimes (school shooting, molesting babies, etc) then this sentence is crazy!!

For every cause there’s a reaction. Fuked up decisions at 16 can cause a life long reaction. People say they deserve to be freed. Tell that to the family who lost a loved one
