Moog I hope you’re paying attention, this is how to promote a new instrument!

really? I found this absolutely unappealing. Instead of showing what the synth is capable of, edit options etc, you just see people showing off their skills.

How well do you think the X would cope with Orchestra composition. Things like Max Richter / Ludovico Einaudi type things

Are any parts of its sound engine taken from the harsh sounding prophet 12, such as the digital oscillators or analog filter?

Super Great demo ..i want to buy prophet and i dont know what to buy prophet x or XL .. i am organist and pianist xl for piano cool but i am afraid that keyboard too heavy for playing organ sounds on it .. what you think ? To buy x or XL ?

Now that Dave's embraced digital, and the P12 update has FM, when is Sequential coming out with a modern FM synth with John Chowning's input? Picture a DX like synth, but one with 8+ operators, the ability to create your own algorithms, multi-stage envelopes for each, then run it through Dave's custom discreet analog VCFs and VCAs, and some FX. Not even the FS1r, or Yamaha's Montage does that, and both are terribly unfriendly when it comes to programming (Montage's touch screen helps a little, and it's not dedicated to FM, really).

512 factory programs, which are duplicated in the 512 user programs. The user programs can be overwritten.

Poor prophet x users who would have wanted this if they knew this was coming out
@EverettDudgeon1385 жыл бұрын
Well Then Nah...a lot of the features like the 32 voice mode are going to be ported back to the PX and generally those who wanted piano action to begin with likely wouldn’t have got a PX to begin with. Regardless, I’m happy to see Sequential trying something different. Not many synth companies offer piano action on their synths and Sequential was one of the only ones to do so back in the day with the Prophet T8. That’s what I love about Sequential is they always ignore trends and just do their own thing. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

I would have liked 76 synth keys but not piano action. The PX(L) piano samples don't sound good to me anyway.
@EverettDudgeon1385 жыл бұрын
Meh I don't really care how they sound. I wouldn't use the PX or PXL for a dedicated piano sound. Although I have been use it for piano sounds in a lot of scores lately.

Sequential Cool. May I ask? I returned my rev2 as I’m not a synth genius and couldn’t get the tones I wanted from it. Can the synth part of this sound similar to the prophet 5? Or should I just get the prophet 6?
@LotiLaw4 жыл бұрын
Hey late reply... just bought a prophet x so im watching this again lol. It has its own synth engine in it very similar to the rev 2 so you can make similar sounding synths with it. 8dio also made a prophet 5 sample pack that you can download onto this synth if you want the exact sounds. One thing though is that if you found the rev2 to be too complicated then this synth is even more so. Im guessing by now you already got a synth so which one did you get?

Oh wait I can buy a MacBook Pro and have money left over for a Yamaha MODX, Omnisphere and take everybody out to dinner. Or buy a DSI Prophet Rev 2-8 and a Yamaha MODX and use the extra grand to do something good for your family.... not to say Dave isn’t the most brilliant guy...it’s just the price point puts this instrument out of reach for 90% of the gigging keyboardist and recording artist. It’s so much more relaxing to take a MacBook and Native Instrument S61 on a gig (Total weight 15 pounds’ than hall this beautiful instrument out of my studio. If you buy one make sure you get a rider on your insurance to protect the investment

iT WOULD BE A VERY INTELLIGENT THING TO USE THIS SYNTH IN ORDER TO MAKE GREAT MUSIC AND NOT JUST USELESS SHREDDING OR STUPID NONSENSE NOISES. WITHOUT MELODY AND HARMONY THERE IS NO MUSIC THERE IS JUST RANDOM NOISE.
